Swimming Pools
Asheville Parks & Recreation’s public pools provide safe and affordable outdoor summer fun for all ages. For info about pool schedules, please call 828-348-4770 or visit ashevillecitypools.com.
Malvern Hills Park’s 90 year-old outdoor pool will not open this summer. While we were able to keep the facility operational through last summer, the pool can no longer be repaired to safely meet the needs of our community. For more, read this article.

Time for you to see our mountain streams from a new perspective. River Snorkeling is a fast growing hobby that allows you to see a whole world just under the surface of the water. *All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No charge for adults attending who do no wish to get in the water/snorkel but everyone must register in advance to account for limited seating. For those who would like a ride in the van, participants will meet at 70 Gashes Creek Rd, Asheville, NC 28805.
*Each participant will be given a wetsuit, wetsuit socks, snorkels & masks. Life Jackets can be provided by request. Participants should provide shoes that can get wet and securely attach to your feet.
*Van transportation is provided.
*This program is weather dependent and may be rescheduled based on safe water levels in the river.

Free Event Shirt until deadline
All participants in the 8k and 5k will receive a free shirt with their registration until August 18th at midnight! Beginning August 19th, shirts will be available for $10 in limited quantities and sizes.
All Mini Moo participants will receive a Mini Moo shirt free with their registrations until Sunday, August 18th at midnight! Shirts will no longer be offered after that date.

Join the Asheville Symphony for our fourth annual Symphony in the Park pops concert, presented by Givens Communities! You’ll hear everything from classical to pop hits to Broadway in this free concert held in downtown Asheville’s Pack Square Park. Immerse yourself in the macabre delights of live music, art vendors, spine-chilling entertainment, bewitching activities such as a to DIE for haunted trail into the dark forest, and more. This fiendish affair beckons dark spirits, midnight wanderers, witchy souls, and the eternally restless. Perfect for oddity lovers and Halloween enthusiasts. It’s a dead man’s party!
Established in May 2023, HauntFest has risen as a leading horror festival business, captivating audiences with its spine-chilling spectacles and atmosphere. From bewitching entertainment to macabre vendors and haunted attractions, HauntFest offers an unparalleled immersion into the realm of terror. Experience spooktacular live performances, encounter creatures both mythical and monstrous, and traverse unhallowed grounds where every corner hides a new fun and exciting horror. Lutheridge’s cabins, pavilions, and recreational areas make for a wonderful venue with shade and picnic tables. As you enter, you can monster mash to the KILLER live bands in the Bat Cave and peruse the macabre vendors in the field across. Ghouls will slink freely around the festival. Behind the Bat Cave, you can snag some “boos” at the Bar and enter the Haunted Trail. At the center of the festival, enjoy interactive activities and solo artists by the lake – you can even take a canoe or paddle boat out if you dare! Bring close-toed shoes, as the ground may be uneven in some areas.
