CMI Entertainment Presents Celtic Angels Ireland – A History of Ireland

An evening of Craic (fun) Ceol (music) and Traidisiún (tradition). Get swept away in the enchanting harmonies of the Celtic Angels as they present an impassioned homage to their beloved Emerald Isle.

Take your class on an interplanetary field trip, guided by Ms. Frizzle, in this latest live-action installment of the classic book and TV series.

Acclaimed author and retreat leader Renée Trudeau leads an embodied spiritual experience exploring ways to connect with the Divine in everyday life — including through song, gentle movement, meditation and more. Part of Kanuga’s Lunch & Learn series, the Thursday, March 20 event begins with a nature immersion gathering (weather permitting) at 10 a.m. Trudeau’s “Soul Tending” presentation will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a buffet lunch in Kanuga’s dining hall. The purpose of the Hendo Earth Fest is to promote community education for all ages on environmental and sustainable practices, inspire action, and renew and expand commitments to protect our planet. Local and regional environmental allies focus on participation/hands-on activities and demonstrations designed to educate, renew and expand action to protect our Western North Carolina environment and natural resources. In our first inaugural 2023 festival, we saw approximately 2,000+ participants!
Join us in class with Garden Party! While you enjoy your choice of a Nice Hemp Co gummy, we will walk you through the process of making your own stash jar from start to finish! Perfect for holding your some flower or even your new favorite gummies.

Stephen Kendrick, producer of films such as Courageous, War Room, and The Forge, will serve as keynote speaker for this fundraising event.
Tryon Arts & Crafts School presents the 2025 Glaze Daze seminar with Mayco Colors! This 1-day event includes 3 demonstrations and student exercises in the application of Mayco glaze products. Catered lunch and breakfast from local Tryon establishments are included with your ticket. No experience necessary! Pre-registration is required to attend.
iNaturalist: An Amazing Tool for Identification in Your Pocket with Lauren Lampley.

Learn how a smartphone app, iNaturalist, can both be a very useful identification tool and a way to participate in Community Science! Submitting observations to iNaturalist helps scientists learn more about species by crowd-sourcing information from users all over the world. During this class we will look at the different versions of the app and website as well as take some time outside to practice submitting your own using your own smartphone. The City Nature Challenge will take place from April 25-28 and is a great way to submit iNaturalist observations in a global effort as well as earn a Bioblitz patch from Science Across North Carolina! https://scienceacrossnc.org/
This program takes place in the classroom and outdoors. Please come prepared to walk on gentle, yet uneven terrain, and dress appropriately for the weather.

Mountain Science Expo is 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the NC Arboretum. This is a free STEM-oriented science festival where you can interact with scientists, explore nature, and grow your curiosity. For details, visit ncarboretum.org/event/mountain-science-expo-2025.
The women’s orchestra at Auschwitz-Birkenau, composed entirely of prisoners, was unique in the Nazi camp system.
Dr. Susan Eischeid, who spent decades researching the orchestra and interviewing survivors, will present the history of the orchestra. She will also discuss conductor and virtuoso violinist, Alma Rosé, and founder, Maria Mandl, Head Overseer of the women’s camp and one of the worst perpetrators of the Holocaust.
Dr. Susan Eischeid is Professor of Music at Valdosta State University and served as Principal Oboe with the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra. She is the author of Mistress of Life and Death: The Dark Journey of Maria Mandl, Head Overseer of the Women’s Camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau, published in 2024. Susan has also recorded and released an album of Holocaust music, Mystic Chords of Genocide.

The company’s founder, Haitian-born former Pilobolus dancer Gaspard Louis, has earned international acclaim for his versatile and inventive choreography, drawing inspiration from — among many other sources — the idea of believing in magic, the search for self-acceptance and the spiritual practices of his home country.

Insect Pollinators of the Blue Ridge

Our plants in the Blue Ridge are pollinated by more insects than just Honey Bees. In this course, we will look at common and some less obvious pollinators of the region and discuss their life cycles, the benefits they provide the world, and how to attract them. We will also go outside to look for pollinators doing their work around the Arboretum grounds.
