We are excited to host a screening of No Man’s Land Film Festival again this year in partnership with MountainTrue as a fundraiser to support our programs protecting clean waters, resilient forests, and healthy communities across Western North Carolina. As an environmental advocacy nonprofit, MountainTrue believes that its mission is aligned with No Man’s Land as a film festival that exclusively features gender identified women athletes, outdoor recreationists, and environmental conservationists. We all hope that everyone who loves to play outside will take the extra step to advocate for the protection of our public lands and wild places. Thanks in advance for your support and enjoy the show! This event starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 11:00 p.m. EDT. This is a free online screening with a suggested donation. We hope to “see” you there!
Join Irene Wortham Center’s 20th annual golf tournament fundraiser! As a non-profit, this annual event helps us continue serving the Buncombe County community. For 57 years and counting, we have been helping children and adults with developmental and/or socioeconomic challenges live more independent, happy, healthy, and full lives. Funds raised at this event will kick-start the building project for a new Early Learning Center. The current center, which is one of two organizations in Buncombe County helping pre-K children with developmental disabilities, enrolls 100 children and has a wait list of more than 400! We need YOUR support to expand our program and offer services to more children and families in need.

The films will be presented on weekends at 9 PM on a big screen in the parking lot adjacent to BMC’s Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium (WPA) in Brevard. Volunteers from these participating non-profit organizations will be giving each car a free bag of popcorn and candy along with literature about their missions in the community. Brevard’s own Co-Ed Cinema is providing the popcorn, and Ingles Markets will provide free candy to patrons.

In accordance with phase one of the Governor’s reopening orders, Brevard Music Center (BMC) will begin presenting Drive-In Movies on its campus starting Saturday night, May 30, 2020. The eight-film series is made possible by BMC with lead sponsors, PLATT and the Transylvania County Library Foundation. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the first featured film in the series. The films will be presented on weekends at 9 PM on a big screen in the parking lot adjacent to BMC’s Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium (WPA) in Brevard. Ticket sales for this event will begin Tuesday, May 26 at 9 AM.
Future movie titles and and on-sale dates for the weekly film series will be announced soon.
BMC is also collaborating with the following community partners for the Drive-In Movies @ Brevard Music Center series: The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County, Rise and Shine Freedom School, SAFE, Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas, Sharing House, Meals on Wheels, and Bread of Life.
