Restart your wellness in a safe, judgment-free environment. Miranda Watson’s Gentle Yoga class focuses on connecting the breath with movement to calm and soothe the nervous system and soften the body into openness and stillness. The class ends with a guided meditation for deep relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat and any props you might need. No experience necessary.

With installation complete on a brand-new, venue-wide air filtration system, the Wortham Center is excited to reintroduce classes at the facility. Gentle yoga class is held on Thursdays from 9-10 a.m. No reservations required.

About Miranda: As a lifelong dancer, Miranda Watson was drawn to yoga for the physical benefits — but soon discovered that it also helped her to manage stress and quiet the mind. She quickly fell in love with yoga, became a certified yoga instructor, and has now been practicing yoga since 2002.

Sacred Self Astrology Workshop
Feb 15 all-day
Mount Inspiration Apparel

How do we tap into the inner union of the masculine and feminine within ourselves? Shamanic astrology offers a unique lens into this process by looking at the natal placement of the Moon, Mars, and Venus. This workshop is for anyone looking to gain greater insight into their personal path toward archetypal inner wholeness. In these three hours you will have such an understanding of your own inner union, that you will be able to confidently avoid “outsourcing” – or projecting your inner masculine or feminine onto partners, friends, family, and co-workers unconsciously. You will have the tools for more completeness, based on your own astrological placement.

With access to your own charts, we will work your individual natal placements followed by a movement/embodiment practice. We’ll vision into what the inner union between these archetypes might look like in your life. We will work as a community, sharing and holding each other accountable.

Mars and Venus, the masculine and feminine planetary bodies in the sky, will be JOINED in February & March! That means this is the PERFECT time for this workshop! Sign up today!

Yoga + Live Music w/ Tara + Hope
Feb 26 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
One World Brewing West

Yoga & Live Music w/ Tara & Hope

Wandering through this life we connect with the magic of the elements of nature. Through the earth, our breath, yoga and sweet music we ground deep in our roots. We return to our heart space. The air is wild, free and full of possibility. Water nourishes our souls while reminding us to go with the flow… We ignite the fire of passion and light an awakening within, becoming one with the elements and connecting under one sun with one voice. Join International Yoga Instructor Tara Eschenroeder (aka “Great Abiding Yoga”) and Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter Hope Griffin for a yoga flow with live music. May we align our breath to free movement and the rhythm of our hearts!

From a primal flow to the beat of finger tapping, to a gentle meditative dance to harmonics, to meditation to the croons of the guitar, to the transcendental hum of the voice of an angel, the rhythms of the music guide us as we connect with our own internal rhythms and sense of knowing.

Hope and Tara will take you on a journey of the senses. While drinking in the sacred sounds of the music, we take that the ability to listen and to feel even deeper within. We tap into that intuitive sense of knowing; how and when to move and when to be still. Allow yourself to reconnect to that sacred animal within, ultimately reminding us how to simply be both on and off of the yoga mat.

Thursday Night Lenten Series: The Benedictine Life
Mar 3 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
St. John in the Wilderness

272311371_3088642561352244_8287620336684229845_n.jpg

All are invited to join St. John in the Wilderness for any or all of our Lenten Series sessions, to take place each Thursday evening in Lent. The evenings each have three offerings, all of which are open to the public with adults and youth most welcome. You do not have to be present for all three portions of the event to participate. See below for details.

  • Evening Prayer at 6:00 in the Atrium Chapel of the Parish Hall

  • Dinner at 6:30 in the Parish Hall – RSVP required below – $8/person or $20/family of 3+

  • Program from 7:00 to 8:00 in the Parish Hall, or join via Zoom with RSVP

Our Lenten program this year will be led by the Sisters of the Community of St. Mary. These Episcopal Nuns live at their convent in Sewanee, TN and are members of a monastic movement that goes back to 1865 when their order was started in New York. The sisters will take turns sharing with us the richness of their ancient monastic way of life. Together we will learn about their Benedictine way of living that includes prayers, work, radical hospitality, rich community, accountability, and more. While many think of monks and nuns as being something restricted to the Roman Catholic Church, the Episcopal Church has a long history of monastic life that continues to influence our churches to this day.

For the first session on March 3, we will host the Prioress of the Community of St. Mary, Sister Madeleine Mary, who will travel from Sewanee to be with us. Sister Madeleine Mary has been living in religious life for over 50 years having entered the cloister after teaching middle school in New York and spending time advocating for environmental justice issues.

In the sessions following on March 10, March 17, March 24, March 31, and April 7, we will meet in person at the Parish Hall to gather for a virtual visit with other Sisters from the Order, including Sister Hannah Winkler, who made her life profession in January 2021, and Sister Elizabeth Grace, who will share on the Rule of St. Benedict’s emphasis on humility. You may also participate on Zoom for any of the sessions, but we will hope you will join us in person if you can. Click here to sign up to be emailed a Zoom link.

All are also invited to join us for Evening Prayer in the Atrium Chapel of the Parish Hall at 6:00pm on each Thursday in Lent (March 3 – April 7). Dinner follows at 6:30pm in the Parish Hall. RSVP and pay for dinner by clicking one of the boxes below by Tuesday of each week so food is not wasted. Masks will be required except when eating.

Sister Madeleine Mary will also be preaching at St. John in the Wilderness on Sunday, March 6, at the 8:45 and 11:00 services. Please join us as we journey through Lent together.

The Super Glow Breathwork Experience

The Super Glow Breathwork Experience: The Special Crystal Circuit, Healing Breathwork Journey

Our Signature Breathwork Journey for Vitality & Holistic Healing. We are very excited to invite you to join us in community for breathwork in front of a super powerful, high vibration crystal altar at Altar Alchemy. To breathe in front of this sacred altar is what we call “The Crystal Circuit”.

To practice with the breath is to practice connecting to the truth within. It’s to let go of all that’s ready to be released and open to that which is ready to be born. In this workshop we will be utilizing the scientifically proven, potent and effective modality of rebirthing breathwork to unveil and release stagnancy lingering in the body, mind, and spirit. By opening ourselves to the power of breath we are able to manually remove these energetic blockages, making available a clearer psyche and creative life force. This practice is transformational, insightful, a pathway for infinite possibility and heightened consciousness.

Breathwork’s natural benefits:

Rewire your emotional default settings

Stimulate your immune system

Open up to more life force energy

Clear patterns of sadness/anxiety/depression/addiction

Improve sleep

Detoxify your mind/body/spirit

Gain access to a greater sense of aliveness

Promote feelings of aliveness, peace & connection

Connect you to self-knowledge/intuition/higher wisdom

Awaken your authentic & embodied self

Discover your innate authenticity, freedom & joy

Help access your creativity & open your heart to deep gratitude & self-love

Breathwork is a safe & simple experiential process. During the breathwork session we breathe lying down for over an hour. This practice is available to everyone regardless of ability, age or experience.

We will use a connected & conscious breathing rhythm called “circular breath” to flood the body with O2. In addition, for those who desire It, you will be supported with our powerful, hands on reiki & energy work during the session. This breathwork journey will last for approximately 70 minutes and will be accompanied by a powerful musical playlist to assist the journey. There will be an opening & closing circle, before and after, to share intentions, guidance and reflections.

Come and explore the emotional, spiritual and transpersonal realms and come home to your own truth. Wear loose & comfortable clothing so that you can breathe & move without restriction. You will want to bring your own yoga mat, or anything that would help you to deepen into relaxation.

All are welcome. Join us!
