Asheville’s hospitality industry is proving sweet dreams can truly turn into full plates.

This September, over 45 hotels are coming together for the third annual Sweet Dreams, Full Plates campaign – a major collaboration aimed at connecting Asheville area’s thriving tourism industry to local hunger relief issues.

The idea is simple. Hotel guests, during the month of September, are given the opportunity to forgo stayover services by hanging a door hanger on their room door. The door hanger says, “We Fed A Family,” and for every room that chooses to participate, the hotel makes a $2 donation on their behalf.

With each $2 donation, MANNA FoodBank is able to provide enough food for seven meals.

Sep 1 @ 2:00 am – 6:00 am
The One Stop at Asheville Music Hall

Genre: Americana/Rock/Pop
Cover: $5 Suggested Donation @ Door
Show: 10PM
Ages: 21+

The New Rustics

The New Rustics is a new four piece band located in Asheville NC. Our music is Americana with hints of folk, rock, and jam.

Modern Strangers

Modern Strangers is an Asheville-based band playing high-energy, toe-tapping, and melodic rock music! A 4-piece combo of journeymen musicians, they take their varied influences and form them into a JanglePop juggernaut with a mountain twist. Hard to pin down their sound, they’ve heard comparisons from The Beatles to The Pixies to early REM to Elvis Costello to The Kinks. Catchy songs, vocal harmonies and just the right amount of edge make these guys a fun night whether they’re playing originals or quirky covers.

This comedy is often viewed as Shaw’s wittiest play! This is a borderline farce that will stimulate serious thinking about the nature of both romance and war. What is Raina to do when she finds that an enemy soldier has taken refuge in her room? What will her fiancée say? The plot, of course, thickens! Directed by Jim Reid and performed as Readers Theatre as a part of The Autumn Players’ Readers Theatre Showcase Series.

The Official Animal Rights March- Asheville
Sep 1 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Vance Monument

Who’s ready to bring the vegan message to the south?

The Official Animal Rights March is an annual vegan march founded by UK animal rights organisation Surge. The march began in London in 2016 with 2,500 attendees and by 2018 TOARM succeeded in a global attendance of 28,000 vegans marching in 25 cities across the world, demanding an end to all animal oppression. In 2019 we’re bringing The Official Animal Rights March back to North Carolina to spread the message of animal liberation across the globe.

This will be the second Official Animal Rights March in Asheville! In order to make this march succeed, we need your help. Invite your friends and tell every vegan you meet. This is the day when we unite, when we stand up and rise up.

The future is vegan, but we must continue to speak out on behalf of the animals until the day that their suffering ends.

Save the date, spread the word – and let’s make history for the animals.
