Joe Zimmerman grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, and started his comedy career in North Carolina. While living in the South, his stand-up group the Beards of Comedy landed a record deal with Comedy Central Records. He moved to New York City in 2012, quickly appearing on The Late Late Show and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, as well as performing at Montreal’s prestigious Just for Laughs festival. His resume has since grown to include The Tonight Show, Conan, Nickelodeon, Last Comic Standing, and his own Comedy Central Half Hour. Joe’s solo album Smiling at Wolves reached number two on the iTunes comedy charts and is played regularly on SiriusXM. (His second, Innocence, is due this summer on Comedy Central Records.) He has also contributed humor pieces to The New York Times.

Joe’s new podcast, “A Great Listening Experience” details his questionable attempts to attain infinite knowledge and power. Among his many podcast & radio appearances, he has recently appeared on 2 Dope Queens, The Dork Forest, Bob & Tom, The Todd Barry Podcast, and The Artie Lange Show. This month’s Queer Comedy Party stars Kendall Farrell!

Kendall Farrell is a New York City based standup comedian from Vermont. He was named a ‘Comic To Watch’ at the 2019 New York Comedy Festival and will headline Caroline’s as part of their Breakout Artist series in 2020. The February Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force meeting that was snowed out last week will not be rescheduled. Please plan to attend the next meeting on March 19.

Instead, I am inviting you to review two city sidewalk project plans this Friday, February 28th, between 11am and 1pm on the mezzanine of Asheville’s City Hall, 70 Court Plaza.

We have 60% plans, so plans that are on their way but not yet fully firmed up, for sidewalk on New Haw Creek Rd and on New Leicester Hwy.  The individual project managers will be there to take your comments and answer your questions.  We will be in the Water Admin conference room on the north side of the building, one floor up from the main entrance.

I often bring plans to the meeting, but there is never enough time to take a good look, so I’m trying this.  Feedback on usefulness, as well as the time, day, location, and such is welcome.  If you can’t be there at this time but still want to take a look, contact me and we can work something out.

You enter City Hall through a security entrance, so I suggest only carrying what you need to have with you that day.

Make your leap day 2020 memorable by signing up for the 8th annual Chilly Challenge 8K Race & 1-Mile Chili Chase Fun Run and Chili Cook-off in Weaverville, NC! Runners will enjoy a brisk scenic run and post-race celebration that includes a tasty chili lunch, live music and fantastic prizes. For runners and walkers of all ages, this event is hosted by the North Buncombe Middle School PTO and presented by TS Orthodontics to raise funding for the school.

The chip timed 8K race takes place on a rolling hills course with start and finish on the school campus. Sign up by February 15th and save! The 8K entry fees are $35 for adults and $20 for students. The 8K fees increase $5 on February 16th. The 1-Mile Chili Chase entry fee is $15. Runners will warm up after the race with a chili lunch including cornbread and fixings.
