Keith shares an informal interview with pianist and BMC favorite Garrick Ohlsson. Following the interview, Ohlsson performs Chopin’s Nocturne in F-sharp Major Op. 15, no. 2 from home.

Steven Isserlis and Mishka Rushdie Momen: Live from Wigmore Hall
Don’t miss a stunning recital by cellist Steven Isserlis (BMC 2021 guest artist) and pianist Mishka Rushdie Momen (BMC 2021 guest artist). The British duo performed music of Kabalevsky, Janáček, and Shostakovich. This concert was recorded live at Wigmore Hall in January 2021.

26th Annual Bluegrass First Class – February 19, 20, and 21, 2021.
Midnight Run is a high-energy, Tennessee-based bluegrass band that offers up a fresh approach to the “High Lonesome” sound while staying true to the rich traditions of bluegrass music.
Originating in the Gateway of the Great Smoky Mountains, Midnight Run began its journey in February of 2015, at the Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where they became a permanent staple of everyday life at the distillery. Midnight Run is a high-energy, Tennessee-based bluegrass band made up of five like-minded musicians and graduates of college music programs. They set out to create a group that is tied to the rich traditions of bluegrass music and offers up a fresh approach to the “High Lonesome” sound. Each member draws from their influences in different genres including bluegrass, country, celtic, old-time and rock n’ roll.
Midnight Run stays true to their musical roots with tight harmonies and reverence for “old-style” bluegrass music, all while stretching the boundaries of the genre with their song selection, stage antics, and exciting performance.
Favorites among bluegrass enthusiast and non-bluegrass audiences alike; they keep the energy high and the audience on their feet. Midnight Run knows when they are on stage; it is not only about the music, it is about connecting with the audience and leaving them with a memory that will last a lifetime. Midnight Run has been referred to as one of the most entertaining new acts on the bluegrass scene today.
Now, with over 200 shows a year, they find themselves playing to audiences from all over the world. From the moment they step on stage you’ll feel like you are in the hills of Tennessee, sitting on the front porch, listening to some of the finest music that the Smoky Mountains have to offer. Together Seth Mulder, Colton Powers, Ben Watlington, Max Etling, and Cody Bauer create a powerhouse of music that you do not want to miss!

The 24 professional voices of the Herring Chamber Ensemble, joined by our professional chamber orchestra, perform the monumental Bach “B-minor Mass.” Bach’s greatest work, assembled near the end of his life and even though Bach never heard it himself, has been the benchmark for choral-orchestral music since 1750. This intimate performance in Daniel Chapel at Furman will be a memorable and lasting experience for all.

In the summer of 2018, their quirky all-violin cover of “Sweet Child Of Mine” went viral, amassing over 15 million views and more than 400,000 shares on Facebook in just a few weeks, and was picked up by publications all over the world. Dive into Broadway repertoire and character analysis in this class that celebrates “I want” songs; the musical moment spotlighting a protagonist’s hopes and dreams. With a focus on acting through song, intention, and motivation, young artists will discover what drives a character as they learn, develop, and perform a musical revue of “I want” songs presented at the end of the semester in an original virtual showcase.

TOBYMAC announces the return to LIVE entertainment with the Hits Deep Tour, stopping at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. The 2021 lineup features TOBYMAC & the DiverseCity Band along with special guests Tauren Wells, We Are Messengers, Unspoken, Cochren & Co., and Terrian.
To ensure fan safety the Hits Deep Tour will be implementing socially distanced seating maps and will be working closely with both national and local health officials to ensure we’re meeting or exceeding the most current health and safety guidelines in each market.
“Getting to know you…” Meaningfully connect and collaborate with young artists from across the country in this virtual musical theatre class featuring Broadway songs about friendship! In high-energy zoom classes combining singing, acting, and movement, students will hone their theatrical skills while developing a virtual musical revue shared with friends and family at the end of the semester.

Award-winning fiddler, singer and songwriter Carley Arrowood has quickly become a recognized name among young bluegrass artists. With the release of her very first singles with Mountain Home Music Company, Carley has begun to make her mark as a musician. Her cutting-edge fiddling and vocals are forceful and bright, rooted in the traditions of the Western North Carolina mountains, while creating a twist of refreshing contemporary bluegrass, country and gospel sounds. Carley has teamed up with some of her closest friends (and family) to create such a performance that will leave listeners amply exhilarated and encouraged.

Established in 2007, the Meccore String Quartet is one of Europe’s most compelling ensembles. Since many years they have been a treat for music lovers in Europe and America, and have performed during most important music festivals. The quartet has received numerous awards in prestigious chamber music competitions such as among others Premio Paolo Borciani in Reggio Emilia and Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition in London.
