Enter into the Rites of Spring with us to celebrate the Equinox and the Cycle of Newness. In this Sacred Equinox Sound ATUNEment, immerse into the indigenous, purifying tones of Sacred Voice, Tibetan and crystal bowls, tank drums, and the exquisite frequencies of gongs. We create a Human Mandala of Sacred Sound and chant the ancient sacred seed syllables of the chakras and connect them deeply within us through mudras. We dance into Newness through ecstatic movement, and end the evening in joy, sharing and copious amounts of chocolate.
We will be seated in a star configuration and once again we will be offering the Inner Mandala Healing Circle and the Outer Mandala general seating. The Inner Mandala Healing Circle is near the bowls and gongs, where you will receive individual Sacred Sound with specialty tuning forks, crystal pyramids and vocal tunings.
VERY IMPORTANT: We will be laying on a hard dance floor. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MATS, CUSHIONING and BLANKETS. It is important that you are comfortable to get the most out of this experience. There are very few mats available and NO cushions or blankets on-site.

Mayfest is the one of the longest running festivals in N.C., drawing visitors from across the region for a full day of springtime, family fun. Annual entertainment and traditions will be enjoyed including live music from Rutherford County Line and the Houston Bernard Band, a Car, Truck and Bike Show, and a variety of artisans and crafters showcasing their one-of-a-kind items. Youngsters will have a ball in the Kids Playland featuring inflatables and rock climbing walls, plus obstacle courses, face painting, and the Pinewood Derby Race. Local dancers, gymnasts and cheerleaders will perform, a Doggie Kissing booth will be open, and friendly fur babies will take the spotlight during the 4 Paws Kingdom Pet Contest. No festival is complete without fabulous food vendors. Indulge yourself with delicious BBQ, turkey legs, roasted corn, stir-fry, funnel cakes, kettle corn, cotton candy, homemade ice cream, and much more.

The Prama Institute and Wellness Center will hold an all-day festival on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 to celebrate health and wellness. Join us for this free celebration, taking place from 8:30am-6pm at Prama’s double-domed facility, located at 310 Panhandle Rd., just south of Marshall and 20 minutes from Asheville.
There will be a variety of free yoga, dance, music, workshops, playshops, sound healing, nature walks, and many more activities taking place throughout the day from which to choose from. We will have local vendors and information booths, as well as a children’s tent. Participants will also be able to purchase a delicious and nutritious lunch prepared by Prama’s chefs.
Since 2007, the Prama Institute has become a landmark retreat and conference center in the Southeast, hosting events that promote holistic health, spirituality, the arts, environmentalism, and social activism. In 2012, it opened the Prama Wellness Center, an innovative health center that promotes positive lifestyle changes through its retreats and individualized coaching. Both facilities are located on 130 acres of idyllic, secluded rolling hills that border the French Broad River. The land is interlaced with hiking trails that connect the many affiliated projects of the Prama community.
We invite you to bring your family, friends and neighbors to enjoy a musical evening in Biltmore Park Town Square. Grab a blanket and join us in Cecil Park, the green space near Hickory Tavern and Brixx Wood Fired Pizza. A rare opportunity to meet Claudia Foltz, co-author of dance icon Mel Tomlinson’s autobiography, “Beyond My Dreams”. Come here his story of how talent, determination and hard work broke through walls, making him one of the first African Americans featured at the NYC Ballet. Terpsicorps dancers Keith Reeves and Lydia McRae will join the discussion to share their view of life in today’s world of ballet from an African American perspective.

Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, NC’s summertime professional contemporary ballet company, is thrilled to be re-staging Heather Maloy’s HUNGER, a work that dares to ask the question, “What do you hunger for?” This partnership with MANNA Food Bank was created to call attention to or region’s food insecurity crisis. At the root, we are all hungry. Most of us not in the strict use of the term, but we all have something that we crave. Told through high energy vignettes that range from funny to shocking, this audience favorite inspires the viewer to inspect the needs and desires that forge the trajectory of their lives, while contemplating how that path would be altered if the most basic needs, such as food, water and shelter, were not met.
Start digging through your parents’ closet and working on your dance moves because Sierra Nevada Mills River is throwing a Soul Train Dance Party on Friday, June 21st. The Digs and Marley Carroll will be supplying old school funk tunes from 6:00-9:30pm in the High Gravity Room. There will be a dance and costume contest with prizes, and of course…….A DISCO BALL!!

Celebrate July 4th with a day of family fun at Tweetsie Railroad, followed by the High Country’s most spectacular fireworks display. The park will remain open until 9:00 pm and fireworks begin at 9:30 pm.
Start off your 4th of July with a BANG and join us at Asheville Outlets (ShopAshevilleOutlets.com) for a fun, flat and fast 5K at the Asheville Outlets. Choose from the timed 5K run/walk or a 1 mile untimed walk.

Asheville’s Independence Day 5k will get you starting your July 4th with a bang! This is a flat, family friendly course that starts and ends at the Asheville Outlet Mall.
Diego Attanasio is a Detroit based comedian originally from Peru who quickly wins over crowds with his quick wit, likability, and sarcastic observations. His rapid-fire delivery and onstage charisma make Diego one of the most notable acts in the midwest.
Diego has performed stand-up in Alaska, Hawaii, and everywhere in between. He was a semi-finalist in the San Diego Comedy Festival and a finalist in the Laugh Your Bluegrass Off Comedy Festival. Additionally he has performed at the Baltimore Comedy Festival, Cleveland Comedy Festival, Memphis Comedy Fest, North Carolina Comedy Festival, Idaho Laugh Fest, Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival, Beast Village Comedy Festival, Motor City Comedy Festival, Burning Bridges Comedy Festival, Whiskey Bear Comedy Festival, Gilda’s LaughFest, Border City Comedy Fest, Windsor Comedy Festival, Let’s Fest, and Fairbanks Funny Festival. Diego has opened for Tig Notaro (Netflix), Robert Kelly (HBO), Matt Braunger (Comedy Central), and Joe List (Netflix).

Come join us down by the river for an evening of music (provided by NC’s premier beach music band The Catalinas), Shag Dancing, fresh seafood and ice cold Sierraveza! Kim from Asheville Fairy Hair-Finklepott’s Original Fairy Hairr will be joining us as well! Grab your dancing partner and make your way to Lower Park!
