Revival is a nod to Chef Kevin’s formative years, offering a proper version of the traditional Sunday dinner. Following Kevin’s allegiance to Southern cuisine, Revival focuses on farm-fresh ingredients and a dining experience that reflects the traditions his own family follows. The restaurant’s menu is a reinterpretation of what one would find at Gillespie’s grandmother’s house: a classic, Southern spread that features farm-fresh ingredients and also showcases refined culinary techniques.
When guests dine at Revival, they will feel the importance of sitting down and sharing a meal with loved ones – the same traditions that Gillespie’s own family held dear, and that we honor at Half-Mile Farm.
Gillespie was a finalist in the sixth season of Top Chef, Bravo’s cooking competition show and was voted as the “Fan Favorite” contestant for the season.

Asheville GreenWorks 2nd annual Environmental Excellence Awards & Trashion Show featuring over 20 local designers strutting their one of a kind eco-fashion designs down the runway. VIP tickets get an open bar, front row seating and a VIP meet and greet.
Growing up gay in Fargo, North Dakota was never easy, but it did provide Drew with an abundance of material to sling off about his family, sex education, the big move to NYC, and what it means to be “Midwest nice.” He hosts two monthly shows at West Side Comedy Club in NYC, “Bottomless” and “Homo You Didn’t,” and just premiered a third, “Haus Party,” at Chelsea Music Hall. He’s performed at West Side Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, and Greenwich Village Comedy Club in NYC, and recently made his international debut at “The Comedy Mix” in Vancouver. When Drew’s not fighting the police with tap shoes, his “easy confidence and stage presence” has been likened to “being on a dinner date that’s going really well.” (Theatre Jones,TX). Get to #knowyourbutcher Matt Helms as he demonstrates a complete breakdown of a side of Warren Wilson College Farm Heritage breed pastured hog. He’ll discuss the different cuts that retail stores demand, as well as cooking techniques.

Mayfest is the one of the longest running festivals in N.C., drawing visitors from across the region for a full day of springtime, family fun. Annual entertainment and traditions will be enjoyed including live music from Rutherford County Line and the Houston Bernard Band, a Car, Truck and Bike Show, and a variety of artisans and crafters showcasing their one-of-a-kind items. Youngsters will have a ball in the Kids Playland featuring inflatables and rock climbing walls, plus obstacle courses, face painting, and the Pinewood Derby Race. Local dancers, gymnasts and cheerleaders will perform, a Doggie Kissing booth will be open, and friendly fur babies will take the spotlight during the 4 Paws Kingdom Pet Contest. No festival is complete without fabulous food vendors. Indulge yourself with delicious BBQ, turkey legs, roasted corn, stir-fry, funnel cakes, kettle corn, cotton candy, homemade ice cream, and much more.

Geoff Tate is most likely watching “Cheers” right now. A Cincinnati-based comedian, he has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and regularly tours with Doug Benson and Doug Stanhope. He made his television debut on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, and is a regular on Doug Loves Movies, as well as Getting Doug with High. The Montford Festival will celebrate its 16th year as the largest free street festival in Asheville. Held on the main street of the historic Montford district, it features food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities and continuous music until 7pm. Free parking on neighborhood streets or at the Asheville Visitors Center.
The Asheville Food Truck Showdown is an annual event produced by area local Carey Harnash to promote regional food trucks, local charities, area artisans, and live musicians. Admission is free, the event is open to the public, and is always family and pet friendly.
Please come out and support your favorite truck or try something new, but the best way to get a taste of what the trucks have to offer is through the VIP Tasting Experience. This unique tasting experience offers early admission starting at 11:00 am (general admission begins at noon), exclusive early access to the Anderson Nissan VIP Tent, a sample from ALL 18* trucks, 2 beverages (including your choice of beer, cider, soda, or water), a Tyvek bracelet permitting adult beverage purchases throughout the day, and a chance to help determine the 2019 VIP Tasters’ Choice Award Winner. Rap with all your friends and dig the music of Michael Baughman. Then munch out on the classic BBQ of
Bird Mountain and Tim Wright. Soak in the fabulous wines which are grown, bottled and produced on
Mountain Brooks’ spectacular seven-acre vineyard.
Asheville’s Power Band, “The Paper Crowns” will take the stage as the evening gets rolling. Then, as the
sun goes down, toss down a blanket let the Polk County Film initiative take you on a trip to
“Woodstock”. See how 50,000 tickets holders brought along 500,000 of their friends and turned
Woodstock into a pivoting point of the pop culture.

Paul Ollinger is a nationally-touring comedian, podcaster and corporate refugee. After 15 years selling advertising for companies like Yahoo! and Facebook, Paul launched the comedy career that has taken him all over North America, opening for legends like Norm Macdonald, Dave Attell, Daniel Tosh and Roseanne Barr. He has performed in the Laughing Skull, Asheville, Cleveland, DC, and North Carolina comedy festivals. Earlier this year, he headlined the legendary Carolines on Broadway in New York City. Paul is the host of the Crazy Money podcast in which he interviews celebrities, authors, and everyday people to find out how they think about money. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two kids.
