HRC is proud to announce an addition to its tournament series…the Winter Blast Fast4 Indoor Doubles Tournament! This one day tournament will be on Saturday, December 28th. Plenty of great action will be on court, TVs will have all the College Football games on, and food and prizes will be provided.
The divisions will be: Men’s and Women’s Open, NTRP 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5.
Senior (50+) NTRP Men’s and Women’s 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5.
There will be no mixed doubles or any singles.
The Fast4 shortened format for each set offers a “fast” alternative to tennis, with four points, four games, and five rules: no-ad scoring, service lets are played, tie-breaks are played at three games all, the first to four games wins the set, best 2-out-of-3 Fast4 sets will be used with Match Tiebreak in lieu of 3rd Fast 4 Set.
Each player is guaranteed to play 2-5 matches during the tournament. USTA Southern will be handing out prizes for everyone and free food and drink will be provided. There is a $25.00 entry fee for one event, and a $50 entry fee for players to participate in two events.

Hendersonville Racquet Club is a six acre complex that includes 7 outdoor tennis courts, 3 indoor tennis courts, four racquetball courts, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, group fitness classes, three pickleball courts and outdoor leisure area by Shaw’s Creek and pond.

Skate, Roll, & Stroll is a disability-friendly time on the Big Ice! Come out in your wheelchair or walker, be pulled around the ice on a sled or in a wagon, walk on the ice or try your hand at ice skating!
Skate Roll and Stroll sessions will be held from 10am – 12pm. Ice walkers are free and available first come, first served. Guests are encouraged to bring their own sleds, wagons, and helmets. Volunteers will be available to assist with guests as needed.
This event is free of charge and offers free parking in the VIP lot off of Church Street. Free ADA parking is available in the loading dock parking lot off of Academy Street. Be sure to arrive early at 9:30am to lace up your skates!

For the special New Year’s Eve event, the Battery Park Book Exchange will have extended hours through midnight and features non-stop live music through the night. The shop will be decorated to match the “Black and White” theme and guests are encouraged to join the fun by dressing in black and white and wearing a face mask. Note: The cafe area will be open to non-ticketed customers.
This will be the Black and White Gala, in the tradition of Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball held for all the swells at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. Capote served Tattinger and all guests came in their finest black and white, and wore elaborate masks. We invite our patrons to do the same, and we will have some masks to loan as well.

The 6th Annual Resolution Run 10 Mile Run & 5k Run/Walk races through the streets of Downtown Asheville, NC on New Year’s Day, at a reasonable 10:00 am. Start 2020 off with a bang! This race welcomes families and participants of all ages to come run or crawl their way to completing their first resolution! Bring warm layers of clothes, tie up your running shoes, and get ready to ‘run into’ 2020!
We are excited to partner again with the YMCA of Western North Carolina, iDream Athletes Foundation and the Western Carolina Rescue Ministries for the 2020 Resolution Run! As one of our 2020 Resolution Run Charity Partners, the Downtown Asheville YMCA will host our Pre-Event Packet-Pickup as well as be out and along the race course to keep you hydrated and energized! The WCRM will host a shoe drive at packet pickup and on race day. So BRING SHOES, BRING SHOES, BRING SHOES! Especially gently used or new tennis shoes! Tennis shoes seem to be the best, as the homeless population likes them because they hold up for such a long period of time. The shoes that the WCRM receive during the Resolution Run event will go towards their annual “Foot Care Clinic”.

Swamp Rabbits Hockey offers fantastic fun for the whole family! The Greenville Swamp Rabbits play in the South Division of the Eastern Conference of the ECHL, the premiere AA hockey league.
