Join us Tuesday nights, beginning April 13th, as The Magnetic Theatre teams up with the wizards at Smoky Park Supper Club to host a live, outdoor variety show. We’ll be filling Smoky Park’s gorgeous, riverside outdoor space with comedy, theatre, music and so much more.

There will be food and beverages available for purchase.

• This is a BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Chair) event.
• In accordance with safety guidelines this show will be staged outdoors, with mask and social distancing protocols enforced. There will also be temperature checks and COVID waivers that need to be signed by each attendee at the gate.
• Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the 7pm showtime.
• We do require that masks be worn at all times unless you are actively eating or drinking.

Celebrate the talents of over 100 young artists in a joyful night of theatrical performances benefitting the education programs of Flat Rock Playhouse. This virtual production will take you on a dazzling journey through musical theatre and acting features that are perfect for the whole family. Rising Stars: A Virtual Benefit Cabaret comes to your home, phone, or laptop on June 10 and 11 at 7 PM EST. This online production is recommended for kids ages 5 to 100.

Recorded on the Rock and at home, Rising Stars: A Virtual Benefit Cabaret has a run time of roughly one hour and is offered for a minimum donation of $5! “We’re so inspired by the dedication, resiliency, and creativity of our young artists this last year,” says Director of Education Anna Kimmell. “This benefit cabaret is a joyful opportunity to celebrate their work and talents as well as support a bright future for generations to come at Flat Rock Playhouse!”

Studio 52 began their virtual offerings in September 2020. Since then, Studio 52 has offered 25 virtual classes to over 300 students and has hosted three virtual workshops with experienced theatre professionals Adam Kaplan, Pytron Parker, and Fergie L. Philippe. With updates to in-person procedures based on government guidelines, Studio 52 is able to offer both virtual and in-person camps in the summer of 2021. Studio 52 is supported by Walnut Cove Members Association. Tanglewood Youth Theatre has long been a successful and inspirational part of children’s creative education in Western North Carolina. Our theatre camp has been extremely popular and is well-suited for any young person interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre. Our faculty represents some of the finest talent in the area, and we are thrilled to have them at Tanglewood.

For each session, classes include acting, music, movement, film, and design. Each session ends with a showcase for family and friends!

For ages 8-13:

All camp sessions will meet 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Each session will enroll up to 30 students total split into 3 groups of 10 students. Masks will be required. This summer, there will not be a final showcase for an audience of family and friends. Tuition: $275 / Scholarships available.

The concert will  be held outside on the stage in the Firefly Meadow with lots of open space for
everyone. This is a FREE concert being sponsored by Hunter Subaru of Fletcher.
The Hungry Ghost food truck will be on site selling some great food items too. The July concert will be held on July 9th featuring the Tuxedo Junction band, and the summer concert series will wrap up on August 13th with the Super 60’s band.
