Black Is Beautiful is a collaborative effort in partnership with our friends at @weatheredsoulsbrewing whose shared mission is to bring awareness to the injustices that many People of Color face daily. Additional proceeds from select retailers will be donated to the Know Your Rights Campaign.
Award-winning fiddler, singer and songwriter Carley Arrowood has quickly become a recognized name among young bluegrass artists. With the release of her very first singles with Mountain Home Music Company, Carley has begun to make her mark as a musician. Her cutting-edge fiddling and vocals are forceful and bright, rooted in the traditions of the Western North Carolina mountains, while creating a twist of refreshing contemporary bluegrass, country and gospel sounds. Carley has teamed up with some of her closest friends (and family) to create such a performance that will leave listeners amply exhilarated and encouraged.
Come enjoy an evening of live music, food and drinks at the Isis Music Hall. Reservations are highly recommended.

The purpose of Coffee and Conversation is to have productive talk and dialogue that build communities, foster ideas of growth, solidarity and networking. In essence, no matter what we do in our daily living, our mission with “Enjoy Your Life”, is to promote others through positive action and empowerment. Remember, the temperature is changing and nights are getting colder. If you have any old coats please bring them to this Saturday’s meeting. We would like to discuss a time, place and date where some members may want to volunteer and hand out coats or any articles of clothing to homeless people downtown.

Join us for three hours “off the eaten path” as we find and gather over a dozen wild edibles. We’ll whip up a little tasting right on the trail. Take home the rest of your finds and/or get ready for some find dining when one of our award-winning restaurant partners prepares your “catch of the day,” with lunch, brunch or dinner, for free. Wild mushroom pizza, daylily tamales, sassafras root beer, wisteria ice cream… it all depends on what we find!

The Page Brothers Quartet return to the Isis Music Hall stage for an evening of straight-ahead swinging jazz! While past performances have featured “theme concerts” of Blue Note classics and the music of historical jazz figures, this show presents something new. Expect fresh material composed by the band members, re-arrangements of standard tunes and unique interpretations of songs outside of the jazz idiom. The Pages are joined by pianist Taylor Pierson and drummer Gary Claude-don’t miss it!

Hello and Welcome! I am new to town and would really like to get other women in the area together to enjoy Hendersonville with! I want to build a group of women looking to make new friends and try new experiences together.
I hope to bring the Women of Hendersonville together to have coffee, brunch, dinners, wine nights, and book clubs. We can attend breweries, the movies or the theater, go on hikes, do yoga, and anything else you can think of!

It’s time for kids to vote for their favorite books!
Throughout the month of March, kids can vote for the NC Children’s Book Award by visiting any Buncombe County Public Library location. The North Carolina Children’s Book Award is a children’s choice program sponsored by school and public librarians in North Carolina. The awards are designed to introduce kids to books and to instill a lifelong love of reading.
The Library has partnered with the Board of Elections to provide official voting booths for kids to vote.
Kids can vote in person at any of these libraries between March 2 and March 31:
- Enka-Candler
- Fairview
- North Asheville
- Pack Memorial
- South Buncombe
- Swannanoa
- Weaverville
- West Asheville
Kids can also vote “absentee” by asking for a ballot at any library, or they can drop their completed ballot in our book drop before the end of March to “mail in” their vote.
You are eligible to vote if 1) You’re a kid and 2) You’ve read or listened to at least 5 of the picture book nominees and/or 3) You’ve read or listened to at least 3 of the junior book nominees. Kids may vote for each category if they have read or listened to the required number of titles.

Come join us for a rich, topical discussion on the first Tuesday of the month. We come together to share perspectives and insights on subjects of interest in a welcoming and civil forum. We usually feature a TED Talk or YOUtube video for 15 minutes or so, followed by some questions for everyone to discuss. Topics are chosen by members and have ranged from mindfulness to addiction and everything in between. Feel free to eat your dinner or slurp your drink during the meeting–we’ll remind you to mute. For now, while we are taking COVID-19 precautions, our meetings will be online via ZOOM. Free to the public.

Think & Drink…Enjoy tea, coffee, libations and snacks with other people interested in exploring and discussing the challenges, opportunities, and issues of the 21st century on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm. It’s for anyone who is curious or just trying to maneuver life positively, holistically, and constructively. Our open meetings will be fun and include social time for conversation followed by relevant topics and respectful discussions. Topics may be presented by members via TED talks, You Tubes, films or other media, and be facilitated and open for discussion afterwards. We are open to all genders, races, interests, and ages. Bring your well-behaved kids . Bring ideas and open minds to engage, and intersect with others. The group members will determine topics and style as Think & Drink evolves.
