Grammy-winning artist Michael Logen’s work is found everywhere – from the radio to the silver screen, Rio and beyond!
A prolific lyricist, Logen’s songs have been recorded by household names like Rodney Carrington, Sister Hazel, and Brandon Heath. The Nashville-based artist is behind title tracks, chart-toppers, and Grammy-nominated singles. His original, acoustic version of a song he wrote with Jennifer Hanson, “Breaking Your Own Heart,” was covered by Kelly Clarkson on her platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated album, Stronger.
Logen’s success doesn’t stop with songwriting. In 2016, his song, “Couldn’t Ask For a Better Friend,” gained international recognition when it played prominently throughout the Rio Olympics after being chosen as the theme for Folgers award-winning ad. That is not the only silver screen appearance. His music also has been featured on hit TV shows, including Nashville, Suits, and One Tree Hill. As a performer, Logen has opened for John Legend, India.Arie, Mat Kearney – to name a few!
The multitalented singer-songwriter’s sophomore album New Medicine is “an articulate, measured examination of the inner-workings of the human mind and heart on a backdrop of gorgeous, sweeping, acoustic-based, rhythmic folk-pop.”

PROJECT 63 Catch You On The Run tour opener @ One World Brewing West Asheville NC! Friday April 23rd!

The Sons of Ralph are the sons of Bluegrass pioneer Ralph Lewis. In the heart of WNC, these masters of Bluegrass are “The Sons of Ralph”. Martin and Don Lewis, Cousin Steve Moseley, and the “other brother” Ozzie Orengo, Jr. have been playing and singing the unique style of bluegrass music since Ralph’s upbringing in Madison County.

Making it ten years as a band is no small feat. And maintaining the raw passion of those early days hustling, playing small rooms and cramming into the back of an old van is even rarer still. For the Wild Feathers, though, that passion has only grown with time, stronger now than when the beloved band first formed in 2010. Since then, the band has released three critically acclaimed studio albums, one live album and toured with major acts like Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, all while continuously honing their singular blend of Southern rock, Americana roots and heartland pop.
Now, the Wild Feathers are ready to pull back the curtain on their decade together with Medium Rarities, an eleven-song collection of previously unreleased music spanning each incarnation of their still-evolving career. Dave Cobb and Jay Joyce both feature as producers on the collection, with the Feathers themselves serving as co-producers for much of the album. The band will independently release Medium Rarities on November 20th.
In some ways, Medium Rarities is a product of the COVID-19 pandemic. When a major tour with Blackberry Smoke was canceled in March, the band found themselves with unexpected time to reflect on their career so far. Joel King, whom Ben Dumas dubs the band’s “archive master,” started poking around hard drives of old music, and the idea of a rarities compilation began to take shape.

Blues/Jazz/Swing/ Old School Soul/R&B chanteuse, Peggy Ratusz has been performing for nearly 45 years; the last 17, in WNC.
From cover tunes to originals, the scope of nostalgic to modern stylings she chooses to deliver effectively evokes the groove and embodies the lyrical content and distinguishes her from other great vocalists. For the past fourteen years, she’s either won or placed in the Western North Carolina Readers poll for Best in Blues. In 2016, she was named Best Vocalist as well as the area’s most noted musician who gives back to the community. With her stellar backing instrumentalists, guitarist Jonathan Pearlman, bassist Ben Bjorlie and drummer, Jay Hoots, this “ruby throated” International Blues Challenge semi finalist 2008, 2010 and 2015, thrives on sharing her interpretations and influences.
Come enjoy an evening of live music, food and drinks at the Isis Music Hall. Reservations are highly recommended.

You will be categorized in a division with studios of comparable size, much like the divisions in college sports. Finally, the stress of competing against studios much larger or smaller than yours is removed! In addition to our 3 levels of competition, we will have 2 divisions of overall awards!!! With cash prizes, scholarships, fun games, and more, we’re sure your “Epic” experience will be one you will want to relive each year!

The purpose of Coffee and Conversation is to have productive talk and dialogue that build communities, foster ideas of growth, solidarity and networking. In essence, no matter what we do in our daily living, our mission with “Enjoy Your Life”, is to promote others through positive action and empowerment. Remember, the temperature is changing and nights are getting colder. If you have any old coats please bring them to this Saturday’s meeting. We would like to discuss a time, place and date where some members may want to volunteer and hand out coats or any articles of clothing to homeless people downtown. Thanks, Marvin Ramsey

The Special Consensus is a bluegrass band that has achieved a contemporary sound in their four decades of performing, making their music a modern classic. The band is led by Greg Cahill, banjo player and recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), and includes Rick Faris (guitar), Dan Eubanks (bass) and Nate Burie (mandolin). Special Consensus has received six awards from the IBMA and two Grammy nominations. They are four talented vocalists and instrumentalists who follow their creative desires without straying too far from their bluegrass roots. The 19th band recording, Rivers and Roads (Compass Records, 2018), was nominated for the 2018 Best Bluegrass Album GRAMMY award and received 2018 IBMA awards for Album of the Year and Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year (for the tune “Squirrel Hunters”). Chicago Barn Dance, released by Compass Records in 2020, is the 20th Special C recording that celebrates both the 45th band anniversary and the long-standing connection of country and bluegrass music with Chicago from the time of the WLS “National Barn Dance” that was a precursor to the Grand Ole Opry. The songs on this recording relate to Chicago and/or are written by artists who once lived in Chicago. The title song “Chicago Barn Dance” received the 2020 IBMA Song of the Year Award.
