Polly O’Keary is today’s blues woman, rooted in tradition, but informed by the 21st Century. Pulling in influences from zydeco, country, funk, jazz, rockabilly, surf, and rock and roll, she and her trio, Polly O’Keary and the Rhythm Method, bring a searing and joyful performance of today’s blues to audiences across the U.S. and Canada.
The band includes Polly on vocals and bass, Tommy Cook on drums, and David Miller on guitar.Tommy cut his teeth in blues as a drummer for the house band at Blues Central in Anchorage Alaska, where he eventually became a first-call drummer who played all over the state before moving to Seattle in 2005. Today he is endorsed by several drum equipment companies and is an instructor at the prestigious Seattle Drum School.Guitarist David Miller grew up listening to blues in Texas. At 17, then living in California, Miller met a piano player who was then working for Tommy Castro. The older musician recruited Miller to come to play at several bars and assured the young man that he could get him in, underage though he was. Miller became a regular in clubs in the Bay Area, sitting in with local and touring acts night after night.
At 25, then living in San Luis Obispo, he assembled The Dave Miller Band, and for the next 18 years, he and the group went on to become one of Southern California’s most popular blues bands, leading one reviewer to describe his “jaw-dropping guitar licks” and praise his “extraordinary mixture of inspiring virtuosity both vocally and instrumentally.Since forming as a trio in 2014, the band has been steadily building success. Every year brings another national tour (with the exception of 2020). The 2017 album Black Crow Callin’ was an International Blues Challenge finalist in the best self-produced CD category, earned high praise from critics, and spent all summer on blues radio charts.
In 2018, the band won the LA Music Critic Best Blues Band award and represented Washington at the International Blues Challenge, where they were semi-finalists. The band released As Live As It Gets” in 2019, which won the Washington Blues Society Best Blues Album award. In 2021, the year each band member turned 50, the band released the album “50,” and the single “You Better Think” debuted at #1 on the contemporary blues radio chart. That album also made the Living Blues chart and the Cashbox chart and stayed at the #1 radio position in Washington state for more than two months.
And the band has racked up an impressive haul of Washington Blues Society awards, including Drummer of the Year (3x), Guitarist of the Year (2020), Best Female Vocalist (6x), Best Songwriter (6x), Best Blues Bass (3x), Best New Band, Best Album (3x) and more

Shades on and shirts unbuttoned, Magic City Hippies generate the kind of heat that could’ve powered a high seas yacht party in the seventies or shake a Coachella stage next summer. If the trio — Robby Hunter, Pat Howard, and John Coughlin — stepped off the screen from some long-lost Quentin Tarantino flick in slow-motion (instruments in hand), nobody would question it. Embracing everything from AM radio rock and poolside pop to nimble raps and salsa, they lock into an era-less vibe with no shortage of psychedelic funk or hooks. The three-piece deliver the kind of bangers you can play on the way to the party, during the party, and to smooth over the comedown as the sun comes up.
As the guys so eloquently describe it, they “give people a choice to enjoy this on the surface level, feel funky in their bodies, and dance…or go deeper into the music.“
As legend has it, the origin of Magic City Hippies can be traced back to Robby’s days of permit-less busking in Miami. Eventually, Pat and John proved to be better accompaniment than his loop pedal, so the trio played regular bar gigs and built an audience locally. They formed as Robby Hunter Band, released the Magic City Hippies album, and adopted the title as their name. That LP gained traction in 2013 with syncs on The CW’s iZombie and Showtime’s Ray Donovan. On its heels, 2015’s Hippie Castle EP catalyzed their breakout as “Limestone” piled up over 21 million Spotify streams followed by “Fanfare” with another 20 million Spotify streams. They toured endlessly and moved crowds at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hulaween, Okeechobee Fest, Electric Forest, and Austin City Limits, to name a few. Along the way, the band also picked up acclaim from Relix and OnesToWatch as they dropped the fan favorite Modern Animal in 2019. When the world shutdown, the boys settled in different parts of the country (Rob “doing his Johny Mayer thing” in Bozeman, MT, Pat in Los Angeles, CA, and John still in Miami). Remotely, they wrote what would become their third full-length album, Water Your Garden, out January 2022. As things opened back up, the musicians put it all together in person.
Armed with singles such as “Queen,” the falsetto-spiked “High Beams” [feat. Nafets], “Diamond,” and “Ghost On The Mend” Magic City Hippies are ready to heat up their next chapter now.
High-energy, piano & guitar rock marked by virtuosic musicianship, masterful lyrics, and a performance that crosses from gritty to pretty.
Jesse Daniel Edwards is an acclaimed songwriter from the small mountain town of Cuyamaca, CA where he grew up without TV, internet, or significant exposure to the outside world. Leaving home at 16, he spent his late teens busking on street corners around the US and abroad with his brother. While singing outside of bars on Music Row in Nashville, TN Jesse struck up a friendship with Al Bunetta (John Prine). Bunetta served as a mentor to the young artist, encouraging Jesse to write and tour full-time in the years to follow. His debut came with the Steve Cropper (RCA, Otis Redding) produced opus “Saudade”. His songs- often lyrically waging war on the opioid crisis, school shootings, and environmental issues- have been featured in radio, TV, streaming movies, video games, and film- with his latest album “Violensia” (produced by Joe Chiccarelli- The Strokes) released in the summer of 2023.

AJJ
AJJ frontman Sean Bonnette can summarize the band’s new album, Good Luck Everybody, in a single sentence: “Sonically, it’s our least punk record, and lyrically, it’s our most punk record.”
And indeed, Good Luck Everybody (January 17, 2020), the Arizona band’s seventh album, stands out in their already diverse catalog. While still rooted in the folk-punk sound AJJ has become known for, the album is unafraid to delve into new territories that test the limits of what the band is capable of.
“I think it explores some of the weirder sides of AJJ, the more experimental leanings that we’ve had in the past,” says bassist Ben Gallaty. Good Luck Everybody draws from a wealth of sonic inspirations, from Laurel Canyon folk-rock of the 60s and 70s to avant garde artists like Suicide, as well as some orchestral pop. There is even a piano ballad, the tragic “No Justice, No Peace, No Hope.”
Lyrically, Good Luck Everybody is a change of pace from the idiosyncratic songwriting style Bonnette has honed over more than 15 years fronting AJJ. It still features his wonderfully weird turns of phrase and oddball word pairings, but this time, his thematic lens is more directly focused on the inescapable atrocities of the world around him. Longtime fans will recognize the album’s social commentary as a return to their 2011 release, Knife Man, but this time it’s fueled by a more radical urgency.
“I usually try for a timeless effect in songwriting, so that you can hear a song and generally not think about the context under which it was written,” says Bonnette. “But for this one, I was trying to write, and all the bad political shit just kept invading my brain and preventing me from writing that way. So I decided to fully embrace it and exorcise that demon.”
Much like Woody Guthrie and Phil Ochs pulled their songs straight from newspaper headlines, Good Luck Everybody feels like a long scroll through social media feeds on a particularly volatile day.

Nina Rao and Aditi Sethi are both practitioners on the path of Bhakti Yoga where chanting of Sanskrit mantras is an expression of longing for the Divine in all hearts, and celebrating the One Love!

We view our Open Mic as a service to the community, providing performance opportunities for musicians who rarely get to play on a nice stage. We like to provide opportunities for community members to come enjoy live music for FREE at least once a week, and sometimes more than once a week.
You’ll hear a variety of wonderfully talented folks on their way up. You never know what you’ll hear… original songs, covers, guitar, piano….. and often something quite surprising.
Each performer gets 15 minutes or three songs.
Our Open Mic has been so popular that we typically have more folks wanting to perform than we’ve had room for. After consulting with some of our regular attendees and participants we want to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to perform on stage.
So we are trying out a new process and it seems to be very popular.
We’ve expanded the number of available performance slots to 10 per night.
- Note: There are actually 12 spots on the list each night. . The host of Open Mic is spot 1, and the owner of White Horse (Bob Hinkle) is spot 3. That leaves 10 available spots to be drawn from the hat.
In place having folks lineup in advance for the signup list, we now pull names out of a hat.
We suggest that those desiring to perform on stage arrive prior to 6:30pm.
When you arrive, check in with the bartender and they will give you a piece of paper where you will write your name and drop it into “the hat”
Sometime between 6:30 and 6:45, the bartender will announce that the names are being drawn. You must be present when the names are drawn to confirm your participation. Participants will be added to the nights performer list in the order in which they are drawn.
Any names left in the hat that do not make the performer list for the night , are automatically put first on the list for the following week. PLUS…. they get a free bottle of beer or soft drink “on the house” as a thank you for their patience and support of fellow musicians.
“The Love Frequency invites you to come into a deeper state of heart-centered living where your heart becomes your true North, your source of creation and liberation, and a commanding presence of leadership in your life.” – Adora Winquist, Modern Alchemist & Founder of The Soul Institute
Hi, I’m Adora, the creator of The Love Frequency. Like many, I’ve walked a path where I faced negative emotions, disappointment, and self-doubt. I understand how it feels to be stuck, overwhelmed, confused, and in lack.
I rarely felt free to be my true self. I could not hear my inner voice. I was unsure of my true purpose in life. But somewhere within me I knew that there was a different way. A sense that there was something more. Can you relate?
Are You Ready to Feel Fully Free and Embrace Your True Self?
When was the last time you felt fully free?
Maybe you have had moments where you felt free enough to let your heart open, letting your inner light shine and allowing you to embrace that ‘natural state of elation’ that comes when you know you’re in the right place at the right time. For most, however, those moments are often fleeting.
I used to glimpse those moments sporadically, that clarity and feeling of goodness, openness and receptivity. Thankfully, now, through decades of soul work, they have become my way of being. I hope you will come to this retreat where I can guide you to bring that freedom into your life, too.
Join me and other like-hearted people to do this work together. We will support each other to discover the transformative power of The Love Frequency, where you will embark on a soul-nurturing journey to embrace your true self, experience joyous liberation, and awaken to a thriving life. Your Path to Self-Mastery Starts Here
Connect with nature in a whole new way. Discover the elevated life of a modern alchemist.
Nature, the earth, all of creation, is our greatest teacher. Mother earth transmits profound wisdom that you won’t find in history books, medical journals, news articles, or the rabbit hole of social media.
Our modern construct of society has effectively disconnected us from the true source of abundance that the earth has to offer, leaving us grasping for more in every facet of life.
Going back to the basics of all of life: water, earth, fire, air, spirit, brings us home to the life of co-creation we were born to live.
When we live in communion with the earth, not only do our physical lives become more conscious and sustainable, but so do our emotional and spiritual lives.
The Love Frequency Retreat is not just an event—it’s a transformative journey toward self-mastery. You will be immersed in the alchemy of the 5 elements air, fire, water, earth and akasha to accelerate your ability to embody The Love Frequency.
Through guided practices such as transmission meditation, fire ceremony, consecration immersions, and labyrinth walks, you will tap into the depths of your being, activate your intentions, and anchor your new patterns of self-mastery into the earth.
Your experiences will include:
Somatic healing and sound frequency meditation to ignite inspiration and unify mind with heart and body
Fire ceremony to transmute past patterns and activate your intention for soul level alignment
Consecration immersion of water in the Bend of Ivy river to bless and open to a greater expression of your authentic self.
A labyrinth walk to return to your center and anchor your new desired pattern of self mastery into the earth
Transmission meditation to harness your unique alchemical formula and align with the highest inspiration of your mind, heart and soul
Your love can heal, transform and create everything you authentically desire.
What is Modern Alchemy?
Traditional alchemy is considered to focus on transmuting base metals to gold. But true alchemy is actually the journey of the spiritual seeker.
When I first began exploring plant medicine, I was introduced to the concept of synergy, where the sum of the parts or ingredients are more effective than the singular aspect or isolate. This concept has evolved from my perspective and practice over the last 30 years as a healer, teacher and author in the field of complementary medicine.
Modern Alchemy is the hero’s and heroine’s journey to Know Thyself and in that journey to transform the places of limitation, pain and suffering from our soul to our cells into life affirming, creation expressions of thriving. That is our true birthright.
It is a synergy of 4 pillars that anchor the universal truth and the creative potential of the universe: esoteric philosophy, psycho-spiritual dynamics, essential oils and vibrational medicine. These core philosophies are then intertwined to form modern interventions for ancient remedies that create greater health and harmony within the mind-body and soul connection and allows us to transmute the patterns of limitation we carry from soul soul to our cells: personal, ancestral and collective to rise beyond the third dimensional reality.
In our collective longing to evolve, we have the desire to open and access the ancient wisdom and divine knowledge within ourselves in manners that are both practical, accessible and yet profound.
The path of a Modern Alchemist transforms you from a spiritual seeker to a sacred leader of your most authentic and abundant life.
