Puptart is a tail wagging robot dog who sits and stays, pants when listening, and responds to someone talking to and petting it. It will not jump up or run away, plus it’s fur free, so no sneezes and runny noses coming your way! Elizabeth (Eliza) Burr launched and grew two successful businesses, Preferred Pet Partners LLC and The Pet Business Coach. She’s a veteran in the pet care business space and has extensive practical experience in the pet sitting and dog walking industry. With degrees in Zoology and Molecular Biology, she’s had a varied career with 30 years spent in global companies in a variety of roles including Operations, R&D, Quality, and Continuous Improvement. She’s led organizations of up to 2400 employees and operations across the US and Canada. She’s traveled extensively for her career living in 13 states and 4 countries. In 2017 she launched her first side hustle and in 2018 she jumped the corporate ship to pursue her passion for animals and small business and has never looked back!
Eric Kronberg is a zoning whisperer. He specializes in examining and demystifying zoning ordinances to find ways to make great projects possible and help others navigate through the zoning swamp. He uses his skills for the force of good as a principal at Kronberg Urbanists + Architects, leading the firm’s pre-development efforts by combining skills in planning, development, architecture and zoning. Eric leverages this potent cocktail to chart the course of best possibilities for each site’s redevelopment. His work with KUA, the Incremental Development Alliance, the Congress for the New Urbanism, the Georgia Conservancy, and the National Town Builders Association has solidified his stance as an advocate for walkable and bikeable communities.

In the summer of 1982, 31 teenagers attempted a daunting coast-to-coast 3,600 mile bicycle journey across the United States to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis. They experienced a coming of age summer filled with intense challenges, humor, mishaps, personal discovery and tragedy. This poignant and powerful story, encapsulates the era, the adventure and life itself.
The summer of 1982 was transformational for Director Paul Bonesteel. It inspired him toward a path of creating films where service and passion are central to the story.
Paul has directed more than a dozen documentary films including an award winning film for PBS’ American Masters on Carl Sandburg and the 2021 film Muni telling the story of Black golfers and desegregation on a public course. From Alaska to the Soviet Union to Africa and to the mountains of North Carolina where he grew up, Paul’s storytelling is both local and global, but always filled with the enthusiasm and commitment of 1982’s bicycling adventure.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Pisgah Area SORBA and The Bicycle Thrift Shop.
Pisgah Area SORBA – A local nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving mountain biking opportunities by maintaining and improving the trail systems in and around the Pisgah Ranger District. This mission is completed through education, advocacy, and environmental stewardship on behalf of the mountain biking community.”
The Bicycle Thrift Shop – Our Mission: We provide access to cycling for youth families and individuals who would not otherwise have that opportunity! We do this by refurbishing donated bikes, parts and gear and selling to the general public at costs lower than (almost) anywhere else.
Beginning Adult Jazz/Musical Theatre Dance meets on Wednesdays from June 14 to July 19. Tuition is $130. In this class, students will learn basic jazz techniques that are essential for any aspiring stage performer. The class will cover iconic steps that you’ve seen in classic musical theater productions, as well as help students fine-tune basic techniques to help them become better dancers. The class is perfect for anyone looking to take their dance skills to the next level, regardless of experience level. Whether students are dreaming of starring in the next Broadway hit or just want to improve their dance skills, the class is the perfect opportunity to learn, grow and have fun.

Elizabeth Creamer is a former professional dancer turned dance teacher. Creamer brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as the dance instructor at West Henderson High School. She pursued higher education opportunities in dance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she obtained her B.A. in Dance Studies. During her time at college, she studied various styles of dance, including contemporary, African, jazz, hip hop, ballroom dancing, belly dancing, ballet and many more. While at college, Creamer auditioned for and was selected as a dancer for The Lost Colony, a Tony Honors Award recipient show, for three summers. After completing her degree, Creamer returned to the area to teach classes at Asheville Ballroom and Dance Center, where she also competed with a Latin dance troupe called The Bluestar Dancers. Additionally, she assisted the former dance teacher at West Henderson High School with various musical productions before eventually taking over as the school’s dance teacher in 2017.
Creamer has used her expertise in dance and choreography to create dances for many shows including Grease, Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Madagascar Jr. and Frozen Jr. Her creativity and expertise in dance bring out the best in her students, inspiring them to reach their full potential.

Modelface Comedy presents Comedy at Catawba
Brian is an Emmy-winning late night comedy writer and stand-up comedian who has written for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. As a stand-up, he’s been selected for the New Faces showcase at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and performs regularly in New York City and on the road. His first album Last Wishes, which streams regularly on Sirius XM, debuted at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts.

A book club for home cooks, foodies, industry folks, and anyone in-between. We will be focusing on all sorts of food writing. Somethemes will be (but not limited to): food critics, chef memoirs, wine, food history, and food politics.

The traditional music of the mountains of North Carolina traces its roots back to the Celtic music of Ireland and Scotland. Traditional Celtic music is still played on the porches and in the pubs of the Celtic lands… and also throughout the southern Appalachian mountains.
In true pub fashion, White Horse Black Mountain hosts a traditional Irish style session twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays, starting at 7pm….
……..and there is NO COVER CHARGE.
Sessions are in many ways the heart and soul of Irish traditional music, a place for players to share tunes and socialize. It’s not a performance, but rather an informal situation in which listeners are welcome to participate, whether offering encouragement, singing along on a chorus, or asking questions about the music and instruments. White Horse sessions regularly draws players from as far away as Waynesville, Cullowhee, Rutherfordton and even Clayton, Georgia.
The sessions are hosted by Richard and Melinda Halford.

Last Wednesday of every month is the Queer Comedy Party at Different Wrld in West Asheville!!! Modelface Comedy brings you the best queer comedians from all over the South followed by one of the wildest drag shows in town!
Roman Fraden is a comedian and a regular performer at classic Hollywood venues including The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Hollywood Improv. He has trained with Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Theatre in Los Angeles and has performed in various ensemble casts in film and on stage. His one man show ‘Back In The Closet’ made it’s world premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018.
