Experience the transformative power of breathwork in this two-hour workshop designed to help you clear out old energy and embrace the new. As we transition into the vibrancy of spring and the expansiveness of summer, you’ll be supported to release what no longer serves you, renew your energy, and create space for new growth
The heart of the experience will be a conscious connected breathwork journey, where you will be gently guided to clear away emotional blockages, release limiting beliefs, and create space for personal rejuvenation.
This workshop is ideal for anyone looking to shed the old and step into a fresh season or chapter. You’ll leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and open to the possibilities ahead.
All levels are welcome. No prior breathwork experience needed. Must be 18+ and in good health to participate. If you are pregnant or think you may be, or have a serious, severe, or uncontrolled physical or mental health condition, this practice is strongly not recommended. A participation waiver is required. Returning to Concerts in the Park is “Mission Accomplished,” an Asheville, NC based classic rock cover band made up entirely of Mission Health colleagues. Who knew that three surgeons, a nurse, a pharmacist and a data scientist could have so much fun rocking out together? Playing classic rock and blues tunes from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, Mission Accomplished delivers on the expectation that the audience “may not know what they like – but they like what they know!”
One of the most popular artists in modern country music, Vince Gill is famous for his top-notch songwriting, world-class guitar playing and warm, soaring tenor, all wrapped up in a quick and easy wit. Gill achieved his big breakthrough in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name,” which won both the Country Music Association’s (CMA) Single and Song of the Year awards as well as a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male. In total, Gill has won 18 CMA Awards, 22 Grammy Awards, and 8 Academy of Country Music Awards. In 1991, Gill was invited to become a member of The Grand Ole Opry, and in 2007 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

With a blend of dreamy acoustic duets, foot-stomping folk and bluesy murder ballads, New Zealand-formed and Nashville-based South for Winter’s sound is as eclectic as their origins. The band is composed of New Zealander Nick Stone, Coloradan Dani Cichon, and Michigander Alex Stradal, and together the three multi-instrumentalists and songwriters combine elements such as classically-trained cello, percussive guitar, mandolin, suitcase stomp, poetic lyricism, and haunting melodies into a genre-bending sound described by American Songwriter as “impeccable”.

The Rhythm & Brews Concert Series unfolds as a casual and welcoming event, occurring on the third Thursday of each month from June to October. South Main Street in Hendersonville transforms into a hub of local entertainment, where community members gather to enjoy live music, craft beverages, and family-friendly activities. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., initiating the evening with an opening act at 5:30 p.m., followed by the headlining performance from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Beer & Wine Garden, a focal point for adults, features offerings from local establishments such as Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Bold Rock Hard Cider, Guidon Brewing Co., Oklawaha Brewing Co., Dry Falls Brewery, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, and Flat Rock Cider Company. Notably, all net proceeds from adult beverage sales contribute to the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting the Downtown Program.
For families, the Hendersonville Honeycrisps & the Hendersonville Toy Company Kid Zone provide a range of kid-friendly activities, including hula-hooping and interactive exhibits.
Attendees are encouraged to bring camp chairs and picnic blankets to create a relaxed atmosphere. However, coolers and pets are best left at home to ensure the comfort and safety of all participants. Join us for a laid-back summer evening, filled with music, local brews, and community connections in the heart of Hendersonville.

Mark your calendars! Haywood County will host the 1st Annual Smoky Mountain Yoga & Wellness Festival on June 21st right here on the Folkmoot Friendship Center campus. This is an all-embracing celebration honoring International Day of Yoga, Summer Solstice and whole-body wellness. Beginning with an Opening Ceremony at 10 am, the festival will offer yoga, qigong, tai chi, somatics and sound healing sessions, Wisdom & Wellness talks and workshops, Vendor Village with dozens of artists, artisans, outdoor activity gear and wellness related products, Food Truck Park, an herbal mocktail bar, children’s adventure center with free activities throughout the day, live entertainment, hula hooping, belly dancing and a drum circle, all culminating with a dynamic Closing Ceremony at 8 pm. As a certified yoga teacher, Camilla sees movement as one of life’s greatest gifts. Every stretch and twist is an invitation to connect more deeply with the body you’ve been given – a chance to feel, to honor, and to be present. In this special hour-long solstice practice, Camilla will guide you through grounding movement designed to cultivate presence, awe, and embodiment as we transition with the shift of the season.
Each year, MountainTrue hosts a BioBlitz to record all the species we can find in a given area. We identify and catalog organisms using the online app iNaturalist. The BioBiltz this year will be on June 21st at Hickory Nut Gap Farm near Asheville, NC. Volunteers will hike with experts in reptiles/amphibians, mammals, birds, plants, and mushrooms. *Group sign-ups are taken at the event and are first come, first serve. Group availability is subject to change.
We will meet at 12:30 pm to complete waivers and sign-up for groups. The BioBlitz will kick off at 1 pm and end at 5 pm. But the fun doesn’t stop there. We hope our volunteers will stick around for the barn dance at Hickory Nut Gap from 6 to 9 pm. All BioBlitz volunteers will receive free admission to the barn dance.
There will be a food truck on site where you can purchase dinner. MountainTrue will provide snacks.
Please bring: water, sunscreen, bug spray, notebook (if desired), sturdy close-toed shoes and any snacks, etc. that you may need.
**Kids aged 6 and up are welcome to join if they are accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the trip.
