To our friends who’ve lost their jobs including those in the service industry and hospitality workers: Please join Food Connection for a free “to go” meal lovingly prepared by Wicked Weed Brewing’s Cultura thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor! We will be setting up in the parking lot against the Asheville Masonic Temple. We will be offering curbside service distributing meals from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm or until they run out.

*There is 1 Entrance In By AMT and you will drive through and exit at the back of the lot.

Back by popular demand our BBQ & Brews now featured on the Fontana Trestle Train, will roll out this Summer! Featuring slow-cooked BBQ prepared fresh and beer tastings showcasing our local breweries! Family friendly seating will be available on this experience!
Departing from Bryson City, these trains will travel to the Fontana Trestle and beyond remaining parallel to the Fontana Lake stopping at the perfect viewing spot just around sunset for a spectacular view! A delicious BBQ meal will be served during the trip. Returning back to the Bryson City Depot at 9pm.
In the Basket
Each of you will get your own basket of Southern-style barbeque goodness with hand-pulled pork slider, a couple pork ribs, and chicken drumstick accompanied by baked beans and house-made coleslaw.
And, of course, no respectable Southern barbeque would forget to warm up some apple cobbler for dessert.

To start, we will be holding fast to safety precautions listed below. As the CDC and NC governmental regulations soften, we will follow suit. Please know that we are making every effort to keep both our vendors and our community safe and well.
*No-contact payment: Tap’n’Pay , Venmo, Paypal payments only. No cash payments or card swipes will be accepted.
*Handwashing station upon entering Market
*Limited shopper numbers (car queue will be used, if necessary)
*1 customer at vendor table at a time

Foraging the Wild Weeds
Spring is here and we will take a short city walk to discover the abundance of common plants available almost everywhere. Nettles, plantain, violets, dandelion, burdock, and others are abundant and available to most of us, even in the city. We will discuss good wildcrafting practices, tools to make your gathering easy, and how to work with these wonderful weeds. Take home recipes to begin bringing a little wild back into your kitchen and your life!

Relax and unwind at the Arboretum’s “ArborEvenings” after hours series. Held every Thursday, June – October, from 6 to 9 p.m., visitors will sip and stroll through the Arboretum’s beautiful gardens while enjoying live music amongst flowers and friends. Local beverages, including beer and wine, are available for purchase along with light food options.
Admission to ArborEvenings is free; however, standard parking fees apply to non-members.

Spend your Thursday evening with the Museum and the Asheville Symphony for some creative fun! Associate Curator Cindy Buckner interviews artist Adonna Khare about using animals to tell fantastical tales in A Telling Instinct and her recently published coloring book. Following the interview, sit back, relax, and color selected pages from Khare’s book while listening to animal-themed music selected by the Symphony, introduced by Music Director Darko Butorac. Bartender Chad McRorie of the Grove Park Inn’s The Edison serves up creature-inspired cocktails, while Food Experience delights our taste buds with Perspective Café at home.
