If you own your own headset, simply email us for an invitation to our twice monthly, guided experiences in aNUma. If you don’t own a headset, you can rent one from us for 24 hours.

Get in for your next team building experience, combining our decades of experience in coaching, experiential education and facilitating containers for transformation in one powerful 90-minute session.
American Institute of Architects AIA – Asheville Section – continues its annual Where Building Science Meets Climate Science professional development series designed to build proficiencies related to climate change and architecture.
This year’s Theme: Defining Regenerative Design
Thursday November 2
Public reception and networking session at 5:15-6:00 pm followed at 6-7 pm with a presentation from conference Keynote Speaker, Jennifer Todd and Philip Donovan. Thursday evening’s public lecture is free, (donations accepted), and all community members are invited to attend.
One AIA HSW Continuing Education credit hour is expected.
Friday November 3
Friday, the conference continues at The Collider with a full day of in-depth presentations aimed at professional architects, designers, planners, construction experts, and regenerative design enthusiasts.
Registration and breakfast from 8:15 am to 8:45 am. A catered lunch is included in the registration fee. The program will wrap with a panel discussion and Q & A session with the speakers. The conference concludes at 4:30 pm.
Six AIA HSW Continuing Education credit hours expected.

The year 2023 is also the Chamber’s 125th Anniversary year, and our WomanUP Celebration will feature historical as well as forward-thinking elements to inspire, support and engage women in our region.

WomanUP is an initiative from the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce focused on women in business who wish to build a strong network of women intent on inspiring one another to achieve individual potential; supporting each other in business endeavors; and creating a legacy through mentorship.

Program Overview:
- The French Broad River Partnership is a collaboration of business, nonprofit, and government stakeholders all interested in the water quality and economic impact of the watershed in our region.
- Our 5th Annual Meeting will be held the morning of Wednesday, November 8th at the A-B Tech main campus with an expected attendance of 100 to 150 people.
- The 2.5 hour program features three moderated panel discussions on The French Broad River Watershed :: The Intersection of the Environment + Economy.
- Our panels include: State + Local Elected Officials and Government, Industry Stakeholders, and Business + Tourism leaders.
- The moderated panel discussions are designed to be energetic, informative, collaborative, and representative of multiple perspectives followed by a brief audience Q&A.
Please join us November 8 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Ferguson Auditorium on A-B Tech’s main campus for a series of panel discussions as part of the French Broad River Partnership’s Annual Meeting. This event is free and open to the public and we greatly encourage you to attend.

North Carolina Farm Bureau is happy to provide agricultural outreach grants to NC teachers through their Ag in the Classroom Going Local program. These grants value up to $500. Going Local Grants help educators provide pre-K through collegiate-level students with valuable, real-world education and experiences directly related to the agricultural industry and the NC Standard Course of Study. Teachers practicing in private and public North Carolina schools, colleges, and universities are encouraged to apply. Learn more here.
In early 2024, 50 organizations will be awarded $500 in funding and a collection of gardening supplies for their youth garden program.
Since 1982, the Youth Garden Grant has supported school and youth educational garden projects that enhance the quality of life for youth and their communities.

Any organization in the United States or US Territories planning a new or improving an existing garden program that serves at least 15 youth between the ages of 0 and 18 is eligible to apply.
KidsGardening grantees from any 2022 or 2023 grant program (Budding Botanist, GroMoreGood Grassroots, Lots of Compassion, and Little Seeds Pollinator Pals) and previous Youth Garden winners from any year are not eligible.
Organizations must:
- Support, work with, or serve communities with a majority of individuals that are under-resourced (systematically denied resources and opportunities based on race, gender, ethnicity, income level, abilities, geographic location, etc., or currently experiencing hardship such as a natural disaster, etc.)
- Have fifteen or more youth participate in the garden program.
- Have received less than $10,000 in grants for the garden program during 2022 and 2023 combined.
Mini-grant applications are available three times during the 2023-2024 school year. You may apply one time during this cycle. Mini-grants must be used within a year after receiving the funding.
Applications due by:
- November 30, 2023
- January 30, 2024
- March 30, 2024
