The WNC Nature Center continues roaring back to life with one of Asheville’s favorite summer traditions — Brews and Bears!
Starting Friday, May 9, from 5:30–8:00 p.m., this after-hours event invites guests to enjoy the Nature Center in the cool evening hours with live music, local food, and plenty of local brews and beverages.
The Brews and Bears Summer Series will take place on the second Friday of each month through August, and each event features a unique lineup of food trucks, musicians, and animal education programs—so no two nights are the same!
All Day Darling, the all-day eatery in Asheville’s historic Montford neighborhood, invites the community to enjoy live music from local musicians every Friday and Saturday from 6-9pm on their patio. This is a commemorative gathering on the first anniversary of Hurricane Helene, both to remember the tragedy and celebrate the resiliency of WNC. Please come out to join with us in this special event as we raise funds for Habitat for Humanity and LEAF Global Arts, so that they might continue the good work they are doing in Asheville and surrounding communities since the storm. Music provided by the Mad Dog Blues Band and Red Clay Revival, featuring Lindsay Pruett. Also, we will attempt to set a world record for the largest drawing ever!

Ticket sales to TACS’ Hearth & Anvil fundraiser will support the school, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, allowing us to continue providing opportunities such as the Helene Relief Artist in Residency Program. While fortunate compared to some, TACS and neighboring Harmon Field were significantly impacted by the storm with property damage, temporary closure, and cancellation of key events and programs. Hearth & Anvil is an opportunity to reflect on the past year and support the school, while enjoying traditional open-flame cooking and interactive art demonstrations alongside our new Terra Flora sculpture. The sculpture was constructed using natural and found materials from the aftermath of the hurricane.
