Chiesa (Italian for church) is a quaint Italian restaurant featuring generations of family recipes, house-made pasta, and local ingredients. Located in the historic Montford neighborhood, Chiesa (pronounced kee-ay-sa) is housed in a building that has been at the center of the community for over one hundred years, serving as the local grocery store, then as a church, and since 2014, the neighborhood Italian restaurant. Our friendly staff welcomes all guests as family, providing a warm and comfortable atmosphere for both inside and patio dining (when weather permits).

At the beginning of the winter season, most people are thinking about what deals they can score on gifts and gadgets before the climax of the holiday hits. But a group of farmers and artists in western North Carolina have a very different idea. “In a world of disposability, we are committed to giving people connections to how things are made,” says Greta Dietrich, a local artist and metalsmith who is co-organizing and teaching.

General admission to the Make It! Don’t Buy It! Holiday Skillshare is $10.00, and grants access to the raffle, pop-up vendor gallery, several live craft demos, family activities area, live music and refreshments. Tickets to participate in skill share workshops can be purchased in addition to General Admission, and grant access to an array of events in themed classrooms such as Apothecary Arts, Printmaking, Metalsmithing, Fiber Arts, or Kitchen Crafts, either in the morning from 10am-1pm, or in the afternoon from 2pm-5pm. Children ages 6-14 can be enrolled in the Roots & Wings Youth Program for additional fees. Lunch will be available onsite from local food trucks.

Avery’s Creek Elementary school will be hosting its third annual Merry Market in their newly renovated gym on Saturday, November 23rd from 10am-2pm. Meet Santa in his village for a free photo op and a treat bag! Delicious snacks from Popcorn Boss will be available as well as yummy baked goods from Pixie Treats and Olsen Bakes! These sessions provide an artist looking for individual coaching on a specific topic the opportunity to meet with a skilled professional willing to offer suggestions to help grow their business. The AAAC is interested in supporting artists who are serious about strengthening, developing and growing their businesses. We believe Asheville area businesses and artists can support each other through creative collaboration that will ultimately enhance our community.

This is our annual benefit dinner for the animal haven of Asheville! it is reservation only and will be a 3 course, prix-fixe dinner at $60 per person (beverages not included).  we look forward to an amazing evening!

Baby, it’s cold outside, and few things are better than enjoying a winter warmer this season. We’re releasing our 2019 Holiday Beer for you to enjoy with friends and family by the fire, whether that’s a campfire or a fireplace. To celebrate, come join us on Black Friday to get your photo with a very Asheville Santa Claus at our West Asheville taproom! We can promise, it’ll be way more fun than waiting in line at Best Buy. Santa will be set up from 3-6pm, but bottles go on sale starting at 12 when we open! This year’s Holiday Beer is a Belgian Quad aged on American Oak spirals to round out the flavor. Ringing in at 11.5%, this one will warm your cold, cold heart. Delicious beer, festive photos…this is the way to kick the holiday season off right.
