The Black Mountain Center for the Arts is proud to host the Asheville based improv comedy troupe, Reasonably Priced Babies. RPB is a formidable improv comedy group consisting of Tom Chalmers, Mondy Carter, Karen Stobbe, Kim Richardson and Josh Batenhorst.

This is how it works: RPBs will ask the audience for suggestions and then they make that come to technicolor life. Get ready to be a part of the experience because this show will push the envelope of ridiculous fun.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Masks are encouraged but not required.

More than ever — we’re allowed to laugh.”

If you love David Sedaris’s cheerfully misanthropic stories, you might think you know what you’re getting  into at his live readings. You’d be wrong. To see him read his own work on stage allows his  autobiographical narrative to reveal a uniquely personal narrative that will keep you laughing throughout  the evening. Don’t miss this event!

Enjoy a guided tour on our beautiful Community Farm and see all the terrific projects we have in the works. Participants will hike The Discovery Trail in a 2-mile loop, returning to our education and event center. The Royal Comedy tour, featuring Sommore, Bruce Bruce, Lavell Crawford and Henry Welch, is coming to Bon Secours Wellness Arena at 8 p.m. on Nov. 5. Showcasing a star-studded lineup of world-class comedians, the Royal Comedy 17-city tour officially kicks off in Los Angeles on Sept. 30 before making its way to Greenville.

Distance: 2 miles round trip; Accum Ascent: 300 ft
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
Difficulty: Moderate; W/ two (2) KNEE DEEP WET CREEK CROSSINGS (if water is up); PLUS a narrow slope-traversing trail. One short section of 6”wide rock traverse.
The number of participants will be limited by the number of drivers (4 bodies/car).

Trail Condition: Slope traverse; roots; some very short steep sections; One short section of 6”wide rock traverse with root handholds. 1 short section of boulder hopping; 2 Knee-Deep water Xings. (BRING WATER SHOES).
