A Summer Solstice Special Event!
2 nights only! Don your fairy finery, and come belly laugh, sing along, and feel the magic of Midsummer at this concert reading (and singing) of a NEW, ORIGINAL MUSICAL COMEDY by local theatre artists, Laura Depta Peal and Stan Peal.
It is Midsummer night in the magical court of Titania, Queen of the Fairies, and her motley bunch of forest fey are busy preparing for the night’s festivities. Oberon, her wayward consort, is late again, but when he arrives this time he’s not alone! A young human woman has followed him into the fairy realm, and now she can’t get home. Led by the mischievous Puck and a very dusty ghost of Shakespeare, the goofy forest denizens hilariously hatch a plan to get the lost girl back where she belongs. Mixed up Shakespearean shenanigans and Midsummer magic collide in this delightful musical celebration of summer!

Note: A concert reading is different from a full production of a play. At a reading such as this, the actors will be standing on stage or seated in chairs and will have their scripts in front of them on music stands. There will be minimal set, blocking, props, and costumes. Scene descriptions and stage directions will be read aloud to set the stage for the audience. Even with such a pared down production, you will be amazed at how much the story, the characters, the music, and the comedy will come alive for you!
Near the summer solstice each year, over 1,000 people convene from around the world for The Firefly Gathering. Here, folks come together to connect and share skills with the common goal of expanding our capacity to live well with one another and our beloved Earth.
Days are filled with a wide variety of classes focused on deepening our relationship with the wisdom and rhythms of nature, dipping into the deep wells of ancestral knowledge, and integrating these skills into our daily lives and communities.
Evenings are filled with live music, dancing under the moon and stars, opportunities to connect with each other, and of course–the fireflies–who dazzle us with their beautiful display of light as they communicate in the darkness! A variety of nature connection programs guide children and teens to engage through learning and play.
For many, coming to The Firefly Gathering is a life-changing experience that they return to year after year.
Barn Yoga with Breeze!
Back by popular demand, it’s BARN YOGA! We’re hosting the yogis of Breeze Yoga Space every last Sunday of the month, June through October, letting out just in time to enjoy our new Big Barn Market full of local farmers, food makers, crafters and artists…
Embraced by the mountains, the breeze through the trees, the rooted sensation that our farm’s land brings at every visit. Barn Yoga is just a special experience, and we’re so glad to have it back. You may be joined by one of our Farm Interns, a Butcher or Store Staff, so keep an eye out for familiar faces!
Take time away in nature to breathe deep, relax, and immerse yourself in the beauty of our lovely Blue Ridge Mountains!
Enjoy a 2-mile round trip hike along an easy/moderate trail to a mountaintop with stunning views. Once there, we’ll share an hour of yoga for all levels at the summit as we take in the unbeatable, panoramic views and soak up the wide open space.

Every Sunday evening Modelface Comedy brings you the best comedians from all over the country
Cortney Warner was born in Seoul, South Korea; raised in Mantua, Ohio; and now calls Nashville, Tennessee her home. Cortney performs stand up around the country and is known for her honest, diuretic material combined with unique observations about the world and society. Cortney recently released her first comedy special, Pointy Boys, on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music under Bedfire Label.
Cortney runs a weekly showcase and mic at The Bowery Vault, and has shows at Third Man Records and The 5 Spot. Cortney has satire published on Points In Case, Flexx Mag, Hey! Young Writer, and Humor Darling. She is also a founding member of the improvised true crime podcast, Murder She Joked, available on Project-Nerd.

Hosted by Morgan Bost. Morgan is an Asheville based comic capturing the playful and often painful parallels between adolescence and “almost-adulthood.” Vibrant yet vulnerable; her high-energy storytelling is influenced by her background as an improviser. She co-hosts a weekly comedy open mic called “The Hot Seat,” and writes a monthly humor column, “Best Medicine with Morgan Bost,” for the Mountain Xpress. She’s opened for Rob Delaney, Beth Stelling, and has appeared in several breweries and discount grocery stores across Western North Carolina.

Leaving Dublin, Ireland where he was born and raised until the age of 22, David got drunk on travel and never quite hit sobriety of it. He has lived and worked in twelve countries and visited over seventy. His shows draw on his wide travels, cultural observations, attempts at language study, (occasional)international drinking session(s) and being a mildly confused immigrant. David is the winner of the prestigious annual San Francisco Comedy Competition, (previous finalists include Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres and Dana Carvey) and runner up in the Moth’s largest US Grandslam storytelling competition. Modelface Comedy presents Comedy at Catawba
Brian is an Emmy-winning late night comedy writer and stand-up comedian who has written for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. As a stand-up, he’s been selected for the New Faces showcase at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and performs regularly in New York City and on the road. Roman Fraden is a comedian and a regular performer at classic Hollywood venues including The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Hollywood Improv. He has trained with Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Theatre in Los Angeles and has performed in various ensemble casts in film and on stage. His one man show ‘Back In The Closet’ made it’s world premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018.

Every Friday Modelface Comedy brings you the best comedians from all over the country. This week we have Sam Evans from NYC!
Sam Evans is a comic originally from Cincinnati, OH. After winning the 2012 Funniest Person in Cincinnati competition, Sam relocated to New York City in order to pursue comedy further, and was rewarded in 2014, when he was selected as one of the New Faces of the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in 2014. He has been featured on the Audible comedy podcast “Sounds Like America”. In 2020, he released his debut standup album “Sweet Baby Boy” with Blonde Medicine records, which debuted at #1 on iTunes.

Shaunak Godkhindi is an Atlanta comedian who performs all around the country at clubs and indie venues. He has also been a performer at SXSW, Laughing Skull Fest, Red Clay Comedy Festival, and New South Comedy Fest. Shaunak has opened up for Kyle Kinane, Rory Scovel, Joe Zimmerman, Nore Davis, Sean Patton, Aakash Singh, and many more. His comedy style is energetic, optimistic, and fun. He once made a lady laugh so hard she peed a little and she emailed him after the show saying that her night was ruined.

In collaboration with West Asheville Yoga join us at the Museum’s rooftop terrace for a unique Creative Flow experience that combines the beauty of art with the power of mindful movement.

Krista Hagman (she/her) has been dedicated to the yoga practice for over 15 years. She has assisted multiple teacher training programs and continues her study of the body through complementary modalities such as Thai Massage, Body-Mind-Centering, Continuum, Contact Improv, Sound Healing, and Plant Medicine. Over the years, Krista has taught yoga in a variety of settings—from studios and assisted living centers to festivals, addiction recovery centers, youth camps, and at-home online. Kim Drye (she/her) is a highly experienced and skilled yoga instructor with a passion for promoting alignment, therapeutic healing, and restorative practices.
