Enjoy Hendersonville’s wineries and cideries, along with a mix of culinary delights, during the seventh annual Cider, Wine & Dine Weekend, April 19-21.
The popular weekend involves tastings, vineyard tours, wine releases, food events, live music and other activities at 11 tasting rooms in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
New this year are scenic helicopter tours over the seven vineyards of Hendersonville’s Crest of the Blue Ridge wine region. Helicopter tours depart from Souther Williams Vineyard at 30-minute intervals throughout the day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A signature culinary event is the Spring Vintner’s Dinner at Marked Tree Vineyard, where guests enjoy a four-course meal at sunset paired with wines from the vineyard. At Sawyer Springs Vineyard, wine flights are paired with personal charcuterie cups, and Stone Ashe Vineyards has a wine and chocolate event. A food truck and s’mores satisfy cravings at Appalachian Ridge.
Walking tours provide opportunities to burn calories at Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards and Marked Tree Vineyard. Meanwhile, Bold Rock Hard Cider hosts a morning of mindfulness with a yoga class open to all levels.
The weekend corresponds with apple blossom season in Henderson County, where thousands of acres of apple trees welcome spring with a tapestry of pink and white blooms.
The same soil and climate that have produced apples for generations now prove fertile for grapes. The area recently received federal designation as an American Viticultural Area, making Crest of the Blue Ridge a bona fide wine region on par with more well-known U.S. wine regions.

The South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Inc. (SCACA) is a 501C6 nonprofit organization incorporated in The State of South Carolina. To achieve our goal of promoting the safe and lawful collection, possession, study and enjoyment of firearms, antiques, and related weapons, the SCACA holds public exhibitions across South Carolina. In accordance with all Federal, State and local laws, the SCACA provides members the opportunity to buy, sell or trade weapons and related items.
Proceeds from these exhibitions go to the SCACA Scholarship Program. The SCACA awards college tuition scholarships and provides grants to help the next generation become active and knowledgeable in shooting sports. In 2023 alone, the SCACA has given away more than $35,000 to individuals and various local shooting teams, military vehicle preservation clubs, and scholarships for continued education. The SCACA is a 501c6 organization dedicated to giving back to our South Carolina communities.

On Sunday April 21st 1-5pm UNCA’s Health and Wellness Department and the Student Environmental Center will host Bountiful Bowls, an Earth Day and Food Waste Reduction Month event and fundraiser to benefit Bountiful Cities.
This FREE event is open to all. Community members and students are invited to come and celebrate outside the Sherrill Center at UNCA where they can enjoy some “stone soup.” Participants are encouraged to bring a vegetable or pantry item that can be part of the stone soup. We will celebrate Food Waste Reduction month using donated up-cycled produce to make the soup and a Panzanella Salad for attendees. Firefly Valley Pottery will lead participants in a hands-on experience with clay, and participants can take hand built pots with them. The Student Environmental Center will lead Earth Day activities and share information about sustainability.
Participants can purchase beautiful ceramic hand-made bowls (on a sliding scale) to support Bountiful Cities work, then fill it with soup or salad!
Tickets ($25 each) are also on sale for cooking classes with Plant-Based Nutrition Expert and Professor Amy Joy Lanou in the Teaching Kitchen at the Sherill Center at UNCA. Lanou will explore techniques to reduce food waste and cook delicious dishes with fresh and local produce. You can purchase a ticket to the cooking class and add on a ceramic bowl for $40.

Began in the fall of 2016 as a Grateful Dead tribute band based in Asheville NC. Since they have earned a large local and regional fan-base for their live performances of unique, grungy, and up-tempo versions of the Dead & JGB catalog.
In the years following, they have expanded from Asheville NC, and regularly appear in Knoxville TN, Greenville SC, and other cities and mountain towns surrounding their home base.
Auditions are held over two nights, and you may choose either night to audition. Please fill out the Audition Form (per show) to secure an audition time. Walk-ups will be asked to fill out the audition form on site and will need to wait until the next available time slot.
For musical auditions: In general, come dressed to dance and prepared to sing 16 bars (30-45 seconds) of a musical theatre song, in the style of the musical. Depending on the show, you may be asked to bring sheet music to be played by an accompanist or you may be asked to bring a backing track (like a karaoke track on your phone) to play on a provided speaker. Please read each show’s audition requirements.
For non-musical auditions: Generally, you will be asked to memorize and prepare a monologue or to read pages from the script in front of the director, the stage manager, and another reader. Please read each show’s audition requirements.

Hosted by the witty & sagacious Jason Mencer, our epic pub trivia night runs every Monday from 7:30-9:30pm! Plus $5.00 well drinks all night!
Come test your brain power with tasty pub fare, an adult beverage or two — and a team of your smartest friends! Win prizes each round and crow a little about what a smarty-pants you are!
Auditions are held over two nights, and you may choose either night to audition. Please fill out the Audition Form (per show) to secure an audition time. Walk-ups will be asked to fill out the audition form on site and will need to wait until the next available time slot.
For musical auditions: In general, come dressed to dance and prepared to sing 16 bars (30-45 seconds) of a musical theatre song, in the style of the musical. Depending on the show, you may be asked to bring sheet music to be played by an accompanist or you may be asked to bring a backing track (like a karaoke track on your phone) to play on a provided speaker. Please read each show’s audition requirements.
For non-musical auditions: Generally, you will be asked to memorize and prepare a monologue or to read pages from the script in front of the director, the stage manager, and another reader. Please read each show’s audition requirements.

About Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps: Prepare yourself for a whirlwind adventure of suspense and comedy with Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps. This fast-paced play is a unique adaptation of the 1935 classic Hitchcock thriller film, infused with a healthy dose of Monty Python-style humor. The story revolves around the central character, Richard Hannay, who inadvertently gets tangled in a mysterious web of spies, murder, and love. Remarkably, the entire riveting narrative unfolds through the talents of just four actors, who collectively portray over 150 characters, masterfully switching roles with lightning speed. Brimming with clever references to Hitchcock’s filmography, wry British humor, and ingeniously crafted theatrical inventiveness, The 39 Steps promises a rollicking evening of entertainment that leaves audiences on the edge of their seats.
