Guided tours of the decorated 1880 farmhouse, one of the oldest brick structures in Henderson County. Experience what Christmastime was like in the late 1800s and early 1900s at this restored farm owned and operated by the local school system.
This is a ticketed event and reservations are recommended. Drop-ins accommodated if space allows. Self-guided tours are available from 1-3 p.m. weekdays.
Women of the Pacific Northwest celebrates the voices, visions and material mastery of female artists working today, with roots from this rich and progressive region. Through the execution of disparate media from bronze, steel, glass, tin, plaster, mylar, printmaking, hair nets, cloth, rubber, wax to paint, these artists have achieved inventive, creative practices originating from critical, generative, inquisition of natural, social or subliminal forces. This exhibition highlights a group of female artists working in diverse media creating art that explores connections to place, whether sociological, environmental or spiritual, in a region supportive of equality, ecology and enterprise. These artists are among today’s pioneers, interpreting universality through personal observation and inventing poetic, transcendent works inspiring greater, pluralistic understanding, connecting us to one another and to the world around us.

Asheville’s longest running comedy open mic happening every Wednesday night. The show starts at 8:00, and there is no cover. Anyone wanting to perform can sign up starting at 7pm, and will get four minutes on stage. Local and not-so-local, professional and not-so-professional comics perform or just anyone wanting to get up in front of people and try to make them laugh. Always fun. Always free.

Something extraordinary is coming to Asheville this winter! The North Carolina Arboretum and Explore Asheville are elated to announce the arrival of Trolls: A Field Study. Visiting on their first North American excursion, these twelve interactive troll sculptures will explore the Arboretum, embarking on a curious journey to learn about humankind.
Produced by Imagine in collaboration with Danish artist Thomas Dambo, these friendly and fanciful sculptures evoke a sense of wonder and intrigue as they study our small, intricate and inventive ways of life in Western North Carolina. Standing seven to nine feet tall and lovingly described by the artist as “Baby Trolls”, the creatures are crafted from materials like fallen branches, wooden pallets and twigs.
Through their observations, the trolls reveal a fresh perspective on what makes us human, sparking curiosity and laughter in visitors of all ages.
Only cost is the parking fee. No other admission fees.
Grovewood Gallery proudly presents Artful Living: The Spirit of the Craftsman Style, a group exhibition celebrating the enduring influence of the American Arts and Crafts movement. On view from October 18 through December 31, 2025, this curated showcase brings together the work of four contemporary makers who honor traditional craftsmanship while offering fresh perspectives on timeless forms.
Featured artists include ceramicist Leslie Green Guilbault, a Roycroft Artisan whose pottery blends nature, myth, and metallic luster; blacksmith Paul Garrett, known for his handcrafted metalwork and luminous mica lamps inspired by early 20th-century design; furniture maker Timothy Livingston, whose heirloom-quality pieces reflect a deep reverence for honest materials and joinery; and painter Shawn Krueger, a Roycroft Master Artisan whose landscapes echo the quiet mood and tonal beauty of historic plein air work.

Asheville watercolor artist Natalie Ray invites you to an intimate evening celebrating her newest collection, “Born in France,” a one-night-only pop-up exhibition at The Studio on Wall Street in downtown Asheville. Guests will enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to experience the paintings and prints Natalie created during her artist residency in France this summer.
The collection captures the timeless charm and quiet beauty of the French countryside, gardens, and châteaux that inspired her time abroad. Each watercolor reflects a story of discovery, connection, and artistic growth, inviting viewers to wander through landscapes infused with light, memory, and the romance of place.
Attendees will have the chance to meet the artist, hear about her creative journey in France, and view both original works and limited-edition prints available exclusively during this event.
About the Artist
Natalie Ray is a watercolor and 24-karat gold artist based in Asheville, North Carolina. Her work is celebrated for its ethereal light, layered emotion, and storytelling through color. She began painting while living in Barcelona, Spain in 2003–2004 and has since studied under internationally recognized artists within Asheville’s River Arts District. Today she creates from her home studio, where she lives with her husband, musician Justin Ray, and their three children.
The Asheville Symphony combines forces with the incredible Cirque de la Symphonie for a family-friendly holiday-themed performance featuring favorite tunes from Tchaikovsky, John Williams, Brahms, and much more — all while acrobats perform death-defying feats, tumbling through the air and across the stage.
Members of the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra will join the Asheville Symphony Orchestra for select pieces, celebrating the amazing talent of our student musicians on this performance!

Bullington Gardens will host its beloved Annual Holiday Greenery and Craft Sale on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 95 Upper Red Oak Trail, Hendersonville. This festive fundraiser offers visitors the opportunity to shop for fresh, locally sourced holiday greenery and unique handcrafted gifts while supporting Bullington Gardens’ mission of education, horticultural therapy, and community enrichment.

“Bakers of every age are encouraged to create their best gingerbread man or woman, boy or girl! We are looking for the most artistic creations the entrants can cook up,” said Barbara Hughes, owner of Narnia Studios. There are four categories: traditional, unusual, bakers under 14 and teamwork”, added Hughes.
The rules are simple: they must be 100% edible and the deadline for entries is December 1, 2025. We will announce the winners during our 29th Annual Christmas Open House on December 2nd and have all the cookies on display throughout that weekend. The December exhibit in the Art Place Gallery features “Wonder,” an exhibition of work by sculptor Susan Smith Perry, a South Carolina-based artist. For this exhibition, Perry will transform bamboo and handmade paper into a kinetic sculptural installation. In addition, artwork from local artists, representing a variety of media will be exhibited.
The Art Place Gallery in downtown Hendersonville holds an opening reception for its monthly exhibits on the first Friday of every month. The gallery is a dynamic visual arts center managed by members of the Art League of Henderson County.
