*Assembly Required, the premiere Southeast destination for designer, bootleg and art toy artists and collectors is going VIRTUAL, with their event Virtually Assembled: An *Assembly Required Experience. Streaming live February 6-7, 2021 on www.assembly-required.net, the event will include interviews with artists, studio tours, artist exclusives, surprises from Toybox, America’s Favorite Cartoon Witch, and much, much more!
With molding, and production techniques, designer toy artists echo the production methods of traditional toy manufacturers. Refining inspiration from a variety of underground and subcultural elements, *Assembly Required honors this true to form, turn of the century avant-garde/pop surrealistic art movement. 2021 will be *Assembly Required’s third year celebrating this melting pot of artistic expression.

Join us for 7 weeks on Zoom for a fun and interactive Dance class covering the fundamentals of dance for the theater! Each week, we will warm up our bodies, learn new basic jazz, ballet, and musical theatre steps, and work on a fun new dance combination to some of our favorite songs. Some past combinations featured songs from Hamilton, Wicked, The Greatest Showman, Lady GaGa, Trolls and more! Students will learn a recorded dance combination performance which will be shared with families after the final class.
7 Week Session: January 13-February 24, 2021

Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.
The special Schaefer Center Presents production will include a recorded introduction by BalletX co-founder Christine Cox, the BalletX 15th Anniversary Season video, and mixed rep selections “Increasing” and “Fancy Me.” In honor of BalletX’s 15th Anniversary Season, the company has commissioned a documentary film by Daniel Madoff that highlights its growth, trajectory, and continued commitment to redefining ballet in the 21st century. Known as Philadelphia’s premier contemporary ballet company, BalletX commissions choreographers from around the world to create new ballets that are “fresh, inclusive, and connect to what people want” (Philadelphia Citizen). Led by Artistic & Executive Director Christine Cox, BalletX has produced nearly 100 world premiere ballets by more than 50 choreographers, and performed for over 100,000 audience members at home and on tour, including appearances at such prestigious venues as the Kennedy Center, Vail Dance Festival, Joyce Theater, and Jacob’s Pillow.

Join us May 13-16 for the second annual LEAF ReTreat – a weekend event to rejuvenate the soul and spark your inspiration so that we can continue building connection and bridging communities. Join Buncombe County Public Libraries, Buncombe County Recreation Services, and the Asheville Museum of Science for the NC Science Festival’s main event, the Star Party! We’ll be hosting a socially distanced, outdoor event for all ages at Cane Creek Pool on Friday, April 16. The program starts with a very special space-themed story time with songs, dance, and puppets at 6 PM. Story time will be followed by a short intermission, and then families are invited to join AMOS astronomer Hary Lazich for a presentation about the night sky.
This program will be held outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, our rain date is the following evening, Saturday, April 17.
Capacity is limited for this free event, and registration is required.
For the safety of staff, presenters, and attendees, we will be enforcing safety precautions for the duration of the program. As part of the registration process, attendees will sign a waiver indicating they understand that all members of their party will wear a mask and stay in their designated circles in the grass. You are welcome to bring blankets or chairs to make your circle extra comfortable!


Join us for our 2-day Mountain Cheer and Dance Nationals in Asheville, NC. Our host, the Harrah’s Cherokee Center and exploreasheville.com arena.
All teams will perform twice at this event. Group and solo performances will only perform once.
It will be a spring floor event and a fun ending to your season with jackets awarded to supreme grand champions and rings awarded to grand champions.
We will host an individual, duo, stunt group and team competition for dance and cheer.
On site we will have an event vendor selling custom bows, t-shirts, and awesome other apparel.
Spectator Admission: Each spectator will need to purchase their entry. Use of credit cards may incur additional fees. Children under 3 years old are FREE.

Maximum Cheer and Dance is a non-sanctioned IEP. We follow industry standard rules and guidelines, but do not require USASF membership.
