Acorns’ Annual season of trunk shows highlights the talented creators of fine art, designer jewelry, and home goods.
Elizabeth Locke travels the world in pursuit of the uncommon elements to make up her designs. All pieces are individually designed by her and completely handmade in 19K gold using coins from Greece, Rome, and forgotten empires, as well as luminous pearls from the South Seas.

Calling all singers, songbirds, crooners, and chanteuses! Interested in joining WNC’s premier vocal ensemble and performing with Asheville Symphony?
The Asheville Symphony Chorus invites you to audition for the 2023-2024 season.
Auditions will take place August 8th and 15th, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at First Congregational United Church of Asheville. Please use the form on the Auditions page of our website to request a slot, and be sure to read up on what to prepare and what forms to bring.

Following their move to Highlands, NC, Marci draws her inspiration from the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge mountains and the Emerald Coast of Florida. Focusing on semi-precious stones, pearls and other high-quality materials, each beautiful piece is designed to bring the wearer joy, confidence and inspiration!
From the regional crafters to local guide artisans, set up on the river banks of the Nantahala. Come and meet these vendors and more on the second Saturday of every month, May – September.

For the 18th year in a row, artists in this small community will open their studios to the public for the annual Come to Leicester Studio Tour. This free, self-guided event is held every third weekend in August, with this year’s tour dates being August 19th and 20th, 10 AM to 5PM each day.
Visitors choose their own tour stops using a printed brochure with a full-color map of the area, with bold signs directing to the individual studios. The tour route travels through some of the most scenic rural countryside in Western North Carolina. Along the way, visitors can view beautiful, hand-crafted work and meet the artists who create it. The variety of arts and crafts on the tour includes brooms, pottery, paintings, iron work, woodworking, jewelry, fiber, mosaic, enamel, and mixed media. We carefully review each and every submission. You’ll know by late October if your piece is selected. Should your piece get selected, there is a $35 participation fee.

Do you have a boundary-pushing, innovative performance piece, short film or installation that you’re ready to share?
We will open applications for the film portion of the festival in fall 2023. Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway. Our application fee for films is $5.
NOW CONSIDERING WORKS OF ALL KINDS
We accept live performances from 5 to 60 minutes in length, plus installations and films. We’re open to other types of performance as well – let’s talk! Depending on its length, your piece may be grouped with another show, or scheduled as a Random Act of Fringe. RAFs are free and open to the public, and artists receive a stipend for their performance, rather than relying on door sales.
Typically each artist with a ticketed show gets 2 performances. But in 2024, we’re exploring the option of giving a few shows 3 performances, at select venues only. Our venues range from 20-80 person capacity.

2. SHORT FORM

20-40 minutes long
