The Orchard Sessions with Kristin Kelly
Jul 22 all-day
The Farm at Old Edwards

The Orchard Sessions Live Concert series continues on Thursday, July 22 with country music singer-songwriter Kristen Kelly. Settle into a musical evening under heirloom apple trees at The Farm at Old Edwards. Growing up in small-town Lorena, Texas, Kristen studied the music of her late grandfather, a country music musician and learned about classic rock from her father. Along the way, she fell in love with the Blues. She learned to love poetry and listened to country giants; the Judds, George Strait, and Willie Nelson. She fell in love with the “simple” songwriting style of Merle Haggard, who embodied her belief that “country music is three chords and the truth.” Enjoy Kristen kelly’s heartfelt songs on Thursday, July 22 at The Farm at Old Edwards. The $25 ticket includes light bites, and a cash bar is available. The Orchard Sessions concert series brings a stellar lineup of well-known musicians to The Farm at Old Edwards – located at 336 Arnold Road in Highlands. Lawn Concert with Nu-Blu
Jul 22 @ 7:00 pm
Isis Music Hall

Hailing from Siler City, the textbook definition of a picturesque small southern town, Nu-Blu’s heart and soul is husband-and-wife duo Daniel and Carolyn Routh. Carolyn’s caramel-coated soprano is one of the band’s defining traits, at times a tender lullaby, at times a freight train headed straight for you, but always unwinding a surprising tale. Daniel is the group’s backbone, a multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist who also handles band management. Austin Hefflefinger on banjo, and Justin Harrison on mandolin round out the quartet’s warm, layered, Appalachian sound. Together they deliver upbeat, blazing-fingers pick work just as well as gentle, heartwarming ballads, and they do it all with a natural togetherness that can’t be faked, forged over hundreds of shows on the road.

Come enjoy an evening of live music, food and drinks on the Isis Music Hall Lawn. Reservations are highly recommended.

Thunder and Rain hit gold when they’re cover of Guns N Roses “Sweet Child o Mine” hit 6 million views on YouTube and gained fans from across the globe.

When the pandemic changed the outlook for all working musicians, Thunder and Rain decided to go on indefinite hiatus, and Erinn packed up and moved to Nashville TN.

In music city, she is working on cowriting a second solo EP produced by Nashville’s own Rachel Baiman, and is teaching music at the historic Music Heritage Center of Middle Tennessee.

Strung Like a Horse
Jul 23 @ 7:00 pm
Isis Music Hall

Strung Like a Horse is known for their signature brand of Americana, distilled from old-school storytelling, roots-rock and bluegrass instrumentations, and alt-rock edge. Mississippi-bred, Chattanooga-based frontman Clayton Maselle brings the influences of John Hartford, Split Lip Rayfield, Danny Barnes, the Band, Violent Femmes, and Old Crow Medicine Show to his singular songs. The band’s authenticity, unpredictability, boundless energy, and great fondness for a good time have made their live shows a cult favorite. This summer, the band recorded their first studio album, Whoa!, with multiple Grammy-winning producer/engineer Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, John Prine, Brandi Carlile, Calexico/Iron & Wine, Margo Price, Al Green, Josh Ritter), to be released on Transoceanic Records in early 2020.

Come enjoy an evening of live music, food and drinks at the Isis Music Hall. Advaned Reservations are highly recommended.
