You are invited Friday, October 6th from 5-8 pm to the opening reception for You were only waiting for this moment to arise, a new exhibition of paintings by Mira Gerard. The artist presents paintings of idyllic spaces populated with wildflowers and plants—and the occasional figure of an animal or human—depicted in gloaming meadows and glittering sunlight. Gerard builds imagined environments that represent her journey through grief to find refuge in the small miracles of the natural world, using watery layers, metallic pigments, and delicately rendered oil paint to conjure air, light, and magic. Join us for a reception with the artist!
Wanna hear the best local music and drink the best local beers? Hop aboard LaZoom’s Purple Bus and rock out with a local band while we take you on a journey to Asheville’s premiere local breweries.
