Eliada Homes is a non-profit agency in Asheville that provides a cradle-to-career continuum of services for over 400 children and youth annually. This includes our 5-Star Child Development Center (child care, pre-k, afterschool, and summer camp), Residential mental health programs, Foster Care, adoption services, respite care, equine therapy, intensive in-home therapy, and Workforce-Ready housing assistance for youth aging out of foster care. Established in 1903, we have been helping children succeed for 120 years.

We will be as close to as directly across the parking lot as we can, near the water, with the tent (go past the bathrooms and head to the water). So, you should be able to find us pretty easily if it’s your first time).
We’ll enjoy meditations/visualizations, psychic ability empowerment, chakra activations, and lively discussions about how we can participate in the evolution of the new earth… a world where truth and the ethos of love (e.g.: Law of One) are the guiding forces.

R.Carlos Nakai, of Navajo-Ute heritage, the world’s premier performer of the Native American flute, joins pianist/composer Peter Kater for two evening performances, possibly their last live performance together. Piano and Native American Flute, however an unlikely combination of instruments, when performed by two of the worlds most sensitive performers of those instruments, produces a powerful and profound musical chemistry, of an almost spiritual nature, and unlike any two instruments ever played together! Their music has been described to be of a sacred quality. Kater with two recent Grammy wins for best New Age album, produces a sound on piano often described as hypnotic and healing. Nakai approaches each performance in a ceremonial manner, singing ancient Navajo chants while playing his flutes and blowing his Eagle Bone whistle. “Every concert they have played together in Asheville, leaves audiences in absolute awe. The chemistry of these two musicians and their instruments does something to us all that is impossible to describe in words”. This monthly event is co-sponsored with Blue Ridge Community College\’s Small Business Center, the City of Hendersonville Main Street program, and the Hendersonville Merchants & Business Association features several speakers on timely community events and issues affecting our business community.
As the holiday season starts with Thanksgiving leading the way, many of us count our blessings for all that we have. During this season of gratitude and giving, we may also consider others who are less resourced. Perhaps we volunteer to serve Thanksgiving turkey at a shelter or take a child’s name from an angel tree to provide holiday gifts.
This forum will expand our minds to consider the 365-days a year reality of racial and economic injustices and inequities. We will be inspired by the soulful lyrics of Kyshona Armstrong and then hear the stories of some of our neighbors navigating our housing, financial and criminal justice systems. These stories will challenge our beliefs about why so many people are financially insecure and inspire us to seek solutions.
Village Engage’s Faith & Justice Forum: Economic Liberation for All is a daylong event designed to inform and connect us with inspired solutions and people working to build a community where everyone can thrive. The symposium includes live entertainment, panel discussions and a networking lunch.
