Join us for singalongs, watermelon carrying, Lift Scenes, lots and lots of dancing, and much more on September 24-25, 2021. Proceeds benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and festival organizers, The Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge.

Enjoy one of the top 20 events in the Southeast with live entertainment, 130+ food and craft vendors, tons of family-friendly activities, interactive kids area, along with performances and demonstrations celebrating the Southern Appalachian mountain culture. Mountain Heritage Day is diligently working to create a safe environment for everyone, whereby booths and seating are spaced for physical distancing.

Flesh & Conflict is a modern dance portrayal of the scarring effects that societal norms can have on people facing different major adversities. From depression of body image and Sexual Orientation to domestic violence and suicide, Flesh & Conflict is created to initiate positive, productive, and constructive conversations to create a community of understanding and support! Please no alcohol, weapons, tobacco, or shaming!
Individuals, or pods of 2-10 people, will be asked to mark out their space with string, rope, blankets etc. Bring these items if you want !
Honor your needs and take care of yourself. Respect individual and energetic boundaries of whatever distance other folks need – check in and seek consent!
If you have symptoms in the 5 days before the event, please stay home and take care of yourself, and come to the next one! Let us know.

DJ Ephcto spins cultural bass music from 6:30pm-9pm and is a perfect time to come for some dinner prior to the start of Latin night.
“Move On Up” is a night of your favorite and forgotten Soul/RB cuts right after Comedy Night.
And a 5-6-7-8! Have you ever wanted to feel confident in a dance audition or learn awesome choreography to your favorite musical numbers? In this class students will learn basic dance styles used in musical theatre and how to act through their dancing. This course will help dancers prepare to ace an audition and pick up choreography quickly and efficiently.

Hominy Rising – Arts & Awareness on the Greenway: The Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a reflection on the history, ecology and beauty of our Greenway. As part of this celebration we are hosting an art exhibition which will consist of temporary, outdoor art installations and an opening event with live performances including music and dance!
Join us in our new monthly social swing event on the 1st Saturdays of every month! The music,
open vintage space and wood floors and is guaranteed to have you dancing East Coast and/or
Lindy all night long! A free lesson is offered to kick things off and will include a different
combination of moves each time. No partner or rhythm needed and dress is casual!
7:00-7:30 Beginner Swing Lesson by Ian Fleming and Tola Sun
7:30-9:30 Live Swing Band (new ones every month)
9:30-11:00 DJ (mixture of vintage and modern music)

Pilobolus Intermediate & Pre-professional Masterclass
The core values of Pilobolus workshops are the three Cs of creativity, collaboration and communication. Our workshop created for movers and dancers uses Pilobolus signature techniques of improvisation and movement creation to elevate training to the next level and reinvigorate creative impulses. The class, taught by current company members, is designed to stretch the limits of movers and performers ages 16 and up. The class will include partnering, collaborative choreography and peer to peer feedback. The class will end with a showing of work created in class.

Pilobolus is back with an all-new 50th anniversary adventure, combining visually striking shadow theatre with choreography and multimedia for an evening of wild and fascinating storytelling. Your students will be among the first to see this world premiere performance, which includes both reimagined classics and brand-new works.

Pilobolus: Open Workshop
The core values of Pilobolus are creativity, collaboration and communication. This workshop welcomes all to experience Pilobolus’s creative process and our signature partnering techniques. Current company members will guide participants to discover their own unique artistic voice and learn how to work with others to create original material collaboratively. This class is playful, group-driven, physically challenging and fun. Pilobolus fans and curious minds from all walks of life will learn to access untapped areas of creativity and improve effectiveness in a group. Each class concludes with a choreographic project and performance for their peers. Workshops are perfect for participants of all experience and skill levels.
