An Asheville cultural festival favorite returns! To celebrate Israel’s 75th birthday and our beloved festival founder, Hanan Weizman, we’re serving up live Israeli music by Ovadya and traditional hand-prepared Israeli delicacies including falafel, schwarma, Israeli desserts and beers galore.
Don’t miss the children’s inflatables and art-studded silent auction featuring prized offerings from local artists and businesses. Inspiring, revealing, and deeply relatable, Being a Ballerina is a first-hand look at the realities of life as a professional ballet dancer. Through episodes of her own career, Gavin Larsen describes the forces that drive a person to study dance; the daily balance that dancers navigate between hardship and joy; and the dancer’s continual quest to discover who they are as a person and as an artist.
Join us for this very special event as we welcome author and dancer Gavin Larsen for readings from her book Being a Ballerina: The Power and Perfection of a Dancing Life. In addition to the reading, the audience will also be treated to a performance of excerpts from the ballet Giselle.
This program is for an audience of all ages, and Malaprops will be on hand to sell copies of Gavin’s book after the event is over.

Monthly fees are all-inclusive based on income. We work to keep our residents living independently as long as possible. We’d love to have you, so please RSVP today to learn more and tour our campus.

Hosted by Morgan Bost. Morgan is an Asheville based comic capturing the playful and often painful parallels between adolescence and “almost-adulthood.” Vibrant yet vulnerable; her high-energy storytelling is influenced by her background as an improviser. She co-hosts a weekly comedy open mic called “The Hot Seat,” and writes a monthly humor column, “Best Medicine with Morgan Bost,” for the Mountain Xpress. She’s opened for Rob Delaney, Beth Stelling, and has appeared in several breweries and discount grocery stores across Western North Carolina.

Featuring Alexis Ramirez About Pulp: The speakeasy inspired hideaway offers a cozy space for show-goers to relax and enjoy a beverage during the concert. Boasting over 200 different Bourbons and Whiskeys, alongside a myriad of other spirits, it is a must-visit for cocktail lovers and Bourbon sippers alike.
