Bee City – Asheville Presentation: Introduction to Pollinators

This winter and spring join us for an introduction to pollinators presented by Bee City USA Asheville. Pollinators are under threat, but

there’s plenty we can do to help right in our backyards.

We’ll talk about:

• What is pollination
• The importance of pollination
• Pollinators & their identification
• The importance of pollinator habitat

The presenter for this program will be Athena Rayne Anderson who holds PhD in Ecology with a focus on native pollinators. Athena is also a Certified Pollinator Steward through the Pollinator Partnership and works with Bee City USA Asheville to promote the value of native pollinator plants.

Directed by Laura Cook Brundage, Jon Reid, and Katelyn Ohler, this concert features a variety of beautiful repertoire that is sure to inspire and delight audiences of all ages.

Exploring the often turbulent relationship between adult children and parents, and the difficulties a couple faces in the twilight years of a long marriage, On Golden Pond is a heartwarming and hilarious show about generations of a family learning to communicate and care. Ethel and Norman Thayer return to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. They are visited by their divorced, middle-aged daughter and her dentist fiancé, who then go to Europe, leaving his teenage son behind for the summer. This classic American comedy/drama is as touching, warm, and witty today as when it debuted on Broadway in 1979.

Learn about Asheville’s strange, sometimes sordid past from our ghoulish guides. You’ll laugh! You’ll scream! You’ll discover mysteries and chilling tales of scandal and murder on the blood-stained streets of this picturesque town!

Ghosted runs approximately 60 minutes. Beer and wine are welcome onboard, but no open containers, and absolutely no liquor, please! All beer and wine must be purchased from the LaZoom Room. (Passengers must be at least 21 years old to drink on the bus, and must have valid ID.)
