Spring on down to the studio on Saturday, April 2! We want to invite you to the 2022 Spring Fibershed Market from 10am-4pm in our community fiber space at 408 Depot Street. This year we have another great group of fiber artists and farmers excited to sell their goods.
Participating artists & farmers:
Amanda Gross: Handwoven pillows, scarves, table runners, rugs, greeting cards.
Ann & Trish Hord-Heatherley: Roving, yarn, locks, raw fleeces.
Betty Hilton-Nash: Hand dyed bamboo socks, silk & bamboo scarves, small handwoven tapestries and bracelets.
Chad Alice Hagen: Miniature book necklaces, handmade sketchbooks and clamp resist dyed wool and felt.
Cierra Bateman: Naturally dyed and hand-quilted items, wall hangings, and smaller items.
Donna Trunk: Handfelted scarves, hats, bags. Woven pillows. Solar dyed silk scarves. Hand-felted soaps. Knitted items. Alpaca fiber.
Eileen Searcy: Felt and wax decorative items, coasters, treasure boxes, hanging cones, small art quilts.
Elke Amenda-Spirakis: Roving, Combed Top, batts, hand spun and mill spun yarn natural color and dyed. Also some felted items, small kits and handmade soap.
Jaana Mattson: Needle felted wool landscapes, books, felting kits.
Joyce Tromba: Naturally dyed and eco printed garments, scarves, sock blanks, books.
Kacey Zucchino: Fiber bowls (both cloth and felt, aprons, placemats, bags, small collages.
Starr Cash: Alpaca fiber, batts, roving, yarn. Hand woven scarves & rugs.
Trish Golay: hats, scarves, and accessories
Local Cloth is currently following the CDC guidelines in Buncombe County.

Book it over to Black Mountain for this exciting opportunity. The Friends of the Black Mountain Library will be having a pop-up used book sale on Saturday, April 9, outside the library. There will be books for all ages at great prices. All proceeds benefit the Friends of The Black Mountain Library.

Come shop with us on Saturday, April 23rd from 11am to 6pm at the Asheville Mall as we celebrate small businesses. We would like to also thank our partners, Biz Radio Asheville and Asheville Mall for making this possible.
The spring shop will feature 25 women-owned, minority-owned businesses specializing in baked goods, beauty, fashion and accessories, home decor, pet-friendly goods, and more. Confirmed businesses include Dope Diva Accessories, Healed Skin & Candle Co., Pumpkin Dog, Prayer Pots by Anita Walling, Uniquely Neva, and Wendy Newman Photography.
“Our mission is to support the success of women entrepreneurs. We are grateful for our amazing community partners and sponsors that continue to invest in our local entrepreneurs, and sow into our mission,” said Zurilma Anuel, WWBC Director.
About the Western Women’s Business Center
The mission of the Western Women’s Business Center is to reduce barriers and serve as a catalyst to the success of women entrepreneurs in Western North Carolina. The Western Women’s Business Center is a program of Carolina Small Business Development Fund, a statewide nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with a mission to foster economic development in the state of North Carolina. The WWBC meets the needs of women entrepreneurs through one-on-one business coaching, workshops, and access to capital. Our team of experts offer support on a range of topics small businesses need to start and grow.

Join us for the Spring Fling Farm Fest, taking place at 91 Holbrook Road, Candler, NC, 28571 on April 30th, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 4 PM. In addition to the beautiful greenhouses being open, guests are invited to enjoy live music, food trucks, curated vendors selling art, craft, CBD products, and much more in one of Asheville’s most remarkable locales.
Spring is in the air and we are ready to celebrate with the community!
We are thrilled to announce a vibe session meet and greet with Lauren Davis of @fiddyshadesofgreen from 12 PM to 1 PM, with photo opts available.
We will also have an amazing line-up of local musicians, including Joker’s Trade, Istari, John Kirby and the New Seniors, and Appalachian Standard’s very own Substandards. Bear’s Bar-B-Que will be on site with incredible food, as well as kettle corn.
We’ll have a fun mechanical bull and several artisans in our greenhouse selling their beautiful wares, including Honey Creek Pottery! And, of course, our greenhouse will be bursting with a few new and glamorous plants.
The Spring Fling Farm Fest is free to the public. Parking is available on site, however can be limited so it is
recommended that groups carpool. This is an outdoor event.
The first 100 people to join us will receive a goodie bag!
Appalachian Standard is a veteran-owned, craft hemp farm and greenhouse nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. Our hemp is greenhouse, field, and indoor grown in small batches year-round by a team of experienced growers. Come experience music in one heck of a unique venue!

The Asheville Blue Ridge Rose Society will sell many varieties of roses, including own-root, fragrant, miniature, and old garden roses. Expert rosarians will be on hand to help you choose the perfect rose and to give practical advice on growing and caring for roses.

Choose among perennials for sun or shade, groundcovers, native plants, vegetable starts, herbs, shrubs, and even a few small trees. Garden art, books on gardening and some hard goods will also be available. Our volunteers will help you select the right plant for the right place and answer your gardening questions.
Planting activity for children will be offered. Parental supervision required.

In the lower level parking lot of the Folk Art Center, Guild members will have an opportunity to share their creative efforts with the public in an outdoor carefully-spaced layout. Visitors can shop for a variety of fine craft of different disciplines: bladesmithing, glassblowing, wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramics, woodturning, metalsmithing, leatherwork, and furniture making.
The public will get to see beautiful craftwork in a fun, casual setting while Guild members have an opportunity to find new homes for their pieces.
