Posed in life-like postures with accurate settings, the volume remains an inspiration for artists in a variety of media today. Join author and collector Bill Steiner for a look at Audubon, his contributions to art and science, and his later work The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America. Steiner is joined by Cindy Buckner, associate curator, for a preview of A Telling Instinct: Audubon and Contemporary Art, the Museum’s upcoming exhibition examining Audubon’s anthropomorphic and storytelling approach, and its resonance with contemporary artists.
