Clothing swaps are a great way to get rid of items that you no longer need, but that might be just what someone else is looking for. Events like this also help keep clothing out of landfills, and create community among attendees. We are committed to creating swaps that are size-inclusive.
At this event you can bring clothes you like and leave with clothes you love! Plus, it’s a fundraiser for reproductive justice in Asheville.
How it works:
Drop off clothes before March 25 at Hi-Wire RAD
Clothing should be in good, clean condition
Bring 1-20+ items, leave with 15+
Adult clothing and shoes only
No accessories or kids clothing
The Western North Carolina Historical Association invites you to an evening of fine dining, Thursday, March 30 at 5pm, with proceeds benefiting historic preservation.
Prepared by the nationally-recognized and award-winning culinary department at A-B Tech, the all-inclusive, five-course gourmet dinner has become an Asheville-area tradition. Dinner service will begin promptly at 5:00pm.
Culinary students will prepare one basic menu, but with their own choices of sides, garnishes, etc. Each table will have their own unique experience.
A glass of wine is included with dinner. Due to college protocols, no other alcohol is allowed. Also, because this is a pre-set menu and is student driven, we are unfortunately unable to make menu substitutions based on preference or dietary needs.

Come on out to Keesler St in Black Mountain on Saturday, April 1st and support Blue Ridge Roller Derby! Fine Fettle Organizing and Blue Ridge Roller Derby are co-hosting a yard sale at 2 E Keesler Street. Any finds purchased from Blue Ridge Roller Derby’s tables will go to the league to support the purchase of team jerseys and other essentials. Spring Yard Sales are the best, so come on out and snag some deals!
Join us for Asheville Music School’s Sound Education student band showcase, featuring 5 eclectic bands playing everything from rock, pop, reggae, to early 70s metal, 90s alternative, Steely Dan and even a Grateful Dead tune might pop in there. Plus, the AMS Fiddle Squad will be performing Appalachian and bluegrass favorites. Proceeds benefit Asheville Music School scholarships and outreach programs through the Paul Thorpe Music Education Fund.
This event is from 12PM-5PM and is a General Admission, all-ages show with FREE ON-SITE PARKING!
Come hungry because Root Down will be serving their delicious twist on Southern Soul food and we’ll have our full bar open for you to enjoy!

AMS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization
Shelter Dog Transport Alliance supports county shelter systems throughout our state that are experiencing an overwhelming number of homeless or unwanted animals. When shelters are at capacity, we safely transport shelter animals free of charge to our northern rescue partners to avoid euthanasia of adoptable companion animals. We have saved over 6,700 local shelter pets since 2020.
We are a 100% Volunteer organization, so all proceeds go directly to saving animals.

Three quarters of a century later, the Museum has evolved into the preeminent cultural and educational hub for WNC—welcoming tens of thousands of visitors annually, hosting several major exhibitions each year, holding scores of special programs, and housing its Collection of more than 7,500 works in its state-of-the-art Pack Square location. Once we reach 700 donors, our magic Give UNC Asheville golden ticket will become activated! The ticket is currently hidden somewhere on campus, and the student who finds it will decide which fund will receive an extra $1,000 gift, thanks to the generosity of Vice Chancellor of Advancement Kirk Swenson.

Join us for the 1st Annual Earth Day 5K hosted by the nonprofit Green Built Alliance to help reduce our community’s carbon footprint!

5K Race begins at 8:00 AM
1 Mile Fun Run begins at 8:05 AM
Register by April 1st to be guaranteed a FREE race t-shirt. After that date, t-shirts will only be available in limited sizes and quantities.
Early registration includes a t-shirt, goody bag, and bib with chip-timing services. The top 3 male, female, and overall 5K runners will receive prizes, including a medal and a local tree donated by Asheville Greenworks!
Children 2 and under can join you for free (without registering) for the 1 Mile Fun Run, but kids 3 and up must be registered.

All proceeds from event will go towards creating a clean energy future through Green Built Alliance’s carbon offset program, Appalachian Offsets. This is a local carbon offsetting opportunity that allows community members’ offsets to go toward renewable energy projects for Buncombe County schools or other nonprofit organizations. The next Appalachian Offsets project in the works is for the installation of a PV system on the downtown Asheville United Way building.

La Sylphide (translated to “The Sylph”) is a magical morality tale about the pitfalls of temptation. Set in Scotland, the ballet tells of James, his fiancé Effie, and a beautiful Sylph who first appears as a dream, ultimately luring James into the woods, abandoning friends and his bride. La Sylphide features exquisite classical technique, intriguing characters, and leaves questions for the audience to ponder about the choices we make. La Sylphide is one of the oldest full length classical ballets still in repertoires of major ballet companies across the globe.
International Ballet’s La Sylphide will feature Greenville Native Ekaterina Nechayeva as the Sylph.

! The Diamond Anniversary is a time to honor our rich heritage and—more importantly—envision our future as the premier visual arts organization in this vibrant, creative region.
Founded in 1948 by a group of local artists to showcase the scope and depth of creativity in Western North Carolina (WNC), the Museum brings art of international significance to the region and encourages lively, diverse dialogue.
The Museum’s original home was a modest, unheated, three-room building on Charlotte Street in the former sales office of Dr. E.W. Grove. The building was designed by Richard Sharp Smith and provided to the Museum by the City of Asheville. Exhibitions by local painters and sculptors could only be staged in warmer weather, and Sunday afternoon receptions gave the community an opportunity to view original art and to listen to artists talk about their work. By the 1950s, the Museum had become an invaluable part of Asheville’s cultural life. It also began acquiring artworks for its Collection.
Three quarters of a century later, the Museum has evolved into the preeminent cultural and educational hub for WNC—welcoming tens of thousands of visitors annually, hosting several major exhibitions each year, holding scores of special programs, and housing its Collection of more than 7,500 works in its state-of-the-art Pack Square location. Dining Out For Life® is an annual dining fundraising event raising money for community-based organizations serving people living with or impacted by HIV.
On Thursday, April 27th, the Western North Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP) will again host our annual Dining Out For Life event. Partnering with the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association (AIR), Dining Out For Life encourages residents of Asheville and Western North Carolina to eat out at the Participating Restaurants. This celebration both supports the local restaurants which host the events and raises money for WNCAP’s life-saving services.
When you dine out for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert this April 27th at any of the Participating Restaurants, let them know you’re Dining Out For Life! Patrons will be given the opportunity to support HIV prevention and care. You can donate online or simply scan a QR code on printed postcards at tables or in go bags.
Now in its 21st year, Dining Out for Life has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We are once again immensely grateful to our Presenting Sponsor—Prestige Subaru of Asheville.

Our beautiful greenhouses are over-flowing with spring vibes and are full of unique plants, live music, a mechanical bull, h-e-m-p goodies, and fantastic vendors, ready to launch us into the warm season.
Come experience one heck of a unique venue as we have bluegrass jams, a set with HUG – Hendersonville Ukulele Group, the Substandards, almost madi, and a SURPRISE band! We’ll also have all the Farm Fam favs like Lauren Daviss of @fiddyshadesofgreen, Amy and Jesse Ross, and MS. SUSIE (#protectmssusieatallcosts).
Almost Madi will be joining us to play gentle tunes as you peruse our wonderful line-up of craft vendors, which will include artisan food vendors like App Wyld, as well as beautiful jewelry, amazing art, glass blowers, ceramics, and of course a wide selection (and maybe even a few special drops) of green goodness from Appalachian Standard!
The Spring Fling is *FREE* to the public. Parking is available on site but can be limited so it is recommended that groups carpool. This is an outdoor event. The first 100 people to join us will receive a goodie bag!
