Solvivor
‘Based in Asheville, NC, with a Post Modern Blues Rock sound (Black Keys, The Record Company, Gary Clark Jr), Solvivor is a 3-piece original Rock band featuring Ian Harrod on vocals / bass, Dorsey Parker on guitars and Joel Clark on drum kit.  Constantly at work in the studio and on their live show, Solvivor boasts a large and growing catalog of originals, plus many current and ‘classic’ covers, all delivered with authenticity and ability, ranging from acoustic Country Blues stylings to Modern Rock sounds, depending on the set, party or venue.  Solvivor recently released their first two studio recordings ‘Carolina Country Blues’ / ‘Cold Feet’ and look forward to many ‘small batch’ releases of studio material as well as regional performances into the new year.’

From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out (GTLO) has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians who are intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live, like you’ve never heard before. Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, GTLO recreates songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album, GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO brings what the audience wants… a high energy Zeppelin concert with an honest, heart-thumping intensity.

Dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” Get The Led Out offers a strong focus on the early years. They also touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever heard in concert. GTLO also include a special “acoustic set” with Zep favorites such as “Tangerine” and “Hey Hey What Can I Do.”

GTLO has amassed a strong national touring history, having performed at major club and PAC venues across the country. GTLO’s approach to their performance of this hallowed catalog is not unlike a classical performance, and the concert mimics the “light and shade” that are the embodiment of “the Mighty Zep.”

It’s the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues-soaked, groove-driven rock anthems, and their attention to detail and nuance that makes a Get The Led Out performance a truly awe-inspiring event!

The Youth Orchestra will present two consecutive educational Young People’s Concerts, free for all Buncombe County’s 5th-graders, featuring Béla Fleck and members of the Asheville Symphony! They will perform a wide range of pieces from “Shenandoah” to “Sourwood Mountain,” Bizet to Sibelius

Featuring banjo superstar Béla Fleck as our Festival Headliner, Kishi Bashi as our Festival Opener, and 25+ partner organizations offering 40+ events throughout this extraordinary ten-day Festival, this is the most ambitious Amadeus in Asheville Symphony history!

Gov’t Mule will be performing LIVE on the Outdoor Stage at Salvage Station on Friday, May 19th with Neal Francis and Saturday, May 20th with Maggie Rose! Doors open at 5:30PM and the music starts at 6:30PM. This is a General Admission, 12+ show (no exceptions). This is a LARGE EVENT, so please read our FAQs to learn more about parking options and our shuttle service.

Root Down will be serving their delicious twist on Southern Soul food and we’ll have a few rotating food trucks on-site as well! There will also be MULTIPLE full bars open for you to enjoy!

Bluestreak is a 5 piece rock ensemble working through the classic rock songbook and adding their own jamming blues originals to the mix. Their song selections are sure to please your ears no matter what generation you’re from. Sampling Tom Petty, Eagles, ZZ Top, Grateful Dead, REO Speedwagon, and more, this quintet rocks the block with their amazing sound.

THE FOOZER EXPERIENCE
Performed by El Scorcho & February Stars, “The Foozer Experience” is a 2+ hour Weezer/Foo Fighters tribute show based off their 2005 co-headlining tour with the moniker “Foozer.” The songs of both Weezer and Foo Fighters are powerful and memorable rock anthems and sing-a-longs that have proven the test of time over their 20+ year careers. The Foozer Experience delivers anthem after anthem from these two giants of the Alternative Rock era.

The Foozer Experience is a 2-band tribute show, but both bands can deliver a single show as each individual tribute act. Together or separate, El Scorcho & February Stars will leave audiences with an experience only rivaled by Weezer and Foo FIghters.

El Scorcho formed in the summer of 2004 with the goal of creating the highest quality Weezer experience next to actually seeing Weezer live. El Scorcho performs the best of the “Blue” and “Pinkerton” albums as well as classic deeper cuts, rarities, and new songs that the ever prolific Weezer continues to produce. The “Quintessential Weezer Tribute Band” quickly grew into one into one of the highest in-demand tribute acts across the Southeast. After Karl Koch (Weezer’s “5th member” and website administrator) caught word of El Scorcho, he immediately started to post show dates and news clips about the tribute act on Weezer’s website, http://weezer.com. El Scorcho has even had the privilege of performing on-stage with Weezer during their 2008 tour of the “Red” Album. To this day, Karl continues to support the band by tweeting their show announcements.

February Stars deliver the best live Foo Fighters show with songs spanning their entire career. Foo Fighters are arguably keeping the rock n roll torch lit by delivering melodic and guitar riff-based songs that everyone knows. With a catalog of over 12 full-length studio, live, and EP recordings and a 20+ year career, there is no doubt they are one of the most recognized and influential rock bands of the modern era.

Born October 7, 1951 in Seymour, Indiana, John Mellencamp fell in love with music at an early age and was gigging in local bars and fronting a soul band by the time he was 14. His professional music career began in earnest in 1976 when MCA Records released his first album, The Chestnut Street Incident. After releasing a few albums, he broke out in 1979 with his first hit, “I Need A Lover.” In 1982, his fifth album American Fool was the year’s best-selling album on the strength of two huge hits, “Hurts So Good,” and the number 1 single “Jack & Diane.” The albums that followed in the 80’s, Uh-Huh, Scarecrow, Lonesome Jubilee, and Big Daddy included singles: “Crumblin Down,” “The Authority Song,” “Small Town,” “Rain On The Scarecrow,” “Lonely Ol Night,” “”R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A.,” “Paper In Fire,” “Check It Out,” “Cherry Bomb,” “Pop Singer,” and “Jackie Brown.”

Mellencamp took the music on the road with a band that many considered the best in the business, playing approximately 1,000 shows around the globe during the decade. He toured regularly until suffering a mild heart attack in 1994 that forced him to take a break from music, but returned strong in 1996. He continued to write and record frequently, releasing critically acclaimed albums that featured his band’s unique instrumentation and his poignant songs about everyday life in the American heartland.

Mellencamp was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 and is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He’s a Grammy-winner and the recipient of numerous awards including The Woody Guthrie and John Steinbeck Awards, ASCAP Foundation’s Champion Award and their highest honor the Founders Award, the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting and the Billboard Century Award, amongst a host of other honors.

Abby Posner is a queer, working musician in Los Angeles. Best known for her ability to play any instrument that she can find, twisting genres, and pushing the boundaries of folk, roots, and pop music making her “Genre Fluid.”  From banjo riff to looping pedal she does it all.

Killer garage punk bill with The Whiffs (KC) Rocky MTN Roller, Pleasure House (CLT) and Jonny Couch touring down from NYC!

Debunk some common misconceptions about native snakes you could meet at home or in the schoolyard. Meet one of our ambassador animals and explore outside, looking for evidence of snakes in the wild. Access to The North Carolina Arboretum is free for event participants and family members. Citron Gallery presents REFLECTIONS, a group exhibition featuring new works by a diverse range of national and international artists. Consisting of both literal and metaphorical meanings, reflections can appear in many different forms. The physical nature of light alters appearances and can reveal unexpected sensations. Reflections can also be internal; emotional, spiritual or cerebral, revealing distant memories. These artists have created works that aim to portray an inner dialogue for the viewer. Join us for an evening of art, music, light refreshments, and conversation.
