Important Information
The performances of Oklahoma! at the Peace Center have been postponed to the fall of 2021.
“How is it that the coolest new show on Broadway is a 1943 musical?” says The New York Times. This is Oklahoma! as you’ve never seen or heard it before — reimagined for the 21st century, and now the Tony Award® winner for Best Revival of a Musical. Funny and sexy, dark and jolting, this acclaimed production of Oklahoma! “lets us experience Rodgers and Hammerstein’s greatness anew” (The New Yorker).
Stripped down to reveal the darker psychological truths at its core, Daniel Fish’s production tells a story of a community circling its wagons against an outsider, and the frontier life that shaped America. Upending the sunny romance of a farmer and a cowpoke, this Oklahoma! allows the classic musical — and our country — to be seen in a whole new light.
“This production shocked me and moved me,” raves Frank Rich of New York Magazine. “This is the Oklahoma! that was there all along.” The Daily Beast raves “Forget your traditional idea of Oklahoma! Daniel Fish’s daring, brilliant, utterly absorbing re-interpretation is dark and different — brilliantly so.”
Audience Advisory: Contains fog, loud gunshot effects, moments of total darkness, and violence.

A native of Durham, NC, Jeremy Loeb embraced his lifelong love of piano when he launched his second career as a musician. Now living in Asheville, Loeb specializes in French and Chinese piano music. With the fuel of country, southern rock and delta blues pumping through his veins, CJ Solar is a natural at fusing his influences with pure musical talent and unparalleled vocal chops to create his signature sound. In 2019, his vocals, songwriting and rousing stage performances won him “Independent Artist of the Year” at the 2019 Annual MusicRow CountryBreakout Awards and led to a MusicRow Awards nomination for “Breakthrough Artist-Writer.”
Solar’s 2018 sophomore EP “Get Away With It” yielded the Top 15 singles “Airplane” and “American Girls,” two of the highest charting singles from an independent artist. Rolling Stone Country listed “Airplane” as one of their “10 Best Country and Americana Songs of the Week.” His latest project, “Coming My Way,” hit May 1, 2020. The title track single became his first to hit the Top 10 on MusicRow and peaked at #31 on the Billboard Indicator chart.

Cellist and singer-songwriter Shana Tucker exudes musical magnetism, making fans from critics wherever she goes. With a deep respect for lyrical storytelling, her breathtaking, often intimate performances are steeped in a sound uniquely her own, a new genre the rising star calls chamber-soul. Both on and off stage, she charms her audiences, weaving melodies together from a mix of music — classical and jazz, strong hints of soulful folk, acoustic pop, a touch of R&B — creating a musical tapestry with distinctive rhythmic patterns. Often described as a blend of Dianna Reeves, Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman, with a complexity reminiscent of Bill Withers, Shana’s style and sound is internationally renowned by fans of all genres, touted as a talent “whose imprint and vitality has already been quite visible,” in JazzTimes Magazine.
