Parlour in the Palm: A Night of Magic and Mystery
The veil thins on October 31st. Step inside the shadowy glow of The Palm Room and experience Parlour in the Palm, an immersive Halloween night of magic that promises more than tricks. Prepare for impossible feats and uncanny wonders with world-renowned magician Paul Vigil, direct from Las Vegas, joined by guest magicians who know how to keep the night deliciously unsettling.
This is a one-of-a-kind performance where close-up sorcery meets mind-twisting mentalism, all in an intimate space that’s equal parts elegant and a little haunted.
Each Ticket Includes:

A 70-minute parlour show featuring master magicians

The Sheep Dog Club of WHHS is having this event for the community to earn money for our scholarship at the end of the year to a Senior who is entering Law Enforcement Training, Fire, EMS, or the military. We have secured food trucks to be available beginning at 10 am and craft vendors to sell their goods. Please join us to help our community of future leaders. The event is free to attend and purchase goods, and vendor tables are $25 each for up to two tables. Alternatively, you can bring your own tables and rent a space for $40.

I9PA Release Party (10 Year Anniversary Edition)
Roll down to the Asheville Yards on Saturday, Nov. 1st for a day of bicycle fun in support of Asheville on Bikes and the AVL Unpaved project.
3-6pm: Bring the kids and your bikes for AoB’s pop-up bike park and the Maro inflatable obstacle course! Recyclery will be here to teach bike maintenance skills!
6pm: I9 raffle winners announced! We’re raffling off Industry Nine Custom Hydra2 Alloy Wheel Raffle in support of AVL Unpaved.
6:30-7:30pm: Newspaper challenge! Bring your bike and complete our newspaper delivery obstacle challenge.
The dance, bike, and beer release party goes until 9pm!

Naturalist Niche: Ridge Hike
Step off the beaten path and join one of our favorite hikes of the year led by a local naturalist. This special trek explores areas of the park normally closed to the public, offering rare views and rich insights into the landscape. With most of the leaves fallen, you’ll be treated to sweeping, long-range vistas of Hickory Nut Gorge. Please note, this hike goes off trail and is considered moderately strenuous.

Veterans Day Special: Free Admission for Veterans
Join medicinal herb farmers, buyers, and celebrate the season at the 10th Annual NC Medicinal Herb Grower Buyer Event in Mills River, NC!
after/glow is turning up the twang in celebration of Dwight Yoakam at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center! Guests are invited to saddle up and swing by for a Friday night done right with classic country tunes and a chance to win tickets to the concert on November 15.
Chef Kevin Chrisman is teaming up with Chef Payton Barrell from Asheville restaurant Gourmand for one lively Saturday night in the kitchen at Golden Hour. The two talented chefs will combine their expertise to present a delectable à la carte menu. Reservations are encouraged.

Join naturalist and educator, Jessie Wilder, for a thoughtful conversation on the benefits of living a place-based life, Thurs. November 20 at Kanuga. Part of Kanuga’s Lunch & Learn series, the event begins with a forest bathing nature walk (weather permitting) at 10 a.m. followed by the conversation with Jessie Wilder at 11 a.m. Enjoy a buffet lunch in Kanuga’s dining hall after the presentation. 10–11AM, Forest Bathing with Aimee Bostwick: Join Aimee for a time to ground ourselves by engaging our senses and tuning into our relationship with Nature. Dress comfortably for the weather and be sure to wear comfortable shoes. We will end this time with a cup of tea and sharing.
11AM–12PM, Jessie Wilder on Sense of Place: Join us for a conversation with naturalist Jessie Wilder as she shares with us about our deep connection to place and how it forms us. Consider where you currently live and ask yourself this: I live here, but how much do I really know, love, and inhabit this place as home?
12–1:30PM, Lunch and Discussion in the Dining Hall
Standup Comedy Picture Show with headliner Petey Smith McDowell
Comics on the show do standup with slide show pictures to illustrate their sets. This is sure to keep you in your seats figuring out what you just looked at!

Feature Cloud Hudson is a comedian, lighting designer, and weather forecaster (licensed meteorologist) with a knack for finding the silver lining around every storm cloud. Their comedy blurs the lines between science and magic in a quest for collective understanding. But don’t let this intellectual spirituality fool you- Cloud uses only the most unhinged examples of the disgustingly divine to draw clouds of laughter from crowds that matter.

Annual Passholder Exclusive: Llamapalooza
Save the drama, hang out with a llama! Spend a whimsical day hiking with these quirky, woolly companions on the 0.4-mile Great Woodland Adventure Trail. Along the way, you’ll strike a pose for fun photo ops and learn all about what makes llamas so unique. The Great Woodland Adventure is an easy trail, but please note it is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. This event is for Annual Passholder only. No additional guests please.

Guests are invited to Golden Hour for a Thanksgiving feast brimming with all the favorites, plus a few Golden Hour twists. From smoked turkey and leek dressing to pumpkin cheesecake and sweet potato doughnuts, each dish celebrates comfort with a touch of woodfire flavor. The buffet is $65 per person and $40 per child under 12 years of age, excluding tax, gratuity & beverages. Reservations are encouraged.
Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

28th Annual Santa on the Chimney
Santa has a big job climbing down all the chimneys in the world on Christmas Eve. But where better to practice than one of the world’s largest natural chimneys? Santa will be back in the park this year for his Christmas trial run rappelling down Chimney Rock. Attendees can watch Santa rappel, pose for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hike with an elf, make holiday crafts, listen to live music, meet some of our live animal ambassadors, and more.
A festive morning for the whole family! Enjoy a breakfast buffet from 10AM–12PM, live holiday music, craft activities, and cookie decorating — plus a special visit from Santa himself. The bar will be serving hot chocolate, mulled wine, and eggnog for a cozy seasonal touch. $65 for adults, $45 for children.
