Dive into Broadway repertoire and character analysis in this class that celebrates “I want” songs; the musical moment spotlighting a protagonist’s hopes and dreams. With a focus on acting through song, intention, and motivation, young artists will discover what drives a character as they learn, develop, and perform a musical revue of “I want” songs presented at the end of the semester in an original virtual showcase.

A Sowing Circle Presentation: Presenter: John Bowen, Extension Master GardenerSM Volunteer This three-part program is presented by John Bowen, Extension Master GardenerSM volunteer and long-time gardener. John shares tips and tricks for starting seeds indoors and tending the young plants until they are ready to transplant into your garden. He talks about containers, planting media, lights, temperature, and other parts of the process to grow those healthy, robust transplants we all need. He also discusses timing and helps us learn when to plant for the best outcome. No matter how thorough and fair a reappraisal may be, there are still instances when only the property owner has all the information necessary for an accurate appraisal. Informal appeals for the tax year 2021 can be filed anytime between Jan. 1-April 28, 2021. Additionally, anyone receiving a change of value notice after April 1, 2021 has thirty days from that notice date to file an appeal.

This annual conference brings together student EcoReps, sustainability interns, and faculty and staff advisers from around the region for a weekend of peer leadership training and collaboration. This conference is a great opportunity to learn from your peers, share your successes (and get constructive feedback), and get inspiration you can bring back to your own campus.
Key topics in 2021 will include:
• Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion in our work
• Effective Student Leadership/ Peer 2 Peer education
• Zero Waste initiatives
• Educational initiatives & events
• Adapting to COVID-19
• Translating student visions into institutional action
This conference will be held VIRTUALLY due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

There is no fee to attend, however, you must register to participate in the virtual sessions. The registration deadline is Friday, March 19 at midnight.
Traveling Trunks and Kits are an economical way to bring the Museum to YOU! Rental fee is a refundable deposit of $15 per trunk. Trunks include many artifacts and a week of lessons.
Trunk deposits are always refundable, but if you choose to donate your deposit, these funds are used to assist students with economic needs to be able to come on field trips or to Living History Days.

A trained museum volunteer or staff person will present any of the above topics in your school. Programs may be presented to as many as 50 students per presentation (some are more hands-on and 25 students would be more appropriate).
Cost is $3 per student.
Choose a program, traveling trunk/kit, or suggest a custom program. Craft topics may include an extra supply fee.

Asheville’s economic and building boom of the 1920s created a rarified atmosphere unique within Western North Carolina. Douglas Ellington is known as the architect who changed Asheville into an Art Deco showplace. With his ability to combine architectural styles he produced a series of one of a kind buildings—buildings which changed the face of Asheville—the City Building, Asheville High School, First Baptist Church and S&W Cafeteria. Douglas Ellington: Asheville’s Boomtown Architect presents a look at his iconic Asheville creations along with other buildings he completed throughout his career in other cities.

March is Red Cross Month, and for more than 130 years, heroic American Red Cross volunteers have provided hope and urgent relief to families in communities across the country.
This March the community is invited to join in the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross and be
someone’s hero by rolling up a sleeve to give blood.
According to the Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds to respond to
patient emergencies. Accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients,
and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease may all require blood.
All blood types are needed.
Be a hero in your community by rolling up a sleeve….
To make an appointment or to learn more, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor
App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enable the Blood
Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device. Completion of a RapidPass® online health history
questionnaire is encouraged to help speed up the donation process. To get started, follow the
instructions at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App. A blood donor card
or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who
are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh
at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High
school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height
and weight requirements.

Supplies Needed: An internet connection. This class will use household art supplies such as paper, pencil, pens, magazines, scissors, etc.

In this three-week course, you’ll pinpoint types of brands you’ll easily book, characteristics your unique voice offers, and how to put a demo together so that you can submit to agents for representation! Taking this class is the first step to a successful commercial voice over career from home!
Bio for Instructor Jessica Lynn Verdi:
Jessica Lynn Verdi is an improviser, actress, social media influencer, and producer born and raised in Los Angeles. She has performed in improvised plays in the style of Tennessee Williams, Dorothy Parker, Nora Ephron, Inspector Morse, Star Trek: TNG, and more. Jessica is the producer, director, and a performer in “Actor’s Nightmare”, “X-Files UnClassified”, and Ripley’s “GLAM” at Impro Studio in Los Angeles. She is also the co-creator and host of “Flip the Script” podcast, a gender-flipped vintage radio show, and can be seen regularly on the Twitch channel Hyper RPG as Hannah from “Rat Queens” and Chrissy from “Bloodcurdling Tales from the Loop”. Jessica also spoke on the “How to be a Superstar Host” panel at San Diego Comic Convention and starred in a Buzzfeed video that recieved over 1 million views. Jessica can be heard as the voice of Best Buy for their most recent radio advertising campaign.

Get moving in this fun, high-energy dance class focusing on Broadway-style choreography through the decades. Each live zoom class features a full-body warm up, a step-by-step breakdown of theatre dance vocabulary, and Broadway-style choreography to learn and perfect throughout the semester. Join Studio 52 to get a weekly workout, learn how to fill your movement with character, and step into your next dance audition or production feeling confident!
