We’ve heard your valuable feedback, and now you don’t have to hear us! Beginning May 4, 2021, the period between 8 and 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday morning of every month will be reserved for “Meditative Mornings,” a pause for quiet time in our gardens and on our trails. During this time, our working garden crew will abstain from using leaf blowers, mowers and other equipment so you can be sure to enjoy the sounds of birds and the wind in the trees.
Take advantage of half-price parking on the first Tuesday of every month and come out to the Arboretum to enjoy a Meditative Morning!
Dark City Poets Society is a completely free poetry group that is open to writers of all ages and experience levels.
Join us at the Black Mountain Library from 6:00-7:30 pm on the first Tuesday of every month for our (respectful) feedback group.

This session is a performances by our very talented friend from Skinny Beats Drum Shop and Gallery-Billy Zanski. Come enjoy the sounds of singing crystal bowls, unique African instruments, and various drums. Join us for a morning of wellness. Enjoy outdoor yoga + sound therapy in the beautiful Peace garden of Asheville Salt Cave. This 60minute class includes brain-nourishing breathwork, centering meditation, body opening posture flow and lengthy guided relaxation under a sound bath by Billy Zanski of Skinny Beats. Spend 2+ hours as a jeweler!
Work with silver wire to create a set of three textured stacking rings. Learn the techniques you need to fuse the silver, hammer, and stamp to your liking, and we’ll then polish the rings to a nice shine. Leave class feeling accomplished and ready to show off your work!
You will use a torch! (Don’t be intimidated, our highly skilled and fun instructors will walk you through it!)
Please wear close-toed shoes and tie long hair back for safety. All tools and materials needed for class will be provided.

Support a child in learning to read! Read to Succeed volunteer reading tutors teach elementary students to read using phonological awareness and phonics curricula that aligns with Asheville City and Buncombe County Schools instruction. Tutors attend 6+ hours of training and work one-to-one or in small groups with elementary students throughout the school year (during and after school).
