HRC is proud to announce both youth tennis camps and an adult tennis camp this Christmas Break season. Kids Camp will be held December 27 and will be 2-5 pm. Campers get tennis training and match play. Tournament junior players camp will be December 28-29 from 2-5 pm. Adult camp is 11:30-4 on Tuesday December 26th and includes tennis training, match play and lunch!
“We are very excited to be able to continue offering camps during the Christmas break. We can handle all abilities on our tennis courts and safely have fun off and on the court with all the things available to us at HRC,” stated Director of Winter Camps Cre Still.

His educational and outreach programs are the gateway into Africa through which he introduces Africa’s culture, arts, history and lifestyle rarely covered by mainstream media to global audiences most especially those in schools and colleges.
Adama Dembele is a master djembéfola (djembe player) from Ivory Coast, West Africa and tailor of West African clothing, and for 12+ years Adama is a leading Master Teaching Artists with LEAF Global Arts! Adama come from a family of musicians for 33 generations, and has toured several continents with various major acts such Oumou Sangare, Salif Keita & many others. Adama has created and played in several drum and dance companies such as Yelemba d’Abidjan, Ensemble Koteba, Congoba and many more. You can play drums with Adama most Saturdays 12-2at his Yala! at LEAF Global Arts downtown Asheville. “When I share my culture, I am representing all of my family of drummers, storytellers and culture keepers in Ivory Coast and Mali. NEW YEAR’S EVE GLOW NIGHT: Greenville Swamp Rabbits vs. Atlanta Gladiators
The 10th Annual New Year’s Resolution Run 5k & 10k is January 1, 2024 at 10am!
What better way to celebrate a decade of running than in the heart of downtown Asheville? The race course takes you through the bustling streets of downtown and charming neighborhoods, including the Grove Park area on the 10k route. And, of course, we’ve saved the best for last! The course will take you up North Market Street, the only remaining block of unique, historic, cobblestone brick pavers in Asheville for an exhilarating finish.
We welcome families and participants of all ages to come walk or run their way to completing their first resolution! Bring warm layers of clothes, lace up your shoes, and make 2024 a year of intention, inner strength and power!
Your child is welcome between 8-4 pm, they will need to bring their own lunch. The cost is $70 per day – only 18 spots are available – registration is open on our website!
Pickleball 301 is a four week class for 3.0 to 3.5 level players. All classes are taught by HRC Pickleball Pros.

Tickets are on sale now for the HBCU MLK Day Unity Invitational, a four-day celebration of unity, community and collegiate basketball. Set to take place January 12-15, 2024, the event will commemorate the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while showcasing 14 basketball teams from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Collegiate team match ups include Claflin University, Clinton College, Fayetteville State University and Johnson C. Smith University, among others.
The tournament will also feature a highly anticipated high school basketball match up and step fest on Sunday January 14.
On Monday January 15, the community are invited to partake in a special MLK Day March to The Well Parade, which will begin at City Hall in downtown Greenville.
