Join us for a night of poetry and storytelling all about the pros, cons, and weirdness of sharing your body with others. All donations will be given directly to Asheville Prison Books. “Asheville Prison Books is a volunteer-run collective which has distributed free literature to people incarcerated in the southeast since 1999. We currently distribute books to North and South Carolina.

So, dust off your love goggles and get ready to put your love smarts to the test! With special prizes up for grabs, you might just win yourself a hot date for next year!
Save the date for February 14th and get ready to fall in love with Cupid’s Trivia. Starting at 8pm, and with no cover charge, this is the perfect excuse to get outta the house and get your game on.
But beware, this event is 21+ only, so leave the kiddos at home and come ready to swoon! See you at the Asheville Beauty Academy in downtown Asheville for a night of love, laughter, and trivia!
Time to schedule a Valentine’s date for yourself. During these two classes, you will learn and get to know the basics of classic burlesque dance as well as perfecting a dance routine. Please wear clothes you can move in, and bring a large button-down or sweatshirt as well as a scarf or wrap to play with!

She’s a founding member of and performer with several local improv troupes and teaches improv at The Actors Center of Asheville. She also hosts. writes and produces her own political comedy show, From the Ashes with Marlene Thompson of YouTube. Marlene has performed at countless comedy festivals all over the country and has opened for comics Joe Zimmerman, Kate Willett, Brandie Posey and Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall.
Host Cody Hughes: Cody is a comedian who cut his teeth in Chicago and Atlanta. He is now based out of West North Carolina and tours the Southeast. He has opened for Lewis Black, John Oliver and Maria Bamford among others and hosts the regular Slice of Life Comedy shows at The Orange Peel’s Pulp Lounge.
About Pulp: The speakeasy inspired hideaway offers a cozy space for show-goers to relax and enjoy a beverage during the concert. Boasting over 200 different Bourbons and Whiskeys, alongside a myriad of other spirits, it is a must-visit for cocktail lovers and Bourbon sippers alike. Pulp will also open various other nights to feature local artists and “Slice of Life” open-mic comedy nights. Clothing swaps are a great way to get rid of items that you no longer need, but that might be just what someone else is looking for. Events like this also help keep clothing out of landfills, and create community among attendees. We are committed to creating swaps that are size-inclusive.
At this event you can bring clothes you like and leave with clothes you love! Plus, it’s a fundraiser for reproductive justice in Asheville.
How it works:
Drop off clothes before March 25 at Hi-Wire RAD
Clothing should be in good, clean condition
Bring 1-20+ items, leave with 15+
Adult clothing and shoes only
No accessories or kids clothing
Come watch as teams from across the Carolinas compete in a double-elimination bracket to pull two fire trucks in a race for the best time. Then stick around for a live concert. A portion of proceeds will go to the N.C. Firefighters’ Burned Children Fund.

Find and snap photos with each egg, leave the eggs behind for the next “hunter,” then move on to the next! Available on two different days, this family-friendly event is sure to delight hunters of all ages.
After the hunt, head to Antler Hill Village to collect your child’s treat bag—which includes a special commemorative egg—then visit Pisgah Playground, say hello to the Farmyard’s baby animals, and grab a bite at one of our Village restaurants. Perfect end to a perfect spring day? Relaxing on the Village Green with one of The Creamery’s famous Winky Bar sundaes!
A limited number of Easter Scavenger Hunt treat bags will be distributed from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. each day of the event. Treat bags are for kids nine and younger.
Fletcher United Methodist Church invites kids and families to join us for our egg hunt and pancake breakfast! Hope to see you on Saturday, April 8th at 10am! Please bring your own basket!
- Parking at the park is limited; we recommend carpooling. If you’d like to park at Pinecrest ARP Church, we will shuttle you to the park in our churh bus.
- The Egg Hunt will start promptly at 11AM, don’t be late!
- We are hiding 5,000 eggs with a preschool section and an elementary section.

Saturday Night at McCormick Field is the place to be to receive a Cooler Bag courtesy of Mission Health! The first 1,000 fans in the gate will be going home with one.
Celebrate Easter with song, scripture and spiritual music as a spectacular sunrise ascends over Lake Lure. Chimney Rock’s nondenominational Easter Sunrise Service has become a legendary event in western North Carolina. The event is free but reservations are required.
Schedule:
5:30 – 6:15 am – Gates open for visitors with a reserved parking pass
6:15 am – Gates close for admittance
6:45 – 7:15am – Easter Sunrise Service
The trails will open following the service. If you are hungry, we will be serving an early breakfast immediately after the service at the Old Rock Café near the entrance of the Park.
Please Note: The parking is limited, so attendees will be required to reserve a parking pass in advance in order to attend the service. The parking pass is complimentary and will be available on our website starting on March 1st, 2023. Carpooling is recommended. Vehicles can be no larger than a 16-passenger van.

The Episcopal Church of St. John in the Wilderness welcomes children of all ages to participate in an
Easter Egg Hunt at 10am on Easter Sunday, April 9th. The annual event is hosted by St. John's Young
Family Ministry.
Participants are encouraged to join the fun in the Rector’s Garden and Parish Hall lawn next to the Parish
Hall across Rutledge Drive from the church. Parking is available.
“We invite neighbors, friends, and visitors to join us for Easter at St. John in the Wilderness this year,”
said Fr. Josh Stephens, Rector. “We are excited to offer the Easter Egg Hunt for the community, as well
as the beautiful worship with a warm welcome as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection.”
Guests are welcome to enjoy the grounds and trails before or after the
meal. Kanuga’s 21 miles of hiking trails will be open, as well as Daisy’s Lake Trail, which is an easy walk encircling Kanuga Lake. In
addition, Kanuga Lake’s waterfront will be open for swimming and boating from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., with canoes and kayaks available
(weather permitting). Kanuga chefs have prepared a wonderful brunch menu and we invite everyone to bring family and friends to
break bread together. The brunch buffet features rosemary beef tenderloin, brown sugar and maple ham, spring frittata, fresh fruit,
asparagus, salad bar, and more, topped off with homemade lemon bars and iced blueberry biscuits. Mimosas and Bloody Marys will
be available as well. Guests may enjoy the meal in the dining room, at outside tables, or on the Rocking Chair Porch.
Our very own Keri Ann has connected with the African Christian Fellowship to embark on a Mission trip this July to Malawi, Africa.
$10 cover charge, a raffle and an opportunity to donate!
To support this wonderful cause, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyard and Appalachian Ridge will kick off Spring with a 4 week Friday Night Jam’s Fundraiser at Appalachian Ridge from 6-9pm. �We will have live Music each Friday from 6-8:30pm. There will be a $10 cover charge, a raffle and an opportunity to donate. All of these proceeds go straight to the ACFUSA to provide and support primary health care needs to 6 villages in Malawi.

The Asheville Only One Earth Coalition is throwing a party for Earth Day!
Enjoy an evening of music, food, and drink with some local activists and other beautiful earthlings.
This event will be a benefit for Southside Community Garden.
Admission at the door will be on a sliding scale of $10 – $25, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
They will also have a raffle, which will include art, gift certificates, and various fun stuff.
Activists from some of the Coalition organizations will have tables to share information about what they are doing to make this world a better place. Come join us as we celebrate Earth Day and our hopes for a better world!

Our beautiful greenhouses are over-flowing with spring vibes and are full of unique plants, live music, a mechanical bull, h-e-m-p goodies, and fantastic vendors, ready to launch us into the warm season.
Come experience one heck of a unique venue as we have bluegrass jams, a set with HUG – Hendersonville Ukulele Group, the Substandards, almost madi, and a SURPRISE band! We’ll also have all the Farm Fam favs like Lauren Daviss of @fiddyshadesofgreen, Amy and Jesse Ross, and MS. SUSIE (#protectmssusieatallcosts).
Almost Madi will be joining us to play gentle tunes as you peruse our wonderful line-up of craft vendors, which will include artisan food vendors like App Wyld, as well as beautiful jewelry, amazing art, glass blowers, ceramics, and of course a wide selection (and maybe even a few special drops) of green goodness from Appalachian Standard!
The Spring Fling is *FREE* to the public. Parking is available on site but can be limited so it is recommended that groups carpool. This is an outdoor event. The first 100 people to join us will receive a goodie bag!
