Our Financial Series is made up of two distinct classes that, when taken in order, comprehensively cover the basic financial skills and tools that every entrepreneur needs to start and run a successful business.
Tickets for each class can be purchased individually, but if you know you want to attend both classes, we recommend purchasing a discounted Financial Series Pass.
Classes included in the Financial Series:
Financial Tools, March 12 + 19 – Financial Tools will introduce you to the tools to understand the basics of business finance so you can make informed decisions on how to organize and manage your business finances. Topics discussed are record keeping; bookkeeping; accounting; creating, understanding and using financial statements and reports. Individual Price: $50
QuickBooks Online, March 26 + April 2 – this class provides an overview of QuickBooks and the different subscription levels, and will teach you how to navigate the dashboard and explore the reporting feature to generate reports that can be customized to your needs. When you complete this class, you’ll know the best ways to get around, enter day-to-day transactions, get the information you need out of QuickBooks, and powerful report tools that’ll help your business make good decisions. Partner Marketing Made Easy: Low Tech Ways to Sell Online
Presenter: Derrick Duplessy
This workshop will demonstrate how to sell products online person to person – without complicated technology. Professionals from Acceleration Partners (AP) will work directly with each attendee on how to implement these low tech sales strategies. AP works with companies like Warby Parker, Reebok, and adidas to implement these strategies. Presenter Derrick Duplessy is the founder of the Duplessy Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to teaching the sales process to women, immigrants, and minority business owners.
- Tax Provisions for Individuals & Businesses – This resource breaks down individual taxpayer relief and credits as well as the expansion of the Employee Retention Tax Credit and other business tax benefits.
- Key Provisions for Employee Benefits & Plan Administrators – This publication outlines key changes designed to preserve the health benefits for involuntary terminations, dependent care assistance, credits for paid sick and family leave, and updates affecting pension plans.
Tuesday, Governor Roy Cooper signed three Executive Orders. Executive Order 206 extends North Carolina’s statewide residential eviction moratorium through June 30, 2021, in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s recent extension of the nationwide moratorium through the same date. Executive Order 207 expedites the processing of unemployment insurance claims and is also effective through June 30, 2021. Executive Order 205 extends the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABC Commission)’s authorization to permit the delivery or carry-out of mixed beverages as an alternative to on-site consumption through April 30, 2021.

The Western Arts Agencies of North Carolina (WNC Arts) was established in 1980s as a peer support group for arts councils and agencies in WNC. This group is now working to expand their advocacy support for the arts in WNC.

The Asheville Tourists are hosting two more seasonal employment Job Fairs for those interested in working at the ballpark. The two Job Fairs are scheduled for Tuesday, April 6 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm and Saturday, April 10 from 9:00am – 11:00am.
Interviews will take place at McCormick Field in a safe and socially distanced setting. Masks are required at all times while at the ballpark.
Openings in our Food and Beverage department feature: Cashiers, Cooks, Mobile Food Runners, Concession Stand Leads, and General Concessions Positions.
The Tourists are interviewing for additional openings in Customer Service and Fan Experience, such as Ushers, Bag Checkers, Restroom Attendants and Safety Ambassadors. Positions are also available in the Merchandise Store, Groundskeeping Department, and Parking Attendants.
Job descriptions and detailed information on all available positions can be accessed via the Seasonal Job Fair page on the Tourists website. Applications may be downloaded online or filled out at the ballpark upon arrival. Join the Tourists team by coming out to McCormick Field for the 2021 Seasonal Job Fairs.
