Before the build dates it will take a lot of coordination – we’re looking for a few good people to help as:
Childcare Coordinators – providing supervision and fun activities for kids during construction
Food Coordinators – acquiring food from the community for each day of the build

There will be a transaction fee of 2.89% plus .30 USD for PayPal transactions. For transactions of $500 or more the Asheville City Schools Foundation (ACSF) strongly recommends checks or wire transfers. For wire transfers or the transfer of stock contact Rebecca Abide at [email protected]. ACSF is a 501(c)3 organization and donations are normally tax deductible. However, always consult your taxadviser. Cash should be conveyed in person, of course.

BRAVE VOICES – Storytelling, Gay Men’s Chorus and One WoMan Cabaret Show “I Am What I Am”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Stories about coming out will be shared at 6:00 p.m. and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and runs approximately an hour. Please note that photos and videos are prohibited.
Prepare to be mesmerized by an extraordinary evening of coming out monologues, a performance by the Asheville Gay Men’s Chorus and a one woMan cabaret show, “I Am What I Am.” All ages are welcome. Tickets are available at www.AshevilleDragBrunch.com. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Stories about coming out will be shared at 6:00 p.m. and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and runs approximately an hour.
After hearing poignant stories of coming out and a stellar performance by the chorus, the multi-talented performer Divine Holeburn takes center stage with a groundbreaking one-person drag show, “I Am What I Am.” This nationwide touring production serves as a fundraiser for the ACLU’s Drag Defense Fund, supporting drag queens, trans individuals, and the entire queer community. “I Am What I Am” offers audiences the chance to witness a fusion of live singing, enchanting narrative, and a truly unique exploration of Divine’s origin story. With a perfect blend of raw emotion, heartwarming moments, and dazzling entertainment, the show promises an unforgettable journey.
Southern belle Divine, a true force in the drag community, has expressed deep concern over the ongoing assault on the rights of the community. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Divine is committed to using her platform to combat bigotry and raise funds for the ACLU’s Drag Defense Fund. By collaborating with community groups across the nation, Divine aims to support those affected by discriminatory anti-drag and anti-trans laws.
With a voice that transcends boundaries and a gift for storytelling, Divine will unveil the trials, triumphs, and transformative moments that have shaped her extraordinary life. Audiences can expect an immersive narrative brought to life through exceptional artistry and sheer talent, with the possibility of even encountering a puppet during the show!

An Evening With David Sedaris: The best-selling author and well-known NPR humorist, playwright, and comedian, David Sedaris returns to Cullowhee for An Evening With David Sedaris. With more than 16 million copies of his books in print, Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. The October 12th event includes a live reading of new material, time for audience members to ask questions of the author, and book signings before and after the event. Sedaris’ books will be available for purchase at the event through the City Lights Bookstore of Sylva, NC.

Every Friday Modelface Comedy brings you the best comedians from all over the country.
An only child with OCD, Paul Hooper channels his dysfunction into a cathartic harangue. That’s a real flowery and obnoxious way of saying he complains in a funny way. Anyway, this native of Charlotte, North Carolina, now residing in New York City, has been featured on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV, Red Eye with Tom Shillue, at the HBO Comedy Festival in Vegas, Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Oregon, the Boston Comedy Festival, Michael Moore and Jeff Garlin’s Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, the Vancouver Comedy Fest and was a finalist in the 30th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition. A seasoned headliner, Paul has performed in forty two states and ten countries, including two armed forces tours. HIs debut solo album, “Tense and Uncomfortable” is available on Stand Up! Records, and iTunes.

RPB is a formidable improv comedy group consisting of Tom Chalmers, Mondy Carter, Karen Stobbe, Kim Richardson and Josh Batenhorst.
This is how it works: RPBs will ask the audience for suggestions and then they make that come to technicolor life. Get ready to be a part of the experience because this show will push the envelope of ridiculous fun.

Headliner Leonard Ouzts
At 26 years old, Leonard Ouzts is a distinct rising voice in the world of stand-up comedy. A native of Virginia, his southern upbringing shaped his down to earth, observational comedic style. Leonard can most recently be seen in a breakout role of the producer Lawrence in season two of the Netflix series MASTER OF NONE. He has performed stand-up on CONAN, ADAM DEVINE’S HOUSE PARTY, and AXS’ GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE. He can also be seen in multiple episodes of TruTV’s COMEDY KNOCKOUT, MTV’s JOKING OFF, upcoming episodes of the MTV series WILD N OUT. Leonard was selected as a NEW FACE at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and was most recently named by RollingStone.com as a Top Ten Comic To Watch. Toybox Theatre, in collaboration with The Magnetic Theatre, presents a new puppetry series for ALL AGES. This new series will feature original works by acclaimed award-winning puppeteer and clown Toybox, and will bring some of the best puppeteers in the nation as special guests!
Toybox Theatre has been entertaining audiences from coast to coast with their unique brand of humor and art for over 20 years! Garnishing many “fan favorite” and “funniest show” awards, Toybox has also received an UNIMA Citation for Excellence in the Art of Puppetry, and funding from The Jim Henson Foundation.
