Described as “the closest to ABBA you’ll ever get,” Abba The Concert brings one of the 20th century’s greatest pop groups back to life with their dazzling performances of all the groundbreaking Swedish act’s greatest hits, including “Mamma Mia,” “S.O.S,” “Waterloo,” “Dancing Queen,” and many more. They’ve sold out venues throughout the U.S. and achieved critical and popular acclaim for their energetic performances.
ABBA The Concert visits Brevard as part of its popular BMC Presents series, which brings a diverse range of non-classical artists to the festival stage. In 2020, the series will also host guitarist Bryan Sutton, folk legend Judy Collins, the bluegrass-inspired sounds of Woody Platt and Shannon Whitworth, and the return of award-winning banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck.

As one of the most sought-after bands on the Jam/roots circuit in the early 2000’s, Perpetual Groove reached 800+ in hard ticket sales in markets as diverse as San Francisco, New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, Ft. Lauderdale, Washington, D.C. Tampa, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Austin, TX Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, Athens, GA, Richmond, VA, Norfolk, VA and New Orleans; headlining festivals such as Bonnaroo, 10,000 Lakes, High Sierra, Wakarusa, Langerado, Jamcruise and Jam in the Dam. Perpetual Groove, after a rejuvenating hiatus, has returned, much to the delight of their still-supportive and loyal fans. As their fans have matured, the band’s sound has also grown, with the band’s songwriters incorporating elements of pop and even EDM into the traditional P. Groove sound. Perpetual Groove is once more a full-time, national touring act, with a new album, their seventh studio album, entitled simply, Perpetual Groove. The band just brought in a new management team (Barney Kilpatrick and Neal Spielberg of Rockit Artist Management) and agent (Mark Lourie of Skyline Music) as a measure of their determination to develop a wider audience. Unusually committed to tour marketing, this team is available to assist promoters and venues of all kinds in obtaining fantastic sales and gross results and has access to electronic media most promoters cannot obtain.
Each spring, hundreds of locals 50+ years-old enjoy participating in the Asheville-Buncombe Senior Games and Silver Arts. This year’s program will be held at locations throughout Buncombe County from Tuesday, April 14-Friday, May 15. Registration is $5 before March 9 or $10 after that date. Military veterans may register for free.

Sports include basketball, bocce, croquet, football throw, softball throw, golf, cycling, track and field, archery, cheerleading, bowling, swimming, billiards, badminton, cornhole, horseshoes, pickleball, racquetball, shuffleboard, tennis, and table tennis. Miniature golf, rowing, and team softball and basketball are new this year. Age categories start at 50 and increase at five year intervals.
Silver Arts categories are classified as Heritage (quilting, woodwork, crochet, basket weaving, jewelry, needlework, tole painting, weaving, knitting, pottery, stained glass, woodcarving, and woodturning), Visual (solo, small group, and large group), Performing, Literary (poem, short story, essay, and life experience), and Contemporary. Art pieces will be displayed at Buncombe County Libraries in April and May.

To make the transition from this year to the 2021 event as seamless and exciting as possible, we have already worked with our artists, our brewers, and our vendors to make sure that we are able to carry over this year’s lineup and infrastructure to next year’s festival date. In addition, we are also in conversation with Eventbrite regarding the best options we can offer you when it comes to making a choice about how your ticket investment plays out.
Because this decision affects you as much as it does us, we will offer full refunds of all ticket purchases to any of you who would prefer that option. We understand the inconvenience that this change might cause you, and we ask that you offer us your patience while we organize that process. As another option, we would also like to offer you the opportunity to retain your ticket purchase and to roll it over into next year’s attendance. Any ticket that has already been purchased for 2020 will be honored at our 2021 festival in lieu of a refund. That is a choice we are allowing you to make, and we will be delighted to have you back as our guests then!

Along with a rich Americana lineup, North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival also shines a spotlight on local brewers and their contribution to North Carolina’s vibrant culinary scene. Over 50 breweries offering a selection of craft beers will be featured on-site throughout the weekend. Tasting tickets, which include access to beer samples plus a commemorative sampling glass, are available for purchase for $50 ($39 for early birds).
North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival began as a fundraising effort to preserve the historic site of Rural Hill. The site, which boasts extensive hiking trails, is a beloved landmark in the Central NC region and is home to many educational field trips and events. Since its inception, the North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival has continued to support the awareness of Rural Hill and attract diverse crowds from all over the country.
Friday music-only passes with sets from Acoustic Syndicate and Fireside Collective are $15. Saturday music-only passes with sets from the Steep Canyon Rangers and Hayes Carll are $22 for early birds. For attendees who would like to sample an unlimited assortment of celebrated North Carolina brews on Saturday, Tasting Tickets (which include daily entrance to the festival for music happenings) are available at the Early Bird price of $39. Camping options are available for attendees who would like to make the most of their weekend. Two-Day weekend tent camping, premium tent camping, and RV/Camper camping with hook-ups are available for $45, $65, and $85 respectively. North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival is a family-friendly event. Children 4 and under are free. A Children’s Ticket is available for kids 5 – 15 for $8.

Davy is a 3-time top 5 Billboard Blues charting and International touring artist, originally from the Isle Of Man in the British Isles, but now based out of Chicago IL. Third Coast Percussion is a Grammy®-winning quartet of classically-trained percussionists hailing from the great city of Chicago. For over 10 years, the ensemble has forged a unique path with energetic performances that celebrate the extraordinary depth and breadth of musical possibilities in the world of percussion.
The ensemble has been praised for “commandingly elegant” (The New York Times) performances, the “rare power” (The Washington Post) of their recordings, and “an inspirational sense of fun and curiosity” (Minnesota Star-Tribune). The four members of Third Coast are also accomplished teachers, and since 2013, have served as ensemble-in-residence at the University of Notre Dame’s DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.
Third Coast Percussion has commissioned and premiered new works from Philip Glass, Devonté Hynes, Donnacha Dennehy, Glenn Kotche, Lei Liang, Gavin Bryars, Christopher Cerrone, Marcos Balter, and today’s leading up-and-coming composers through their Emerging Composers Partnership Program.

Arrive early to the show to be guided through the pieces and performance you are about to experience in our FREE Pre-Show Talks hosted by Peace Center Artist-in-Residence, Igor Begelman.
The Bob Moog Foundation is thrilled to announce its 2020 Minimoog Raffle, featuring a vintage, iconic Minimoog Model D synthesizer, signed by legendary keyboardist Herbie Hancock. The synthesizer is valued at $5,000. Hancock signed the back of the Minimoog, serial number 1549, and drew a musical staff and added the inscription “(Hey Bob!)” on either side. The raffle begins on Monday, February 10, 2020, and ends on Tuesday March 10, 2020 or when all tickets have sold. Tickets are $25 each, five for $100, 12 for $200, or 35 for $500. Only 4,500 tickets will be available. All proceeds from the raffle support the Foundation’s educational project, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, and its newly opened Moogseum, located in Asheville, NC. Herbie Hancock joins a long list of renowned musicians supporting the Foundation’s efforts. Recent raffles have featured vintage synthesizers signed by Stevie Wonder, Dr. Fink of Prince and the Revolution, Jan Hammer, and Rick Wakeman. Hancock, whose illustrious career spans five decades and 14 Grammy awards, helped pioneer the use of synthesizers in jazz, and has been at the forefront of using technology to make music. He is known for his ever-probing jazz sensibilities, his willingness to explore music across all genres, and is considered to be among the most elite and influential players of his time.

questions about one another and seeing if their answers matched up. Craft Centric’s version is
open to pairs of any kind and also takes place in a brewery, which makes it even more fun!
Tickets are $20 per pair and proceeds will be donated to Hearts with Hands, a disaster relief
charity.
Hearts With Hands was founded following Hurricane Andrew in 1992 by Pastor Dr. Ralph
Sexton, Jr. (Trinity Baptist Church) in Asheville, North Carolina. Hearts With Hands is currently
directed by Evangelist Dr. Greg Lentz (Greg Lentz Ministries) and is a Christian,
nondenominational, humanitarian, non-profit 501 (c) 3 charitable organization. Hearts With
Hands provides physical, spiritual, medical, economic and other necessary aid to victims of
poverty, natural disaster, or famine.
The night will be hosted by Lane Snipes and Dale Murphy who run the regular themed trivias
every Tuesday.
Amanda Shires is renowned for her carefully crafted songs. Her influences include Leonard Cohen and John Prine, the latter of whom has been a mentor. “I was talking to John Prine while I was writing this record,” says Shires, “and he was talking about how using images that actually happened to you makes the songs true. A remarkable thing happened to The Revivalists as they came upon their tenth anniversary as a band. The Bob Moog Foundation is thrilled to announce its 2020 Minimoog Raffle, featuring a vintage, iconic Minimoog Model D synthesizer, signed by legendary keyboardist Herbie Hancock. The synthesizer is valued at $5,000. Hancock signed the back of the Minimoog, serial number 1549, and drew a musical staff and added the inscription “(Hey Bob!)” on either side. The raffle begins on Monday, February 10, 2020, and ends on Tuesday March 10, 2020 or when all tickets have sold. Tickets are $25 each, five for $100, 12 for $200, or 35 for $500. Only 4,500 tickets will be available. All proceeds from the raffle support the Foundation’s educational project, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, and its newly opened Moogseum, located in Asheville, NC. Herbie Hancock joins a long list of renowned musicians supporting the Foundation’s efforts. Recent raffles have featured vintage synthesizers signed by Stevie Wonder, Dr. Fink of Prince and the Revolution, Jan Hammer, and Rick Wakeman. Hancock, whose illustrious career spans five decades and 14 Grammy awards, helped pioneer the use of synthesizers in jazz, and has been at the forefront of using technology to make music. He is known for his ever-probing jazz sensibilities, his willingness to explore music across all genres, and is considered to be among the most elite and influential players of his time.
