Starting April 8th, you can ride ArtAVL’s new free ArtsAVL Connect Trolley – connecting the Downtown and River Arts Districts with two overlapping routes. The initiative is a partnership between ArtsAVL and Gray Line Asheville. Beginning April 8th, two chartered Gray Line trolleys will circulate on 20-30 minute intervals from 12-8 pm on every Second Saturday. Riders are welcome to hop on and off anywhere along the trolley routes. The Downtown Trolley connects the main areas of the Central Business District to the River Arts District. The River Arts Trolley loops throughout the River Arts District. This exhibition tour focuses on the Museum’s Collection of American art of the 20th and 21st centuries, exploring the connection between art and artists of WNC/Southern Appalachia and the US at large. Intersections of American Art presents three themes loosely derived from and inspired by Black Mountain College. Many objects reflect Time & Place in which artists created them, capturing a particular moment, a national mood, or geographical location. Other artists took risks through Experiments in Material & Form, using non-traditional art materials or questioning what defines a painting, sculpture, photograph, or other art form. Some artworks are enriched by Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Dialogue, in which multiple artists worked together or partnered with musicians, scientists, or other professionals in the creative process. This exhibition is organized and curated by the Asheville Art Museum. Major support for this project is provided by the Henry Luce Foundation. This project is also funded in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Join us at Eliada Home’s campus for a small group guided walking Farm Tour. Tours last approximately 1 hour. Participants will learn about outdoor and greenhouse growing practices, aquaponics, hydroponics, market gardening, corn maze production, and about our equine therapy program.

Reservations required. There is no cost, but donations to the non-profit agency are greatly appreciated.
