Looking for a buzz-worthy event? Look no further than Asheville’s 2nd Annual Honey Festival! Join the Center for Honeybee Research and Shanti Elixirs on Sunday, June 4th, from 12-6pm for a day of celebration, education, and community-building.
At the festival, you’ll enjoy live music, food trucks, and vendors showcasing the unique flavors of honey and other artisanal goods. But that’s not all: you’ll also be supporting a great cause, as proceeds from the festival will go towards saving pollinators and our planet.
The Center for Honeybee Research will be offering local and international honey for guests to sample and purchase, and you can even participate in the People’s Choice award for local honey vendors. Plus, we will be featuring the live finals of the 12th Annual International Black Jar Honey competition. Festival goers can watch as local celebrities determine the world’s best tasting honey.
And don’t forget to come dressed in your best pollinator-themed costume! It’s all part of the fun at Asheville’s 2nd Annual Honey Festival.
Personal water bottles are recommended, and families are encouraged to attend. So mark your calendars for June 4th, and come out to celebrate the wonderful world of beekeeping, honey, and all things pollinators. Together, we can help save the bees!
Exciting News! We’re thrilled to announce that, as a part of their Thursday night non-profit event, @thewhaleavl has chosen 12 Baskets Café and Garden will be the proud beneficiary next Thursday June 15th!
Join us at The Whale for an incredible evening of fun and philanthropy. We will have a table set up from 5 pm to about 10 pm and from 6-8 pm, you can groove to the beats of a fantastic DJ. And here’s the best part: a generous portion of the beer sales will be donated to support 12 Baskets Café and Garden! 
Gather your friends, spread the word, and let’s make this evening one to remember! Join us on June 15th at The Whale as we come together to support 12 Baskets Café and Garden.
Please join us for MoonieFest! There will be Live Music & a Karaoke Contest by Thunderstruck Entertainment. Live music includes Misdemeanor, Jeremy Whiteside and Joe Roads. This is a free event that also includes a raffle and cornhole. There will be a food truck, ice cream and drinks available on the premises at cost. MoonieFest is a fundraising event to benefit Stage 4 No More: Search for a Cure. Help Jennifer in her fight to find healing from stage 4 cancer. The Kiwanis Club of Black Mountain-Swannanoa is privileged to host a Field of Honor® from September 11 through September 30, 2023 in Black Mountain, NC. The Field of Honor® Project honors our first responders, active-duty military, fallen servicemen and women, and all veterans. Located on State Street between the Black Mountain United Methodist Church and Harwood Home for Funerals, the Field of Honor® will display 100 United States flags plus the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, Police and Fire flags. Flags are 3’ x 5′ on 7 1/2’ flagstaffs. Flags are now on sale for $50 per flag. Purchasers will be able to add a personalized tag to each flag including the name of the person being honored. Following the closing ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 30, which will include the proper treatment and disposal of the United States flag, purchasers can pick up their flag to take home at that time.

Beer & Hymns brings people together to raise our glasses, raise our voices,
and raise funds for organizations that change the world.
The Beer and Hymns concept is simple:
Come together as a community once a month to:
- sing hymns
- drink beer (or other beverages)
- raise money for various nonprofits ( in the Swannanoa Valley in our case)
Group singing is loved and appreciated by many. For some they sing hymns every Sunday with other members of their faith community. Others may not have been inside a church for decade, but they miss the hymns and the sounds of voices joined together in song.
This event is intended for everyone in the community.

In addition to the joy of group singing, you’ll be raising money for various charitable organizations in Black Mountain and the Swannanoa Valley. Each month a different local nonprofit will be selected as the beneficiary of the monthly event.

Join us for the 8th Annual IC Imagine Fine Arts 5k and Fun Run on Saturday, September 9th!
We invite you to attend as a participant, sponsor, volunteer or spectator, and encourage you to share this event with family, friends and business associates. The more the merrier! All proceeds from this annual event benefit our Fine Arts Department.
This race specifically benefits the Fine Arts department at IC Imagine.
When IC Imagine first opened in 2014 our Fine Arts staff consisted of three people and our students were able to put on three public performances throughout the school year – 2 band concerts and 1 chorus concert, all of which only involved students in 5th-10th grades. This year, we have ten Fine Arts staff members and our students are scheduled to particiate in over 50 performances throughout the year. Our Fine Arts programs are growing and thriving and we could not be more proud of our students and teachers that are providing these amazing experiences to our community. We have the opportunity to expand our programs even more with our new building and space, but we need your help. Your support goes directly to providing throwing wheels for our visual arts students to study ceramics, purchasing band instruments, allowing our choral students to sing new music at each performance, and outfitting our new performing arts center with sound and lighting equipment.

Asheville Outlets will host the 1st Annual Super 12 Volt Rally sponsored by The Super SignGuy, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, with races beginning at 12:30 p.m. The family focused event benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC; there is no charge for families, spectators, or participants. The day features a rally, races, prices, food, and multiple vendors. Youths from 3 to 12 years of age are encouraged to participate and can bring their own vehicle or use one provided.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC works to ensure every child in Western North Carolina has an enjoyable, long-term relationship with a caring adult who believes in them and sees their potential. • The common causes of suicidal behavior
• The warning signs of suicide
• How to get help for someone in crisis
QPR is the most widely taught Gatekeeper training in the
world.
