Standup Comedy featuring Alex ParsonsOn Wednesday July 31, 7-9p we will be having another professional comedy open mic in The Orange Peel’s comedy basement. PULP is a bourbon speakeasy (400+ varieties) located under the iconic stage. No food is served but we do have free snacks while they last and outside food is permitted (no drinks of any kind).
Featuring Alex Parsons, a Boston transplant. Alex brings New England sass to the southern arena with his onstage antics. This comedian, actor, and singer, is ready to make your sides split with stories from his sordid past by making fun of some of the harder parts of life.
Host Cody Hughes is a comedian from Asheville NC. He’s lived in a few different big cities and a lot of comedians like him and a lot of other comedians have heard good things about him from the comedians who like him. A few comedians don’t like him and he can’t do anything about that.

Singer-songwriter Mike Kinnebrew’s innovative soulful, indie-inflected take on the folk and Americana sound has earned him the hearts of a diverse and growing fanbase across the world over 25 years and counting. After spending most of 2023 in the studio, Mike is preparing for a big year ahead with a full-length album release slated for spring 2024, in collaboration with Nashville Grammy winners Charlie Lowell and Matt Odmark.

Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, her ultimate goal is to unite all people through laughter.
Host Petey Smith McDowell is an Asheville native who has been traveling all around the country telling jokes since 2009.

Asheville was chosen to be the destination of the 2024 Nerd Nite Boss retreat, and so we will be hosting 20 bosses* from other Nerd Nite cities! * “Boss” is the term for the nerd who runs a Nerd Nite show. A group of Nerd Nite Bosses is called a “Well, Actually” of bosses.
The third annual Women to the Front (WTF) music festival will take place September 29th at Salvage Station with a full day of music featuring a lineup of over 50 local women musicians, as well as vendors featuring women-owned businesses, nonprofits that support women, and women-owned food trucks.
Organizers have planned an unforgettable experience with a diverse lineup of styles including jazz, blues, neo-soul, punk, funk, world, and more.
Artists include local favorites Queen Bee and the Honey Lovers, Ménage, The Hope Griffin Trio, Ovadya, The Maggie Valley Band, Kathryn O’Shea and many more. The WTF Funk Project will be headlining the event. Formed during the 1st annual event in 2022, this project features a rotating cast of women. This year the band features Whitney Mongé, Emily Musolino, Rebekah Todd, Rachel Waterhouse, McKinney, Polly Panic and more. The lineup was curated by festival co-founder, Melissa McKinney. The Festival officially begins Sunday at 12:30 p.m. with two stages and will end around Midnight.
