Comedian Martin Lawrence will take the stage at Bon Secours Wellness Arena this Valentine’s Day with special guests Benji Brown & Daphnique Springs.
Tickets are available at the GSP International Airport Box Office located at the arena from the on sale through show day while supplies last. Box Office hours vary but we are generally open M-F 10AM-2PM.

WNC Dance Repertory Benefit Showcase February 15, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
WNC Dance Academy presents our annual winter benefit concert featuring the WNC Dance Repertory Company and Stewart/Owen Dance. All proceeds go to benefit Stewart/Owen Dance and their goal to enrich the community of Western North Carolina with education, promotion, and creation of contemporary dance by building a sustainable ecosystem where professional dance artists can thrive.
Once again, Bertie finds himself suffering the slings and arrows of misfortune at the hands of his relatives, caught between his fierce Aunt Agatha, his plaintive cousin Egbert, a saucy jazz singer, and his future father-in-law. Another priceless predicament calling upon the redoubtable Jeeves to save the day.
This 75-minute production tells the story of a character who has lost her inner light, plunging into a wondrous and surreal world where memories come to life and the ordinary becomes ‘extra’ordinary. With over 8 breathtaking acrobatic acts, “Solstice” combines light design, costumes, enchanting music, surreal scenery, and the magic of falling snow to create this celebration of the human spirit. Asheville Comedy Festival presents A WNC Benefit Show with comedian Rory Scovel and Friends. February 19, 2025 at 7:30 p.m.
A WNC Benefit Show with comedian Rory Scovel and friends presented by Asheville Comedy Festival. Rory Scovel is an actor, comedian, and writer. His latest comedy special RORY SCOVEL: RELIGION, SEX, AND A FEW THINGS IN BETWEEN released in February, 2024 on MAX to rave reviews. Joining the lineup are local comedy sensations Hilliary Begley and Cayla Clark. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch this hysterical event benefiting the local businesses of Asheville affected by Helene!
Depending on location, heavy rains and flooding from Hurricane Helene impacted soils throughout WNC. Many gardeners have questions about how to address everything from sediment and rock deposition to potential contamination. Michael Rayburn, Urban Ag Extension Agent in Buncombe County will walk us through the process of determining how to move forward with addressing soil health post Helene.

Western North Carolina, roses are usually ‘hard pruned’ in the late winter or early spring. Dead or damaged canes are removed, and the plant is shaped for optimal growth and blooms. Many rose growers are uncertain of how to correctly prune their roses. This program unravels the mystery of pruning and will help you have healthy and happy roses.
This will be an in-person program at the Extension office at the address above. Portions of this program may be held outside; please dress appropriately for the weather. The classroom size is limited so register to reserve your seat!

As people all over the country start to grow their own gardens, plant prices continue to rise. These price increases quickly add up when growing your own garden. Starting your own seeds is a much more economical way to grow a large number of plants. Believe it or not many plants also do better when you grow them from a seed. Starting seeds can seem like a very scary task but it doesn’t have to be. Join our education coordinator, Isaac Wyatt, for a course all about starting your own seeds. From what you need to get started to how to get your seedlings in the garden.

Western North Carolina is one of the most biodiverse regions of the world. Unfortunately, development and increasing population are threatening the delicate ecosystems of the area. Many of the landscape methods that we utilize have negative environmental repercussions. We can do better.

In this series of classes Steve will discuss how to manage your landscape in the most environmentally friendly way possible using sustainable gardening practices. Planning Your Multi-Use Native Garden with Sarah Coury and Ben Pick

Native plants are beautiful, low maintenance, ecologically beneficial and bestow a distinct sense of place to cultivated landscapes. This class will guide students in planning a native garden to serve multiple purposes, including choosing species that are beneficial pollinator sources, important larval host plants, species for cut flowers, ornamental display, and edible gardens.

Bonsai Demo: Resurrection of the Chase Grove with Arthur Joura
ON-SITE | Sunday, March 9 | 2:30 – 4:30 pm
In 1997, the Arboretum received a donation of a bonsai tray landscape featuring Dwarf Hinoki Falsecypress. The donation came from a well-known bonsai artist in Pennsylvania named Chase Rosade. This large and popular planting was often on display in the bonsai garden, until 2021 when it was taken off display because the unique fabricated container in which it was planted began to crumble. A new container has been made and now it’s time to rebuild the landscape and get it back on display.
Meadows don’t have to be massive to contribute to the biodiversity and beauty of a landscape. Many gardeners are learning how to incorporate meadow style plantings in their home or small business landscapes. Join us for our engaging workshop on creating a meadow style landscape feature.
