In conjunction with Sunday Sessions Live (and virtual) music: Food Truck Sundays will bring a new or rotating “staff favorite” cuisine each week to the Beechams Curve offerings.
Gan Shan West, our main culinary provider 6 days a week, is closed on Sundays. Enjoy the convenience, delicious variety and the music – all in one Sunday Funday stop!

In this workshop we will talk about why humans ferment food (hint: flavor, preservation, & health), we will discuss some of the history and culture of different fermentations, we will make a small batch of sauerkraut (you can follow along from home if you have a head of cabbage, salt, knife & cutting board, and a quart sized glass jar!) and we will have a Q&A for troubleshooting home ferments. An instructional PDF will be provided to attendees.

Hailing from the mountain towns of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Maryland, The Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers draw freely from Old-Time, Bluegrass, Rockabilly, and Swing music to create their own brand of high energy, Appalachian Bluegrass. Gary Antol (guitar/vocals) and Libby Eddy (fiddle/vocals) founded the band in 2014 with a very simple goal: write good songs, honor the music, and take it to the road. In the time since, Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers has performed in clubs across the country and appeared at festivals including Delfest, Grey Fox, Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival, and many more.
Come enjoy an evening of live music, food and drinks at the Isis Music Hall. Reservations are highly recommended.
Led by songwriters Isaac Horn (guitar) and Lincoln Mick (mandolin), and with the support of other gifted musicians, The Arcadian Wild confidently inhabits and explores an intersection of genre, blending the traditional with the contemporary in order to create a unique acoustic sound that is simultaneously unified and diverse. With one foot planted firmly in choral and formal vocal music, and the other in progressive folk and bluegrass, the band offers up songs of invitation: calls to come and see, to find refuge and rest, or to journey and wonder. In May 2019, The Arcadian Wild released their sophomore record, “Finch in the Pantry” (May 2019), which debuted at #9 on the Billboard bluegrass charts.

Henderson County Education Foundation’s 6th Annual Food for Thought Event Gives Back to Area Restaurants
The Henderson County Education Foundation will host its sixth-annual Food for Thought event January 18 through January 24. The community is invited to dine-in or take-out at local, participating establishments that have participated in the annual event over the past six years or are newcomers to the Hendersonville food scene.This year, Food for Thought: Covid Edition, is shifting the focus. Historically, restaurant partners have donated a portion of sales back to HCEF, but because the pandemic has greatly affected the restaurant industry, HCEF is not asking for donations from the restaurants.“We wanted to encourage our community to patronize the restaurants that have faithfully supported us in the past,” says Summer Stipe, Executive Director of HCEF. “We know the industry is hurting, and we wanted to help them while also giving folks the ability to donate and support local public education. When customers dine-in or take-out at the participating restaurants, they can also give to HCEF by either putting donations in the designated donation jar, texting FOOD4THOUGHT to 44321, or making a donation on our website, www.hcefnc.org/food.”The week will benefit both businesses and the Foundation with a large selection of participating restaurants; many taking part in the event for the sixth year in a row. A TURKEY IS NOT A ROOSTER: is a one-act play inspired by the Chinese zodiac & a parodic response to anti-Avian sentiment.
Jinna Kim was born in Masan, South Korea and immigrated to the United States as a toddler. Currently she is an award winning interdisciplinary artist who also became a filmmaker during quarantine. She was listed as Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2019. Originally trained in classical music, Jinna began her professional career in arts administration, having graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Illinois. Jinna then moved to New York City to work at the Public Theater, also known for Shakespeare in Central Park and Joe’s Pub, then at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). While in NYC, Jinna received fellowships from Korea Society and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement. After completing her MBA at the University of Virginia, Jinna moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to work at a major bank. Still based in Charlotte, Jinna continues to act, write and produce films and interdisciplinary art projects.

Juliana Heng is the founder of I Laugh KL Comedy Show, one of the founding members of Parti Komedi Rakyat (PKR) – a comedy troupe, and has been doing stand-up comedy since September 2017. They strive to be a comedian who gets real, talking about issues considered taboo in the Asian society. Juliana has performed in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok) & England (London, Nottingham & Manchester). Recently, they emerged as the Finalist of Bangkok International Comedy Competition 2019, KING GONG at The Comedy Store – London (December 2019) & BEAT THE FROG at The Frog & Bucket Comedy Club, Manchester (January 2020).

Since starting out in Chicago in 1976 at the age of twenty, Emo has had award-winning comedy albums, several cable specials (including an hour-long one on HBO), and many appearances on network television, both in America and in the UK. He has appeared in films (most notably, as the table-saw demonstrator in UHF) and has lent his distinctive voice to animated TV shows (such as Slacker Cats, Doctor Katz, Adventure Time, and Home Movies), but his first love, stand-up, remains his true one.
